How does the selection process go for OWeek? Is it base on social life and face like NBC?

The selection process for O'Week is significantly different from NBC as we would like to provide more freshmen a chance to be orientated in the school. The intake for O'Week is roughly three times larger than NBC so there is no need to worry that you may not have a place in the camp. The main reason for this distinction is because NBC is essentially a social exposure camp while O'Week mainly focuses orientating you to the school and giving you an opportunity to meet your classmates.

I heard that it is rare for ppl to get to attend both OWeek and NBC (since others who didn't get to attend NBC should have a chance in OWeek as well) so is it recommended to go for OWeek or NBC?

Hello! We would say that attending NBC would not diminish your chances for attending O'Week. The main reason why we do not make such a distinction is because NBC and O'Week serve different purposes. We would recommend that if you had the chance, you should go for both NBC and O'Week to reap the full benefits of both camps.

I signed up for the camp but i didn't receive any acceptance/ rejection. Does this mean that my application is missed out?

Hi there! Could you drop an email to nbc2015hr@gmail.com please? Our Human Resource team for NUS Business Camp shall address your concerns directly from there. Thank you for applying to the camp!

Would there be a need to sign up for O week camp or is it available to anyone? If so, when would the sign ups for o week be and how may i do so?

There is a need to sign up for O'Week as there are limited spaces due to constraints. The sign ups will be estimated to be up by late June. We will be updating our Facebook page and sending an email to people who have subscribed to our mailing list once the platform is up. Thank you for your interest! :)

Hey there!(: I'm a freshmen for 15/16 and I would like to ask, if I'm only able to attend one camp due to personal circumstances, would you recommend nbc or o camp?

Hello there! We are sorry to inform you that applications to NBC has closed. We would strongly encourage you to join O'Week (Orientation Week) as it will be the first time you will be mingling with your classmates from your Alumni Group and we will sharing more academic information (CORS, modules, etc.). At the same time, we will be having fun through games! :D

has all the acceptance email for NUS business camp been sent out?

Please refer to the previous reply. :)

Hi, just a little anxious as I have yet to receive a confirmation email for NBC 2015. How will I know if I have not been accepted?

The acceptance and rejection emails have been sent out yesterday. Please do check your junk/spam email folder as it may have ended up there. If you have further queries, you may raise your concerns at nbc2015hr@gmail.com.
Thank you for applying and we hope to see you soon in our school! :)

Is it common for international students to go for NBC? I'm an international student and it'll be very complicated to fly down to attend NBC since I don't have a Immigration Pass etc.

Hi there! While it is not common for international students to go for NBC, we would encourage you to join us for NBC because it is one of our flagship events for students here in NUS Business School. In the event that you have applied and are accepted into the camp but experience immigration problems, please do inform your Orientation Group Leader or Human Resources so that the necessary actions could be taken.
If you miss NBC, fret not! There would be a host of events lined up for International Students when school reopens. We look forward to meeting you the next Semester! :)

When will I know if I am accepted to go for the business camp?

Acceptance to NUS Business Camp 2015 - Cosa Nostra will be sent out from 3 June 2015.

hello :) i'm a bizad freshie entering this august! I was wondering if we should be good at sports to join the inter faculty games? cause if it's really intense then perhaps those who aren't that good at sports shouldn't sign up...

Hi there! You do not have to be good at sports to join the inter-faculty games. Even though IFG ultimately is a competition, we would try to be as inclusive as possible. Everyone is welcome to come and try out for the sport, make friends and have fun, whether they think they will make the team in the future or not. Players with no prior experience have made the team in past IFGs, especially in sports like Tchoukball and Dodgeball.
We would encourage you to expand your experience and broaden your horizon as a freshman. :)

is bizad's selection of candidates into the main committee contingent upon the candidates' social life outside of the faculty? for example, fass is unlikely to consider candidates who stay in halls/have many ccas/go for voluntary internships and exchanges...

Hi! We do consider the candidates' social life outside of the faculty as Bizad Club is a long-term commitment that's driven by passion and responsibility. However, all candidates are given equal evaluation and we do not shortchange the chances of each candidate just because he/she is heavily involved in another CCA. As long as Bizad Club see the potential in you juggling different commitments, we will consider you as a legitimate candidate.

Oh okay but are there any "standard" baskets for year 2? Like year 1 it was either mkt1003 basket or acc1002 basket haha

To be honest, such a basket may not exist as even those taking the mkt basket and the acc basket in year 1 would be merged to take new subjects together. For example, it is quite common for most of the year 2s to take FIN2004, ACC2002, DSC2008 in y2s1 together. Other examples of 'baskets' could be FIN2004, MNO2007 and ACC2002 while BSP2001, MNO2009, BSP2005 (this is more rare) could be another. However the combinations are endless as most students would often drop some modules allocated to them and bid for other modules so as to go along with their exchange plans (i.e. saving that module for exchange instead). Also, as we are only allocated 3 modules, some may bid for a 4th as a core and again the choices can be limited as everyone's preference could be different.

For year 2 BBA, what are the modules for each basket?

Hi for year 2, the 'basket' varies for each individual. Firstly the accounting students may get a different basket inclusive of accounting 'specialization' modules. At the same time for BBA students, while you would be allocated 3 modules by office (so you would have to bid for the remaining 2), this 3 modules could be any combination from the remainder of your core modules. To check what's remaining of your core modules, you could go online to the BBA website or Bizipedia to check and compare against what you have done in year 1! Hope this helps (:

Hi there! What are the prerequisites for being elected into bizad club main comm I.e. Good grades, cca etc. ? Thank you!

Thank you for your interest in the Bizad Club main committee. We do have a checklist for our selection, which we would assess each individual candidate through a camp called Camp Calibre. Good grades and CCA records are good but do not form the complete checklist for our selection. After Camp Calibre, a series of election campaigns would take place in two parts (Internal Elections and External Elections).

Hi there! Just to ask for year 2 how does the preallocation of modules work? How many are preallocated to us and does it work in terms of baskets (just like in year 1) ? Thanks!

Answered below. To add on, yes the modules are allocated in the form of baskets :)

what's the freshman intake for bizad club? :)

Hi, for Bizad Club Main Committee, the intake is roughly 20 people. There are many sub committees for you to join as well (Sports, Academia, Welfare etc), and you may choose to join FOPs too (O Week, Jam and Hop, NBC, Flag). Bizad Club is a large family averaging 200+ members :)

Hi there! Sorry not sure if my question earlier was sent through. But how does preallocation of modules work in year 2? How many are preallocated and is it in the form of baskets? Like year 1? So some people may end up with another basket? Thanks!

Yes, generally, for every semester, business foundation modules will be preallocated to you. How many modules that are preallocated depends on whether you are BBA/BAC student, and take into consideration other factors as well. For instance, if you are a BAC student and is successful in Y2S2 SEP application, then the ACC36xx basket may be preallocated to you in Y2S1

Hi there! Just to ask which are that harder mods that you would recommend to map overseas on exchange?

Hi, that depends on whether you are a BBA/BAC student. You may try to map BSP3001 and your other foundation modules (ACC1006, FIN2004, MNO2007, BSP2001, DSC2006) if the partner university accepts you into the module. Do refer to the equivalent module master list :) do note that for BAC students, ACC36xx modules cannot be mapped overseas.

Is there a freshman guide to choosing modules for bba(acc)?

Hi! There is no official guide as to the way and order in which you should or must choose your modules. However, if you visit nusbizadclub.com, under the BBA (acc) section under Bizipedia, there's a list of modules that you have to complete for graduation. You could use those modules there as a reference and then plan your modules for your entire 4 years accordingly (: hope this helps!

Can you attend both nbc and o week camps?

Yes, if you are an incoming freshmen for AY2015/2016 and has been offered a place in NUS Business, then you would be able to attend both NBC and O'Week. The signups for the NBC can found at http://www.tinyurl.com/nbcsignup and will close on 27 May 2015, at 2359 hours. The application for O'Week will open some time in July.

Ooops missed the t shirt sale! Will you sell anytime soon, preferably before end of sem? :) thx!

We are in the works of building an online store in which you can purchase our Business apparels. However, for now, you may email nus.business.club@u.nus.edu if you wish to purchase them over the summer holidays. Our club members would be in school most of the time in preparations of the Freshmen Orientation Projects so we would able to serve you. :)

Will you be selling anymore of the dry fit sleeveless nus business top?

The dry-fit sleeveless NUS Business top is a one-time sales by Uni-Y to raise funds for their event. Sadly, we do not expect to sell them again.

Hi there! I'm entering the 2015-2016 batch. Can I know when the application deadlines for the Business Faculty and Accounting Major camps are? Thanks!

Hey there, we have two camps planned for incoming freshmen for AY2015/16. They are the NUS Business Camp (NBC) and Orientation Week (O'Week) camp. For NBC, sign ups are expected to open on 15 May 2015 and close on 22 May 2015. Sign ups for O'Week will open some time during July. Other than the camps, we have other initiatives such as Rag & Flag.
