Hi, I'm a freshman and I was only preallocated 3 modules, including GER1000. (Probably bcos I passed the AP Test) If I bid for those Yr1Sem2 or Yr2Sem1 modules, will it mess up my future preallocations? For certain modules like es2002, i can only appeal on 13 Aug and I can't bid for it right?
Hi yes yes and yes. You can bid for higher level modules but it would mess up your pre allocations in the future. Also, what module are you exempted from - do you happen to know?
And yes for ES2002 you can only appeal for it in Round 2B!

Hi there, the only GEM that is pre allocated to freshmen is GER1000. If you do not get it pre allocated this semester, you would get it next semester.

Can an accounting student take on second specialisation in marketing/finance/any biz specialisation? What's the procedure and how common is it? Are all the core modules pre allocated for our entire uni life or when will the time come for us to start bidding for the core mods?

The answer to your first question is Yes :) for your second part, there's no formal procedure, all you would have to do is do the specialization modules of whichever other specialization you wish to do in business school. You would only have to bid the earliest for a core module from Year 2 onwards (:

Hi since you are in UTCP, you are exempted from the GEM Module and hence, you would not need to bid for any 5th GEM Module. Your modules for Sem 1 should be 4 Biz Core Modules and 1 UTown Module.
And yes you may take 6 modules with a UE as your 6th module but do note that, CORS only allows you to overload from Round 3A onwards, before that, you are only allowed to bid and hold up to 5 modules :)

Hi yes! You must follow the pre allocated ones as shown in your timetable unless you find a mutual swap - if you do, then you can head down to BBA office at level 2 of MRB and they would swap for you accordingly :)

Hi there! The language module that we were referring to was the ES Module that poly students have to take and pass. It is 0mc and hence, won't affect your CORS bidding (:

Hi there! As a biz freshie, you would not have to bid for any modules in Round 1C as you should have 4 pre allocated Biz modules. You should only be bidding for your GEM Module during Round 2A, first day of O'Week next Monday!

Hi! I am an incoming freshman and I am unable to log onto the NUS because I lost my password and I am overseas now. My friend has been pre-allocated 5 modules. Since I am unable to check what I have been pre-allocated, may I know if it is a standard practice that all students are allocated 5?
Hi there, you should login to check if you have been pre allocated 5 modules! For all incoming freshmen, half of you would be pre allocated 5 modules while the other half would be pre allocated 4 modules. As a result, this would mean that you may have to bid for the 5th module.

Hi there! There is no official NUS Biz Freshmen 15/16 group on fb! An Official group would require the school/office's involvement and hence, there has not been anything as such so far. You would be able to find someone to swap your timings with during O'Week as it would be a long camp, if you really want to!
It also would not be too late as you can swap until school starts or even possibly in the first week when school starts in some cases - fret not! :)

Hello! If my friend's lecture and my lecture falls on the same day, but different time slot (e.g mine is 9-11, hers is 1-3), do you reckon we can crash each other's lecture? Must it be the same lecturer then we can crash? Since they are ultimately following the same teaching schedule. Thanks!
Hi there! We are assuming you're a Year 1, and hence for most of your lecture modules, they are the same lecturer for all the lecture slots. Hence, you can crash each other's lecture as they would be the same content and schedule :)

Hi there! The deadline for swaps would be before the start of school and yes, you would have to find someone who is willing to do a mutual swap of different sectional timings from the same module :) Once you do, you can approach office to do the swap and they would arrange for it accordingly!
Hi, I am taking DDP in BBA (acc) and Econs and I have been allocated 3 biz mods (12MC) + BFS 1001 (0MC) and GER 1000 (4MC). Is it correct to say that I've only been allocated 3 biz core modules? Hi there! Regardless of whether you are DDP or Single Degree, the NUS wide cap is 5 modules until Round 2B following which you can bid or appeal up to 6 modules in Round 3 onwards. To take 7 modules, you would have to write into office to request specially for it. Further, in your case, you would need to decide on your 4th module, (since your GEM has been settled), whether it is going to be a biz module or an econs module and then approach the respective office to ask them accordingly :)

Hi there! (: ES2002 is a designated sectional teaching slot and hence, you would not be able to crash another timeslot. In order to change the timings, you would need to find someone to do a mutual swap of timings and then approach BBA office to do so.
