Hi i'm a biz freshie. In my timetable, I have 5 modules but 4 of them are "Sectional teaching" and only 1 of them is a lecture. Does this mean i only have to bid for 1 tutorial, corresponding to that lecture?

Hi! Yes, this would mean that you only have to bid for the tutorial of that one lecture!

Hi im a year 1 acct freshie. I have checked the sectional groups for the preallocated mods. May i ask if the sectional groups will change every sem according to modules? Or all acct students will be in the same sectional groups for every preallocated mods

Hi! (: Yes! Your sectional groups would start to change in accordance to the modules that you have been awarded. However, for the first one and a half years, you would probably be in the same sectional group as your current classmates (with some variations).

HELLO! I'm a year 1 freshie! For me, I have taken QET. I understand that if we have gotten a band 1/2 in QET, we have to bid for additional ES mod in Round 1C. Does that mean that we can only bid for it during this Round 1C? Or we can also bid for it in Round 2A during O' week? Thank you!:)

Hi there! Welcome to Biz Sch :) and yes, for your additional ES module, you don't have to just bid it during Round 1C, you can bid it in Round 2A, 2B and all the way till 3 even!

Hello, I'm an incoming freshmen. I have been allocated 5 modules, out of which 2 are the same on different days. So does that mean I have been allocated 4 or 5 modules? Also, is it normal that only 1 of them is a lecture? So I only have to bid for a tutorial slot for this one module?

Hi there! May we ask what are your modules and what do you mean by two of them are the same on different days? Which module is this? :)

Hi, I am an incoming freshman. Just want to ask how and when should we ballot for the tutorial time slot? Thanks!

Hi! Welcome to Business School! For Tutorials, you would be balloting for your tutorial slots during Tutorial Iteration Round 1 and 2s! For Biz sch mods, it would be during Round 2, 17 August 2015. However, if you are pre allocated GER1000, the balloting for that would be during Round 1 on 11 August 2015!
Balloting is done on CORS :) During O'Week we would advise you on how you can go about doing this!

Hi do you get awarded the same amount of points for P&G accounts every semester in NUS? And do we get points while we're on exchange i.e. pts accummulate & we can keep them without using)

Hi yes, you get the same amount of points for both accounts every semester. You would also be accumulating them over time so that you are able to bid for more expensive modules as you become a senior.

Freshie here! Can i change the lecture for my allocated modules? Or i have to drop my allocated module and bid for it with the lecture i want? So currently my timetable seems pretty empty, so all i lack in my timetable is just tutorials which i also have to bid after two weeks of lectures?

Hi for your lecture timings you do not have to drop and bid for a new slot. When you go for your first lecture, the lecturer would give you the permission and leeway to attend any of the other lecture slots as long as he/she is conducting it.
And yes for tutorials you would be balloting for them during the Tutorial Iteration Rounds 1 and 2 (:

Hi, may I inquire about when the deadline for swapping modules is?

Hi there has been no fixed deadline set so you can assume it's until the end of the CORS Rounds!

Hi can I ask, for lec and tutorial slots, must the tutorial slot for the week come after lecture or even if it's before the lecture slot it is fine?

Hi! It's fine if the tutorial slot is before the lecture slot, you would not be 'ahead' or anything as tutorials only start after two weeks of lecture from week 3 onwards! (:

Hello, I'm an incoming freshman, so if I have 6 modules allocated (including BFS) does that mean that I don't have to do anything during bidding? Any resources available for me to read up about the mods I am allocated before school starts?

Hi, welcome to biz Sch! (: yes in your case, this would mean you do not have to bid for any more modules.
As for resources, there's not much besides the IVLE portal where your notes and module content would be uploaded.
However you could google up the module code to find the module curriculum plan to prepare yourself or know what to expect.
Thanks! (:

Hi, may I ask if it is normal for year 2 bba students to be pre-allocated only 2 mods? If it is, then for the remaining mods are we allowed to bid for core biz mods?

Hi for year 2, there's various combos and hence there are some who have only been offered 1 or 2 modules. You may want to go to the biz enquiry portal at https://mybiz.nus.biz/bba/students/default.aspx and directly enquire if you are supposed to get another module - the BBA office would be handle and review this on a case by case basis.
For the remaining biz core mods you can always bid for them during Round 1A and 1B, they are meant for us seniors to bid for our faculty modules. However biz has restrictions in the aspect of sectional modules such as MNO2007, FIN2004 and ACC2002, which cannot be bidded for but can only be appealed for on appeal day (Aug 3 before 5pm)
Hope this helps! (:

Hello! I'm an incoming freshmen, who has been allocated 5 modules, one of which is GER1000, Quantitative reasoning. On my timetable the lecture shows Sunday at 8am. As far as I know, I don't think there are lectures for this module due to the huge number, so is it just for show on the timetable?

Hi! For GER1000, it is a uni wide pre allocated module to half of the freshmen and the lecture would be in the form of electures online with physical tutorials only. Hence, you can just take it as it is as you can watch your electures as and when you want (:

Hi, so if we have 5 mods pre allocated we do not have to bid? Also for lecture slots will it be pre allocated or do we get to choose? Thank you!! :)

Hi, assuming that you're an incoming freshmen, you would not have to bid for any more modules if you got 5 allocated modules! (This is assuming that BFS1001 is not one of your modules, if it is, then that's not counted as it is a 0 mc module).
In your allocation, you would also have the details of your lecture time slot! You would only have to ballot for your tutorial slot.

Hi, I'm curious to know the modules I will be taking in 15/16 as a BizAd student so i can choose the breadth modules in my own UTRP program. May i know where i can access such information? Thank you!! :)

Hi, we are assuming you're an incoming student for this year so for your first semester, you would be given a 'basket' of modules, which could be one of the various few. To see what are the possible combinations, you could visit the BBA page or our Bizipedia page of the Bizad Club Website - there's a list of foundational modules there. Also, your breadth for your UTRP would probably be your 5th module!
Hope this helps, sorry for the delay in replying! (:

For freshmen how many modules are preallocated and what's the recommended module to take for the remaining unpreallocated slots? Is there a guide to plan our modules? Also, when will we know which modules are pre-allocated to us? Please advice thank you!

Hi! (: For freshmen, half of you would be allocated all 5 modules while the other half would be allocated 4 modules (meaning this bunch would have to bid for their 5th module).
For this 5th module, you are recommended to bid for a GEM Module (To find out what are the GEM Modules available, go to NUS CORS Website > Useful Info > GEM for Cohort 2015 onwards). Also, bidding for this GEM would be during around 2A, first day of O'Week 2015 (:
From Round 0 onwards, you would be able to login via CORS to see what are your pre allocated modules!
Hope this helps! (:

How is the Rag camp like for the dancers and the floaters?(:

During Rag camp, dancers will undergo intensive dance practices while floaters will undergo intensive arts and craft sessions. However, we are not all work but no play - we will be having games and bonding sessions during lunch and night.

Hi, I would like to know when will rag camp be and how long is it? Thank you!

Hello there! Rag Camp will start on 6 July and run for four weeks. The week will begin on a Monday morning and end on a Friday evening.

Are any of the camps overnight?

Hi there! We do not know which camps you are referring to, but for NUS Business Camp, O'Week and Rag Camp, they all require you to stay overnight.

What is pre-camp about? Like what are the activities for that day?

Pre-camp is about getting you properly inducted into the camp. Within the short span of 4 hours, you will be briefed about the camp and we will be conducting ice-breakers games for you to know your OG mates better before the camp starts.

How much does the Hall camps and RC Social Camps cost? Are there any fees?

Hi, we are unable to answer this question as we are not provided such information. You may want to refer this query to the Hall and RC in question.

would there be a camp for rag day? how may i apply for that?

Rag would consist of two parts. The first part is called "Pre-Rag", in which dance and float sessions are conducted three times a week. For this first part, there will be no staying over. The second part is the actual camp itself in which participants are required to stay over. Do come down to our Rag Exposure Day which will be held some time the following week. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/1643594239208312/) for future updates!

Why does o week have limited spaces? Shouldn't everyone be given the opportunity?

There are limited space for O'Week because we face a constraints for resources available, especially when it comes to sleeping accommodation and showering facilities.
The numbers that we take in is very close to the total intake of BBA and BAC students every year. Given that not all freshmen want to attend orientation camps, we usually end up taking in all, if not most of our applicants.

Are there no waiting list for the NBC?

Hey there! We don't have a waiting list for NBC 2015. Hope this addresses any concerns that you may have.

Does O week have limited spaces also just like NBC?

Due to constraints, we will be accepting an approximate number of 650 freshmen into the camp. However, this is a rough estimate and will be finalised at a later date.

Hi! Would like to ask approximately how many people signed up for nbc and how many are actually attending? And how is the selection basis like?

This year, we have a total of 461 applicants for the camp and we are currently still in the midst of finalising the total number of freshmen attending the camp. The selection basis is mainly based on the quality of survey responses that we receive. Hope this addresses your questions!
