Your tutors will advise accordingly for the compulsory textbooks and their respective editions. If not mentioned, you can assume a textbook is not compulsory.
Hi, I was granted exemption for ACC1002 from the APT. According to the bizadclub website, we are allowed to S/U ACC2002. But from what I know, we can't S/U any mods that have a pre-requisite. So I'm quite confused, am I allowed to S/U ACC2002 if I take it up this Y1S1?
Hi, you are not allowed to S/U ACC2002 but rather ACC1002. Even if you take it up in Sem 1 or Sem 2 or Year 2, you are not allowed to S/U it.

Hello! If the GEM that I would like to bid for clashes with my ACC1002 lecture, the system would not allow me to bid for that particular GEM. However, there is actually another lecture slot that I can attend for ACC1002. What should I do such that the system will allow me to bid for the GEM?
You will have to do a mutual swop of your lecture timing with someone else and the office has to process and approve your request before you can bid for your GEM. That might take quite a while, so you have to be patient!
Hi I have bided for a New Media course as my 5th module before going thru the talks... did not know i have to clear my GEMs by year2. does this mean there will be a high chance i will be overloading in the next semesters in order for me to clear my GEMs?
Yup, you will have to overload if you take your CNM module now. If you do not wish to overload then you should drop your CNM module and bid for a GEM instead! It's still not too late :)

Yes, you have to wear formal attire for all BFS classes but not for other modules. You will receive the appropriate instructions through IVLE when school starts!
I received an email stating that only the ES1103 "b" group is opened to the business students for bidding in round 2. However the schedule for "b" group clashes with my timetable. In this case, am I allowed to bid for other groups that matches my timetable in round 2 bidding?

Please refer to the answer directly below. ES1103 is available for bidding in Round 3A, and you only need to clear ES1103. ES1102 is not for the batch of AY2016/17.
Hi, I am a BBA year 1. May I ask are we allowed to bid for 2 GEMs in y1s1 instead of 1? Currently, I have 4 preallocated mod so I wish to take 2 GEM this sem which will give me 24MC. Am I right to say that I will bid for 1 GEM in Round 2A first and my 2nd GEM in Round 3? Or bid for both in Round 2A?
Hi there, please not that single degree students in Y1S1 are NOT allowed to overload. Hence you can only take one GEM.

Your tutors will upload them onto IVLE every week; there is no need to buy them.

Each of your tutors/lecturers will advise accordingly. Textbooks may change from semester to semester depending on who your lecturer is, so its best to wait for their course outline through IVLE.
Can I bid for two gems at once to "secure" a slot for one of the gem? Once the results is released and if I win the bid for 2 of them , can I drop one of it ?
You can do that provided you are only allocated 3 modules. If you are allocated 4, the CORS system will not allow you to bid because it perceives that you are overloading. Just bid for one GEM first and if you fail to get it, you can then bid for your second one. You should look at those GEMs which are not as popular as the rest so that you have a higher chance of getting the module.
Hello! Can I check, since the bid for ES1103 only starts from 3A, does that mean that I don't need to go for class during the first 2 weeks of school? Then what if we can't get ES1103 after we bid? Means we will have one module lesser since we didn't bid for GEM? Thanks so much! :)
You will receive your bidding results on the day itself after bidding closes. If you do not get ES1103, you can try again in Round 3B, but the safer way to ensure you get your fifth module is to bid for a GEM instead. Every semester the minimum MCs is 18, hence you have to take no fewer than 5 modules.
What's the difference between round 1A and Round 1B for the same Iteration (E.G iteration 1)?

Hello, I'm a freshie & saw the ans abt overloading. Does this mean that since I'm taking 4 pre-allocated modules and 1 gem, I cannot take a language mod w/o contacting the bba office?
If you have signed up for LPP before matriculating then you can overload with your language module and you do not need to contact the office. However, if you are not an LPP student, then you can only take 5 modules.

Yes and yes; there isn't an official reason given, but if we were to guess it would be so that freshmen do not abuse the S/U system i.e. by taking as many modules in Y1 and then exercising S/Us on all of them. Another is so that you do not stress yourself out the moment university starts :)
