Hi, I haven't received any acceptance/waiting list/ rejection email regarding to Biz O'week camp. Is that normal?

Hi there, please email us your name and application number to enquiries.oweek2016@gmail.com so that we may check for you!

Hi, I think I've not tick the last box for the O'week camp tinyurl link but sill managed to submit successfully. Do I have to resubmit the form again?

Hi, please email your enquiry with your name and application number to enquiries.oweek2016@gmail.com :)

Hi! I understand that non-swimmers do not need to fill up the swimming declaration form for the orientation camp. They will only need to make a note on the form itself. So does the form still need to be signed after we note down our swimming inability?

Yes, please sign it!

Hi, I've that there are certain sexual activities in NUS camps? Is that true? I really hope to participate in camps but when there are these type of activities..... And I know that we can certainly opt out, but it wouldn't be that easy for us to voice out especially with peers whom we are not close.

Hi there, there aren't 'sexual activities' in camps, but there are some sexually suggestive games that camps play. This is usually done as forfeits instead of being a station game per se, and it is habitual of many camps to do this. However, our faculty camps' forfeits are not as suggestive as those you read about in the news, although we cannot deny the existence of it altogether.

What is the fastest way /shortest way to get to Nus business school if you stay in the east? Dropping off at kent ridge mrt station, then taking the shuttle bus? or taking the public bus from haw par villa mrt station, then walking in from opp heng mui keat terrace (is there a gate open somewhere?tq

For an eastie, the fastest way to Business School is to take the circle line to Kent Ridge and then taking D2. Haw Par Villa has more buses servicing the Heng Mui Keng terrace route, but taking into the account that HPV is further away from KR plus the fact that you still have to walk in, HPV is a longer route to take.

hey I'd like to ask, when will y2s know their preallocated mods for the coming sem? ◡̈

You will know your preallocated modules from 21st July onwards!

OMG panicking whats SEP points??? PLS ENLIGHTEN ME IVE NO IDEA SHIT AND IM NOT IN RAG

Hi freshie, please don't panic... SEP stands for Student Exchange Program, and works on a points system. Taking a main comm or sub comm position (not just participating as a floater or dancer) will earn you some SEP points that count towards your SEP score. SEP is held only from Y2S2 onwards, so fret not. You will have plenty of opportunities to chalk up points.

Hi,is it better to take es2002(heavier workload) with dsc2008 or acc2002,both equally tough module?thanks.

My personal opinion (as the one answering this) is that it'd be better to take it with ACC2002 since DSC2008 has proven to be a very tall order for majority of the cohort. However, as you mentioned, both are almost equally tough, so either way, the workload will not be easy on you :)

HI iv just activated my student card and it says i can now proceed to register for my classes/modules. Im in Biz ad. How do i do it I'm freaking clueless..............................

Hi there, registration for classes and bidding of modules will be briefed to you during pre-camp :)

Hi,is es2002 offered in y2s2?thanks.

ES2002 is offered all semesters. However, it may be pre allocated to you if you haven't taken it already.

Hi, school for freshmen starts immediately after O'week? Would that be 8 Aug? Thank you!

Yup, that is right :)

will taking part in rag contribute to our SEP points?

Taking up a main committee or sub-committee role in rag will definitely earn you SEP points :)

Hi! May I know what will happen if I don't get into O Week? If I get rejected does that mean I don't have to go to school at all for the 1st week or are there other activities that I can participate in? Thanks!

You may refer to the previous answers below for some preliminary details on the academic briefing; however, other than that, it is probable that you will not need to attend school for the first week!

Hello!can i know will thr be programs for is if we r not in the orientation camp?

Hi there, you will be invited down during pre-camp hours for an academic briefing! However, we are unable to offer you any other activities due to manpower constraints :( We apologise for the inconvenience!

if we've been placed on the waiting list for O week, what is the likelihood of us actually getting a place? is there a possibility of more slots being opened, or otherwise are there any other ways for us to familiarise ourselves with academic matters? thank you!

Hi there! The likelihood is, unfortunately, rather low as we do not have that many pull-outs. However, you will be invited down to biz school during pre-camp hours for an academic briefing :) We apologise sincerely for being unable to accommodate you, and thank you very much for your interest in O'Week!

Hi, if i cant swim at all, what do i do with the swimming declaration form for oweek camp?

Please sign it as well; we will take note of your details during the camp and will issue you a band for identification :)

Hello, can I ask if we are still allowed to sign up for IFG and who can we contact if we want to (and are still allowed to) join?

Hi there, please contact the Sports Director, Dexter Lim at 92314016.

Hi! Is there a contact list or sth that we can have access to to contact others who are going to the same uni for SEP? :) Thank You

Hi there, the list of students going to the respective universities cannot be released by the Offcie due to personal data privacy reasons. You will, however, be informed of who will be going to the same university as you during a briefing that will be held soon. Should you miss this briefing, you may contact Jessie Toh of the BBA Office to find out who your peers are.

Hi, I do not understand the curriculum for BBA (Accountancy). I'm a poly student here btw. Can you explain how many core modules we have to take, and what other modules we have to take too ? Eg, GEM, UE, SS etc. and for which do we have to bid ?

Hi there, all of this will be explained during pre-camp :) Whether or not you are in O Week, you will be invited down for the academics briefings :)

Do BAC students need to bid for modules as well or are most modules pre-allocated? thanks

BAC students will be pre allocated modules as well!

Hello :) I am going for O Week but not sure if I can make it for the pre camp yet, is it ok if I put no for my availability for the pre camp first but still go for the pre camp if I'm able to? Thank you! :)

Yes, please do so! Thank you :)

are year long SEPs common for BAC students?

SEPs that are year-long are very uncommon in Business School; however for NOC, that is perfectly possible. BAC students are not likely to take year-long SEPs are many of their ACC 36xx modules must be taken in business school, and their have a local compulsory internship to complete as well.

What is the concept behind pre-assignment?

Pre-allocating modules to Y1 students protects them from competition between one another, since freshmen are not exposed and familiar with the CORS system, so NUS Business assigns Y1s their modules. It also helps to even out the subscription for each core module assigned to freshmen :)

Hello, I am going to take econs and biz DDP. However, I am pretty confused about how to plan my modules. Does anybody who took this DDP mine sharing what modules they took in Y1S1 and Y1S2? Thank you.

Hi there, it depends on which is your home faculty: if it is biz, you will likely be allocated 3 business modules only. The other two can be used for both econs modules, or you can use one for econs and the other for another FASS module (to clear baskets). Alternatively, if you stay in any of the residential colleges, one of your modules can be used to take your RC mod as well! The module planning is very flexible; in fact, there are people who complete all of their business modules (including specialisations) first, effetively finishing their degree, before taking all their 2nd degree modules.
But the rough workload for Y1S1 will be 3 biz mods, and 2 FASS mods, and Y1S2 sees a much greater permutation of modules!
