When can i appeal to take mods? During the bidding round or after the bidding round?

Hello! Appeals to take (core) modules can be done under the Appeals tab in CORS before Round 2B ends. Submit your appeal under "Appeal Type: Encountered problems when bidding for module" together with your reasons :)

Hi, I got preallocated BFS Class A4, ie on week 7-13 on Tue at 11. Is it possible to change to Class A1 on week 1-6? And what are the procedures?

You will probably have to make a mutual swop with someone else; otherwise, it is probably not possible to change classes.

Hi, for acc students, we r unable to take acc mods overseas for sep, so are we suppose to drop the allocated basket and map required biz mods to partner university?? Or can u explain how do acc students map the modules for sep

Hi! BAC students may drop their baskets in Y1S2 and bid for other modules that cannot be mapped overseas. For example, you are pre-allocated MKT1003, ST1131A and ACC2002 in Y1S2; these are general modules which are easier to map as most overseas schools offer them every semester and the syllabi for these modules are quite universal.
However, dropping your modules requires you to replace them with other modules and if your bidding fails, then you will likely be required to overload in the subsequent semesters. So do plan ahead of time and consult the BBA Office if required!

Hi! I'm a year 1 student, do we need to bid for any business modules for sem 2? Thanks! (:

Please refer to the answer below :)

Hi, do first year biz students need to bid for any business modules in sem 2? Thanks! (:

Freshmen do not need to bid for any business modules in semester 2 as they are usually preallocated. Depending on your degree type, business students can be allocated anywhere from 3-5 modules, 3 of which should minimally be business-related, excluding BFS1001 :)

Hi. What is considered as overloading? Is it by the number of modules or MCs? Thank you!

Overloading is usually counted by the number of MCs. Anything above 18-20MCs is commonly considered as overloading :) However, for simplicity's sake, most students usually consider overloading by modules since most business modules are 5MCs.

Hi! I would like to kindly check with you if my current modules are fine or do I have to add in one more gem module in order to meet the modular credit requirements. My current modules are BSP1005, ES2002, MKT1003, DSC1007, BFS1001 and I am bidding for ES1102 as well.

Hello! ES1102 and BFS1001 both do not offer any MCs so as of now, your total MCs add up to 16. You will need to bid for another GEM module to reach the minimum 18 MCs per semester.

Is it possible to drop allocated module because the summer school program that i am interested in can map the module ?

This is usually not possible unless you have already secured a place in your overseas program. However, you still may try appealing to drop your module, stating the above reasons and await your results from the BBA Office :)

Hey! Can you advise on modules to take on SEP? What does it mean by modules that map back to NUS? Thanks so much for answering all the questions! :)

Hello! The modules to take on (or in other words, to map to the respective university) in SEP depends on which university you are applying to. Different universities offer different modules for mapping and this cannot be confirmed until your university has been confirmed after application.
We do not map modules back to NUS but rather, map modules to the partner university. This means that we take the equivalent module at the university that we would have if we were in NUS. For example, MKT3402 (Consumer Behaviour) in NUS will be mapped to an equivalent module with similar content in the partner university.

Is it possible to change the sectional classes that were assigned along with the allocated modules?

Hi there, it is technically possible to change your allocated class via three methods if you have sufficient grounds:
1. Informing the BBA office of clashes with your other modules
2. Mutual swap with a student in your desired class, along with consent from the professors
3. Emailing the professors of both classes to check for vacancies within the first two weeks of lessons

Hi, not sure if you know this but when can i bid for my QET eng mod ES1102?

Hello :) Bidding for ES1102 starts in Round 0, 29th Dec. If you cannot bid for it in Round 0 then it should definitely be open in Round 1 and Round 3. However, bidding in Round 3 will be more difficult as you will be competing with seniors for places.

Is there a need to keep any of our year 1 textbooks? Such as DSC1007 Biz Analytics, BSP1005 Managerial Econs and MKT1003 Marketing? I mean.. would we need these materials for subsequent modules or would these materials be redundant? Thank you!

Hi there! There is no need to keep your textbooks as subsequent modules will be dealing with different content. Hence, the textbooks will not be used henceforth :)

Can we use internship to clear modular credit?

No, unless you are in NOC which would have its own arrangements established.

Is there a need for us to keep the acc1002 textbook? Will it be needed in the future sem?

There is no need to keep the ACC1002 textbook as accounting modules in future will be focusing on different content :)

Hi, my grades are A,A-,B+,B and B-. I'm gg to SU the B and B-.However I'm unsure as to whether to S/U the B+. I'm aiming for first class/second upper, but im not confident if I can do very well in future sems, so I'm thinking if I should keep the B+ to act as a buffer. Please advice, thanks! :)

Hi there! Apologies for the late reply! In this case it would be advisable to S/U the B+ to keep you on track for a first class/second upper. Apologies that this answer was provided after the S/U window has closed, but we hope you made the choice you deem the best on your own :)

In what circumstances will one need to overload (considering if they did not fail any mods)? A normal 5 mods per sem arrangement should allow us to graduate in time am I right?

Yes, that is correct. However, you may wish to overload if you want to take up more modules you are interested in, or if you are applying for programmes such as NOC.

Hi! For poly students we are automatically granted 12 MCs for UEMs right? Does that mean we do not have to fulfill any UEMs? Thank you! :)

Yes, but if you are planning on taking the honours year (4th year) then you will have 32MCs of UEMs instead so you will have 20MCs more to fulfil.

Hi, my 1st sem results (B x 2, B+ x 2, A- x1). I am aiming for second upper honours. How should I use my S/U options? Please advise and thx.

Hi, I would advise you to SU the Bs.
Then, if you believe you are more likely to fall to a second lower class honours after your future 7 semesters, keep the B+.
If you believe you are more likely to be climbing towards a first class honours, SU one B+ and keep the other 2 SUs for the next semester.

Are we allowed to overload (taking 6 mods in a sem)? What are the procedures for doing so?

Yes, students are allowed to overload should they want to. Please write in to bizad1@nus.edu.sg to request for an overload. In addition, note that the 6th module can only be bid in Round 3A and 3B.

Hi, if i am a year 1 taking GER 1000 in semester 2 i can still SU the module with my carried over free SUs right? Because i hear conflicting views about this.

Yes, that is correct :) S/Us carried forward can be exercised on any level 1000 or 2000 module without prerequisites, including that of GER.
(However, S/U restrictions apply to some business modules depending on whether you are a BBA or BAC student. These are known as ringfenced modules, and BAC students have more restrictions on what can and cannot but S/U-ed.)

Hi, does the 8MCs worth of SUs that we can bring over to the next semester include GER1000?

Yes, it does. NUS Business School does not allocate an extra S/U for students taking GER because there is already the policy of carrying forward 2 S/Us that many other faculties do not enjoy.

Hey, similar to the case of 4B+, i have CAP 4 but in a diff grade combi (2B, 2A-, 1B+). Currently considering 3 options which gives the following (CAP) if i'm not wrong, but unsure of LR implications. #1, S/U both Bs(4.33), #2, S/U 1B(4.125) and #3 Don't S/U at all (4). Please advice! Thanks(:

Your choice of S/U will depends on two factors:
1. Whether or not you are confident of maintaining your CAP next semester
2. What class you are aiming for
As to point 1, if you are not confident of maintaining your grades next semester then we suggest that you keep your B+ and S/U 1B (#2). This pulls down your CAP but it adds cushion so that your CAP will not fluctuate as much if you do not do well next semester.
As to point 2, if you are confident of maintaining your grades, then S/U both Bs (#1) to raise your CAP for this semester.
#3 is not a good idea because it lowers and CAP more so than your other 2 options. Additionally, your 3 out of your 5 complementary S/Us for 1st years will be forfeited since we can only carry forward 2 S/Us. Hope that answers your question!

Hi. My sem 1 results are A, A- and 3B+. I am aiming for a second upper honours. Wondering if I should SU the B+ to get a higher cap. I foresee myself getting similar grades in the next semester if not worse. Do advise

Hi there! If you're aiming for a 2nd upper (4.00 - 4.49) then you should S/U the B+ since only gives a low 4.00 CAP per module. However, if you are no confident of maintaining your results then we suggest to S/U one or two out of your 3B+s so that your CAP will not be as vulnerable next semester :) Good luck!

Hi, if i am in BBA and DDP and UTCP, what is the max number of SUs i can carry forward to next sem?

8 MCs. However, any UTCP modules that are CS/U are have their S/Us counted separately from the 2 S/Us you may carry forward. For further clarification, please refer to the post immediately below this one.
