Hi, I am a poly grad. I heard that poly grad will automatically be exempted from 20mc of UE. From the previous post, it says that we will receive an email. May I know when I will receive the email and who should I look for if I did not receive any email?

Balloting for Business School starts on Iteration 2, after bidding closes. Please refer to the CORS website for more information!

Why I couldn't find any freshmen seminar module through cors? I checked last night under the unrestricted elective module, but there is no such module.

Hi, perhaps you could be more specific about the module you want to bid or appeal for? All freshmen seminars, or what we know as sectionals, should already be allocated to you. Please check your timetable in CORS.

Yes you may :) You should bid for your overloading modules in Round 3.

Hello, I'm pre allocated with 4 core modules and 1 GEM/UE (no credit module) , can I bid for ES1103 this semester ? Will I overload my timetable ? I've a band 2 for QET , it states ES1103/ES1102 , I've to take either one or both? What's the difference between these two modules ?

You cannot overload in Y1S1, so you should bid for ES1103 in Sem 2. You need only take ES1103, and the difference is that ES1102 was for the AY2015/16 batch while ES1103 is for the AY2016/17 batch.

Is it possible to start taking up internships at the end of Year 1?

Hi there, it really depends on the firm that you are applying for and whether they would accept you as an intern or not, since applications depend on your resume/CV. However, it is uncommon for Y1s to go for internships; most go for internships at the end of Y2.

Hello, may I know which account (P/G) should I use to bid for ES1103 module? Can I bid for sectionals not conducted in BIZ school but is under the same module code?

You should use your G account! Yes, you may bid for any sectional for ES1103 as long as you read the module.

Hi Im a BAC freshie and I am pre-allocated 5 mods = 20 MCs. So since I need to take ES1003, I can only bid for it in Y1S2 right? Is ES1003 available in Sem 2 anyway? Thank you!

ES1103 is offered in both semesters, but yes, you can read the module in Semester 2. Do note that not everyone has to take ES1103, only those who have a Band 2 or lower in the QET!

You should complete ES1103 as soon as possible (if you have a Band 2 in QET) as it is an NUS requirement, and a reasonable deadline would be by the end of Year 1. Under normal circumstances (i.e. no minors, no second specialisations), there is completely no need to overload. However, if you are taking ES1103, double specialisations or additional minors, you may need to overload at least once during your time in NUS.

Though im allowed to be exempted some mcs, can i opt not be exempted at all? Wouldnt it be better if i take the module and get a good grade for it ? Do many ppl do that? Thx

Yes, you may choose to do so; however, it is really not advisable as you will be spending a considerable amount of time on a module that you don't need to take, when in actual fact, you are able to clear your modules faster than the rest! Not many people will choose not to be exempted as it is viewed as a waste of time that could be put to better use.

Is ES1103 examinable? Does it affect the CAP?

Yes it does, and cannot be S/U-ed under the grade free first year.

Hi, freshies are not allowed to overload in Y1S1 if you are taking a single degree at the moment. Hence, you may choose to drop one of your core modules if you wish, but you will have to appeal through CORS and wait patiently for the results. You may provide your reasons during you submission of the appeal.

Confused BAC2 here. Who do i contact to switch my entire basket to another basket( accounting basket) I was first given a mutual swap form but i read from previous posts that entire bskt swap do not require another student Then i was told to appeal entire bskt during appeal day, which is too late??

You may email the BBA Office to request for an entire basket swop at any time, without a mutual swopping partner. Please refer to the CORS email sent out by the BBA Office for absolute instructions.

May I know if I can choose the ENG module (ES1103) timings according to my preference? Does the sectionals necessarily need to be conducted at BIZ school?

Yes, you will have to bid for the sectional that you want. Locations differ from semester to semester, so please utilize nusmods.com to help you with that.

Hi! From what I know, we are supposed to bid our GEMs in Round 2, however we are having camp during this period of time. How would we bid for our GEMs then?

You can bid for your GEMs during your lunch break or any short frames of time that you may have during the camp. Bidding rounds usually last from 0900 to 1700 so you will have plenty of time to bid :)

If I got band 2 for QET, do I have to take E1102 and E1103? Or do I only take either one of them?

You will have to take ES1103 only :)

Hi can lecture timings be chosen or must we follow the timing allocated to us?

You may choose to attend any lecture timing as attendance is not taken, but you should preferably inform the lecturer that you are doing so :)

It depends on how many biz modules you are allocated. If you are already allocated 4, then you should bid for ES1103 and not your GEM as the latter can be done next semester. In all, you should only have 5 modules :)

No, it is not automatic. You will be emailed by the BBA Office who will inform you of how many MCs you are exempted from.
