If you drop GER1000 and take LAK1201 instead, you will NOT be preallocated with GER1000 in the next semester; you will have to bid for it yourself. We discourage you from dropping GER1000 to take your language modules, and so the best way forward is to take LAK1201 in Sem 2 instead.

However, if you are a DDP/CDP/LPP student, you may overload for this semester and thus you may take LAK1201!

How do you know how many points you are supposed to bid? And bidding for GEMs open on monday right? what time? How about bidding for tutorials? Thanks!

Yes, Round 2A opens on Monday from 0900-1700 and you may bid for your GEMs. Balloting for tutorials begin on Iteration 2, 12th August.

Hi there! If you have modules in the lecture/tutorial format, you will still have to bid for the tutorials are they are not allocated to you. Only the lectures are.

And yes, if you have 20MCs this semester, you may only take ES1103 next semester.

Is MNO1001A module same as MNO1001C ? Can I swop the sectional timing of MNO1001C to MNO1001A then?

Hi BBA freshie here.Just to clarify, in Y1S1 S2, 4 core modules will be preallocated so we only need to bid for gems. Then in Y2 ,tgt with gems, we would bid and have our core modules or state our specialisation and have essential/elective mod. Y3 would be core, elective and uem, correct??

Hi there! Your first statement with regards to Y1 is correct. In Y2, you will still be pre-allocated your modules, but you will have to bid for GEMs as well. As for your elective modules, those can be taken at any time during your studying term in NUS. It is also NOT NECESSARY to declare your specialisation!

In Y3, you will mainly be doing your spec mods (under your programme requirements) as well as your UEs, and the last of your core mods (there should be only 1-2 left).

Hi, there is no secret bidding method! You just have to judge for yourself based on the highest and lowest bid points offered, the number of vacancies and the number of bidders for the module.

For example, if module A has 50 vacancies and there are 150 bidders, and the highest bid point is 1234 while the lowest is 1 point, you would expect that the top 50 bidders who are likely to get the module will bid in the high 800s-900s, and even 1000 points for the module. Hence, if you really want the module, you should bid around that range as well to compete with the higher bidders.

The bid points in the above illustration are inflated. PLEASE DO NOT USE ALL OF YOUR BID POINTS for a single module in your first year!

For both BBA and BAC students, some modules (which are in the lecture/tutorial format) will be preallocated to you. However, you will still need to ballot for the module's tutorials, since only the lecture is allocated.

So for honours we won't be "selected" for the honours programme? Just as long as we fulfill the requirements (which means we need to bid for more modules to fulfill MCS)?

Hi, there is no selection process to enter the Honours programme, as long as you fulfil the requirements. However, there are prerequisites to do an Honours Dissertation; please refer to the following website for more information:

Hi! BBA student here :) 1) If we were to take a double spec, would that constitute using our UEs to take biz mods? 2) For the first spec, we have to complete 3 compulsory mods + 3 other mods right? Does the same apply for the second spec, meaning 12 spec mods in total?

Yes, your UEs will be used for your second spec. And that is correct, the 3+3 module pattern works for all specs, regardless of whether is it the first or second. However, please note that specs for marketing takes a 2+4 pattern instead.

Hi, you are not allowed to drop BFS1001 without a good reason. And it is 0MC because it is not examinable :) If you wish to take LAK1201, you may overload if you have indicated interest for LPP prior to matriculation. Otherwise, you will have to take it next sem if you are already preallocated up to 20MCs of modules.

BFS1001 is a compulsory module for Business students implemented by the Career Services Office to help students improve their resume writing and personal selling skills. It is 0MCs because it is not graded, but it will still appear in your transcript.

No, you don't; you just have to use your UEs to take your spec modules from Y2 or Y3 onwards :)

That's 20MCs. You may check nusmods to view the MCs per module but usually each is 4MCs.
