Do you think this (ASK FM) is getting us closer to rab ji?

Where there are questions there is no love.
Where there is love there are no questions :)
Sikhi is beyond questions but if sangat are not listening to katha and reading gurbani then they won't move past the questioning stage. Gurbani & history answers the questions the sangat is asking.

According to Buddhism, there is 'no self'. "The notion of no-self may help reduce attachment to conceptions of the self or clinging to various self-aspects, whether some image of oneself, one’s sense of superiority due to some skill or talent."(The Existential Buddhist). Does Sikhi have same views?

Naam, we chant naam and desire naam, a breakdown of the word is naa meh which means without myself.
We can only get name from our satguru, therefore releasing that nothing is within or hands or doing... This is the beginning to the breakdown of the self.
When ego is removed then we can merge back into Vaheguru (God, Ram, Allah, ultimate energy)

I know one amritdhai uncle who have great faith in some saint baba, and he wanted me to meet him when baba visits his place once in a year for kirtan. But I don't feel like doing mathha tek to Babas. How should I react to uncle Ji. Am i right?

A true sant/mahapurak won't care if you don't metha tek
What's their name? Maybe do
Some research on them and see what their vichar is.
We can always take the best qualities from sangat :)

I get up everyday at 4am .....after doing panj bania is it ok to go back to sleep? Or is this wrong? (I work full time)

It's fine, try focus on Vaheguru when you go back to sleep :)

even though im a Sikh, am I allowed to say as-salaamu alaykum to my muslim brothers?

Do they say Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru ji ji fateh back?
Look up Chotea shaibziade sakhi when they roared the above greeting

I have these three birds at home and i love them but my family says its bad to keep them because its paap i dont think so because i take good care of them by taking them out of the cage just so they can play and feeding them properly what do you think paaji ?

If they don't affect your Sikhi then theirs no problem.
as you progress in your Sikhi and naam
Jap then you need make sure you keep your suchum on point, especially when dealing with animals.
Just keep clean :)

what does `Maule dhartee Maule Aksah ` (shabad) mean ?

That everything is blooming, blooming meaning gleaming in beauty
Guru sahib is shining their beauty through everything part of the world. Wherever you look, be it the earth or the sky you can see their light enveloped in all.
That's just one meaning.

VJKK VJKF! If I want to do more Jaap Sahib, can I do it at night? Thanks

Vjkk vjkfateh
Hanji veer Ji go for it
I would suggesting going through meanings and trying to Veechar on the gurbani.
Also listen to katha on jaap sahib - Giani kulwant Singhs is amazing

Gore friend ask me some time. Do Sikhs believe in theory of evolution?

We don't go out right saying Yh this is our belief but it doesn't conflict with gurbani.
Remember theories are only scientists thought process.... They haven't been proven final yet.
But there's no conflict with what gurbani says

Can Sikhs do Bhangra or giddha?

Nah - draw that energy onwards and let your inside dance with the love of Vaheguru .
When we begin to feel the true taste of naam then we won't need to dance with the body.... Our inside will be in ecstasy.

When people say Naam Japna. Does that mean sit down and just receit Waheguru with pure focus or can that be Satnam Waheguru as well or both??

Naam jap is to say it with your mouth so yh this the Vaheguru mantar.
You can sit and do it if it keeps you focused but always try to remember vahegures name in your day to day activities and then your will reach the avasta of Simran (constant remembrance)

I am a. English Christian born of English Parents can I convert to Sikhi?

Yes we welcome all, there isn't really a procedure to convert.
Begin to delve into SGGS JI and Sikh history as well as chanting gods name (Vaheguru) and begin japji Shaib prayers in the morning as a start.
Aim to be baptised with Amrit
There's a whole resource of videos available on our YouTube channel for you to learn about sikhism and what the prayers mean :)

Can you do an explain of the shabad awwal Allah ( sorry if it is spelt wrong)

aval aleh noor oupaaeiaa kudharath kae sabh ba(n)dhae ||
First, Allah (the one God) created the Light; then, by His Creative Power, He made all mortal beings.
eaek noor thae sabh jag oupajiaa koun bhalae ko ma(n)dhae ||1||
From the One Light, the entire universe welled up. So who is good, and who is bad? ||1||

vjkk vjkf. I was planing on going to the shooting range every weekend. Is there a specific bani or tuk I should recite before I use the weapon?

VJKK VJKF. There's nothing specific but this is a suitable Shabad:
As kirpan khando kharag tupak tabar aru tir
Saif sarohi saihthi, yahai hamarai pir:
The sword, the sabre, the scimitar, the axe, the musket, the shaft.
The rapier, the dagger, the spear: these indeed are our saints.

How can I not be scared of going to work with a turban and kesh as everyone is used to me without?

It's the same nearly everyone, you won't believe how much respect you'll get by wearing a dastaar, it's truly unbelievable. Keep faith in your Guru and the Guru's gift of a crown.
