Is it too late to grow my hair and wear a turban? I'm 17 and do I need to take Amrit? Or can I just grow my hair and wear a turban? thank you

It's never too late jee... if you have a bucket with a string walling into a well, and say there is just an inch of string left on the top, you can pull that string and save the whole bucket. In the same way it's never too late! You don't need to take Amrit to wear Dastaar and keep Kesh ji .

How to handle airport security checks

In regrads to Dastaar they should use a sensor to scan. Rest just take it ji.

Is it okay if we r reading a pangti of guru ram das ji but in out mind I'm imagining guru nanak dev ji or another one of our gurus?

Hanji there's only one light in all Guru's...

VJKK VJKF! A lot of your answers are "what would Guru Gobind Singh Ji do", or words to that effect. Don't take this the wrong way - GGSJ didn't brush his teeth and floss 2 times a day, does this mean we should not brush and floss either?

Vjkk vjkfateh,
some of the questions are about being confident with your own sikhi. Sometimes people need to ask themselves themselves what my gurus would. The Arte of guru being someone who takes you from darkness to light.
With some things we don't want to just give our opinion on a matter which can be quite controversial.

(Bhai Mardana Ji) 'Make virtue your bread, good conduct the ghee, and modesty the meat to eat.' This does not mean eat meat it says make modesty your meat i.e instead of eating meat be modest. How about ANG1350 'You say that the One Lord is in all, so why do you kill chickens?'

that's how I interpret it ji

Vjkk Vjkf ji,,from where do I get the right knowlege of 1984 and Sant Jernail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.. Many have Interperated the wrong image of sant ji.. So i am not satisfied..

Vjkk vjkfateh, we will have a video coming out soon so you watch that.
Also never forget 1984 etc are great websites. Google his name you will be able to tell what sources are good and not.

Amrit Vehla is 12am - 6am which is considered the most sacred time but this occurs at different times around the world. Someone living in the UK may have Amrit Vehla 6 hours after someone in America. Please could you explain how Amrit Vehlas can occur at diff times but still be a sacred time. Thanks

Vjkk vjkfateh
we forget this is the gurus game and the gurus world. We are like chess pieces on the board who are under his hukam (divine law).
Some Singhs keep Amrit vayala when the sun rises and some keep the 12 to 6. What you need to understand about Amrit vayla it is when no1 else is awake and there is stillness. At this time all you may hear is nature & animals calling for vaheguru.
The importance for us is that it is hukam... he can turn the taps of Amrit on for anyone... there's an avasta where every moment become like Amrit vayala but the Singhno who reach this still wake up between 12am-6am

Nope ji - the Khalsa should be working in all different fields. But don't get too attached to one thing.

Is it okay for a sikh to eat veggie food in places that serve meat or halal meat ?

Personally no, up to your own love but most restaurants touch meat and veggie food so it gets contaminated.

when someone asks why sikhs keep your hair.. what is the proper answer?

Say if you look at Jesus he had long hair, Mohammed had long hair and so did many Hindu Gods. Our Guru is so compassionate that he himself blessed his Sikhs with his very own form. Whereas other religious prophets/leaders/Gods kept the roop to themselves.
We don't do anything to keep our hair. We just let it flow how it's meant to be, ask why do you cut your hair to modify yourself?

What do we do if kesh gets burnt a bit (by accident) is it kurehit? Thanks ji

Its different if we truely didn't mean to. Would recommend asking a Gursikh or Panj Pyare.

VJKK VJKF - Why do no paintings / drawings / portraits of any Gurus exist from their own times? Are the pictures we use now days just made up?

VJKK VJKF - Guruji never wanted us to be attached to a physical body, the Shabad was always Guru. Hanji , the pictures we see of Guru Nanak Dev Ji nowadays are completely inaccurate as Guru Nanak would've been young and fit when traveling.

Is it possible to choose your own panj pyare for the Amrit Sanchar ceremony? e.g. if you personally know five outstanding Singhs, can you ask them to be the panj pyare and bestow Amrit unto you?

There's no difference between any Panj Pyarey they are the roop of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. We shouldn't go looking for our own Panj jee.

WJKK WJKF I just wanted to know....how do you interpret a hukamnama to apply it to your own life? To me it seems quite deep and I have difficulty in applying it to answer my questions, worries, wishes etc

WJKK WJKF! Daas (servant) heard that once you read a Hukamnama you will get an interpretation of the meaning in your own context. You may think that it's just your own mind but accept it as Vaheguru speaking through your conscience. Whatever you make of it at first look accept that.
If you really struggle to understand then try and find the Hukamnama Katha or get someone to translate in context.
