VJKK VJKF why is god/waheguru refered to as "He" in the guru granth sahib? surely go has no form, including gender?

VJKK VJKF - God has no gender at all, the Gurmukhi in Guru Granth Sahib Jee doesn't mention a direct indication of gender but the English translation puts it as He because although God has no absolute gender, is a relational sense, they are like a husband to all of us. We are the bride to God. So we are the females and God like the husband. Don't get confused, English translation cant do justice to Gurumukhi.

Why would someone who is Amritdhari feel suicidal? what can one do to stop the thoughts?

Anyone can feel suicidal regardless of being Amritdhari or not ji. To stop this we must keep our self in control from the 5 thieves - Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Ego, it is these that are the cause of such thoughts. The root of all these is ego as it makes experience duality which in actual fact isn't real but we convince ourselves that we are separate from Vaheguru and their Hukam. Suicide will make us think that we have power to take our own life however in Japji Sahib it says - "Jor na jeevan, Maran na jor." we have no power to live or to do its all him and if we accept that we would lose such suicidal thoughts. Anyway, what will we actually achieve from suicide when we came here to be - Lok Sukhee, Parlok Suhele. Live happy in this life and in joy after so to pick yourself up start reading more Bani - Chaupai Sahib for protection. Make sure you keep regular Sangat if not watch videos from the channel as we are living in Kaljug, and need a push to improve our Sikhi Jeevan which can be done quickly with the right Sangat. Stay blessed , stay in chardi Kala. VJKK VJKFateh..!

Is it wrong to dye your kesh? You're not cutting it, right... or wrong? confused.com

Vaheguru ji - we keep our Kesh accepting Vaheguru's Hukam so by dyeing hair you are still changing it from the way it was meant to be naturally. I'm sure you wouldn't see having plastic surgery to change skin colour acceptable - Kesh is living too jee. If you are a man then we would say that any dyeing is wrong. If a woman dyes the hair on her head or arms, then again that’s wrong. Some women do get a lot of kesh on their face and feel a lot of pressure and torment. If they dye their hair to make it less noticeable, then although its not ideal, its still not being done to look younger etc and its still better than removing the kesh. They should seek advice from punj piare and also seek council of other Singhnees in such matters.

The Guru Granth Sahib has the writings of many bhagats and saints. Who was the first to walk on this Earth, before Guru Nanak? Was it Fareed, Naam Dev?

Hanji, there were Bhagats/Bhatts (saints) who were enlightened before Guru Nanak Dev Ji who gave Darshan at the time of the Fifth Guru to have their Bani in Guru Granth Sahib Ji (Adi Granth). Sheikh Fareed Ji was the earliest Bhagat from SGGS around 1173 – 1265.
However, its important to note that the Truth in Bani has been around since the very beginning. In all the Jugs there have been bhagats who followed the path of Naam.

So heaven for us is merging with god?

There are levels of existence beyond the earthly existence. The good ones (heaven) is called Amarpuri where the soul lives on. The bad ones (hell) are temporary and designed for us to learn a lesson and pay for our bad actions. There are levels here as well of both good and bad. Our aim as a Sikh is beyond heaven as we aim to reach God while alive - Jivan Mukat and that's when we completely lose our sense of I (ego) and merge into the one. This is the highest level of heaven and we don’t have to wait for death for this.

How to dispose of a old dastaar??

Agan Bhet - It seems inappropriate to dispose of them in the garbage or to use them as rags or cleaning cloths, which is the usual desi way old clothes go. Same way we burn dead hairs.

WJKK WJKF, I've discovered Sikhi a week ago and feel like I found my way with the Guru, I've started to change my behaviour and began with meditation but how can I commit more into Sikhi when there are no gurdwaras around my place neither Sikhs (I've never met one to be honest)?

WJKK WJKF, Guru has shown Kirpa on you Jee, without fortune one cannot meet such a complete and perfect Guru. It's all a sign that Guru Jee has his hand on your hand by you changing your behavior. You can commit to Sikhi firstly start following the Sikh lifestyle - wake up early do your Simran (meditation) and start with Japji Sahib you can just listen to it to start off. Evening time - Rehras Sahib, and Kirtan Sohila before sleeping. This is a basic Nitnem (daily routine) which every Sikh should be trying to keep.

Regards to Sangat (company) if there is no Gurdwara near you then keep the online Sangat for now and if Guru blesses you then you will meet Gursikhs. Start listening to the Japji Sahib Katha in English which covers a lot of the basics....

Can a Sikh be in a non sexual relationship with another Sikh of the opposite gender?

nope.... leads to attachment and lust.
It doesn't work out Ji. See each other as brothers, sisters, daughters and sons.

I'm a 24 year old Sikh with natural beard and i wear a turban. I am in a relationship with a white Christian girl we both want to take it to the next level. Since Sikhi doesnt believes in conversion, would it be alright for me to marry her ? please answer.

a sikh should marry a sikh in front of guru granth sahib Ji... because if you have children then how will you raise them? with a bit of both because that's like having multiple relationships and eventually all of this will cause problems.
Also problems can occur between you two regarding religion because sikhi is your life rather than when you just do paath.
also if you marry in front of guru granth sahib maharaj when you are doing prakarma and laavae are being read then you two will be making a promise in front of guru Ji. If your partner isn't making that same promise then you are making false promises ji

Judging that Sikhs arnt allowed to eat halal, can you please Do a video to the sangat that they shouldn't be eating it. Especially after a night of clubbing. Most takeaway shops are halal espesh in London. I'd really like the young sangat to know halal is against sikhi as there mindset is it's just

Are Sikhs allowed to eat halal and beef? , myself I don't. however I know a lot of Sikhs do. A lot of jatt eat beef an halal and it's something id really like to be known to the duniyah

we have answered countless question on this about meat.
Rehat maryada says no halal meat but when you go in front of panj pyaree they will say no meat.
but if you have the abilty to his creation with your own hands then go and eat meat.... but understand that you can come back as an animal and killed like that countless times.
We all need to start with just japping naam.... then this illusion we are in will be unveiled.

A basic question: Bhai Sahib, you always refer to our Guru Sahib's as THEY. Just curious. Why not just say "GuruJi went and did this" instead of "They went and did this" -- they're all the same jot, which you have mentioned countless times. So, I would greatly value your insight on this subject.

not everyone will understand this and it helps differentiate between the gurus for people Ji.

its not a physical heaven in the clouds with a gate... but a merging with the one. so imagine yourself as a droplet of water returning to the ocean. you the droplet once merged into the ocean cannot be taken back out and you will have become part of the bigger picture.

I've lived as a sehajdhari most of my life. I don't think I can go to my grave like this, I need to either take Amrit or I need to cut my hair and live a secular life. Having a hard time deciding. Any thoughts?

Hardeep Singh
there's various ones Ji.. some people try spending hours contemplating what he is but he's beyond our minds and thoughts or it can be do with cleaning in various religious rivers etc.
gurbani is wicked because it can mean so much and as you develop on this journey guru ji may bless you with more meanings ji

Why does Guru Nanak refer to himself in his bani? Different translations render this differently; as 'O Nanak' or 'Says Nanak' (or any derivation thereof). The word 'says' is generally omitted in gurmukhi, but I can't understand why he would say O Nanak, singing shabads in public. Which is correct?

he normally talks about himself.... if you read through the gurbani you will notice how he calls himself lowly etc.
but at that time the speech and poetry would have been diffrent to now
