Regarding the uni of bham question, it's because I'm starting my degree there in September and am interested in sikhi. I'm a big fan of basics of sikhi I find it very educational and inspiring God bless. Should I join the society since I don't have any Sikh friends?

Vjkk vjkfateh,
definitely join up, the sangat at the university has definitely increased and there will be weekly programs on.

How does one ask for pesh from the Panj Pyaare ? p/s I can't speak punjabi too well, so idk if it's okay to ask in english :/

Depending where you are ask someone outside the Amrit Sanchaar - there's usually someone who helps with queries outside. If not take someone who can speak Punjabi with you but Panj Pyare may also understand some English.

What's your views on Babeh do you think there real there's a few in England

You never know who a Sant is, it's not that you just wear a Chola and become a Sant. Guru Arjan Dev Ji tells us:
Those who do not forget the Lord, with each breath and morsel of food, whose minds are filled with the Mantra of the Lord's Name - they alone are blessed; O Nanak, they are the perfect Saints. ||1||
Wouldn't doubt the fact of there being true "Babeh" in England.

As a Sikh , should I be careful what I chose to watch on TV ? should I avoid programes that encourage me to break the rehat ?

Definitely, what we see is what we become and eyes take in 80% of our information. Would definitely avoid dramas and programs taking us away from Sikhi.

Other than Raj Karega Khalsa akhi rehe na koi - Are there any other prophecies told by the Gurus?

Hanji - we have a few main slogans: Degh Tegh Fateh, Panth Ki Jeet, Raaj Karega Khalsa.
Degh Tegh Fateh is about giving everyone the basic needs, food (degh) and protection (tegh). Would recommend checking out this video:

Panth Ki Jeet is about victory to the Panth.

Is chola the easier option , than taking amrit for someone coming into sikhi ?

You could say that but we still should keep Rehat with Chola and build up to Amrit.

Why do you need to wear Indian clothes in a Gurdwara?

the clothes that you should wear should be humbling. What we forget these days is the Gurdwara is where the GURU is.
When we fall in front of the guru we want to be in clothes that are simple and not flashy... because we go front of them to beg.
Sometimes even some clothes which are termed Indian etc can be revealing so their not really humbling.

How accurate are the translations of Gurbani? What is the most accurate translation? Are there any controversial misinterpreted verses?

The standard sikhitothemax translations are real basic and they definitely won't do justice. Gurbani can be interpreted in many ways and some Mahapurakhs come out with translations from a completely different view. Best to learn from Gurbani Steeks, also Taksal is very good for Gurbani meanings as it leads to how Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself explained it. People can and have changed Gurbani meanings so there are many controversial interpretations.

Is Sikhism more of a legalistic religion (do this do that and you're set for life) or a more dharmic/find your inner soul/peace sort of religion?

that's a very long question to answer to be honest with you so the above videos will defiantly help.
Sikhi is a path which has rules to follow I.e. not to cut you hair... but. behind each rule there's a nugget of gold... a reason why we don't do this for example and once you realise it and accept it then the illusion is wiped away and the truth becomes clear.
Sikhi is very deep and is an experience... begin by meditating on gods name (Vaheguru) which will also help us to see through the illusion.

I've been watching your video's for a while. And it's officially been a year since I last drank alcohol or had pre marital sex. I really appreciate your sewa - and it has really reinforced my Sikhi.

Dhan Guru Nanak. All Guru's Kirpa ji!

Not so much a question but more of an addition to the why do Sikhs keep hair question. First we see it as a gift from waheguru as it grows all our life, and from a Nihang point of view each hair represents a shaheed

How many sevadaars are answering the questions as there seems to be difference in opinions? For example the question regarding eating meat is ok. Would it be better if sevadaars put an initial or other indication behind each answer so that admins I know who answered?

hanji there are quite a few.
Just suggest it to the team so should be on it now Ji.

Why aren't u answering my questions????

Vjkk.vjkfateh,
very sorry but we have work and exams etc.
with maharaj kirpa we will answer them all.
You need to understand we need to make answers and contemplate all of this in our minds as well. Also put ourselves in the shoes of the individual.
Also a lot of the questions have already been answered.

How to handle airport security checks while wearing sri sahib ? Do we need to remove sri sahib and go for pesh ?

On aeroplane we all have to take off Kirpans but that's just the way the system is. Personally I doesn't eat with any Kakkars off as they are Angs (limbs), when you get to destination put on Kirpan and do Japji Sahib and Ardaas for forgiveness.

How is the chola different to the normal amrit ceremony ?

5 Baniya are still read but only 1 drop of Amrit is given instead of 5 in mouth, eyes and Dasam Duar.

I feel sometimes I get the experience of god and sometimes I don't, what should I do

We shouldn't just live Sikhi for that experience, we will become attached to that experience. Do it out of love and see the attachment as a by-product and thank Vaheguru if you get it don't. Sometimes you won't get the experience for a long time, just accept it.

If you stop doing paat does it mean youve broken your amrit?

A doctor doesn't just get the name doctor - it comes from what they did to achieve it, In the same way a Khalsa can't just label themselves a Khalsa, we've got to keep Rehat which includes Nitnem.
If you've missed quite a lot of Nitnem for some time then you should go Pesh ji or you can get back and start your routine again and do extra Paaths ji.
