VJKK VJKF! I was watching TWGC Topic #7 Part B and I was wondering about how you mentioned Guruji "tested" people before allowing them to take Amrit. Do you think that's part of the problem with our Panth now? That they will allow almost anyone to take Amrit?

VJKK VJKF! Exactly - Bhai Sahib Bhai Randheer Singh Ji made Abhilakees who wanted to take Amrit sit through an entire Akhand Path. Nowadays anyone can take amrit, amrit is a blessing that is priceless.

VJKK VJKF! You cant make a deal with Vaheguru, remember God isn't an old man in the sky but ever present everywhere. Things happen because of our Karma however if we do good then we can erase this Karma.

What is sikh view on why people are starving/suffering. And natural disasters is the worst thing-why does god do this? Is god a personal god ie he helps those who he wants??

Many religions cannot explain this, in Sikhi the answer is simple - Karma. Whatever we planted in our previous lives that is what we are sowing in this life.

Gurfateh, I'm an Amritari and engaged. I met up with my fiancé and we almost took things too far. I kissed her on the cheek but luckily it didn't go any further. I feel really bad, should I go to panj piare and explain the situation or should I do Ardas is Maharaj's Hazoori to ask for forgiveness.

VJKK VJKF! Whatever you feel is best, would recommend seeing Panj Piare for your good if you can. Also do a personal Ardas for forgiveness.

I have very bad health anxiety (sacred of catching disease) and its been out of control lately ( I wash my hands like 4 times before eating because I'm afraid of getting sick). Which Bani should I read in order to gain mental strength and reduce these fears?

Its just your mind playing on you really, try and rise above it. Keep a consistent Nitnem and read Chaupai Sahib for protection.

VJKK VJKF! Chandi di Vaar will give you proper Bir Rass! Read any Dasam Bani for Bir Rass, also Chaupai Sahib.

i want to grow my hair and wear a pagh/patka but not take amrit as i dont feel i can make that commitment, is it still acceptable?

You can take small steps, keep your Kesh and along with Dastaar make sure you have Vichaar of Guru (knowledge) then you will be pure outside and inside. Keep Rehat and build up in your own time to Amrit.

My Dad keeps telling me that I should keep my hair when I'm 18 , but I'm 16 now and really want to keep my Kesh now , otherwise I will eventually lose my interest in Sikhi , what should I do ?

Do what you feel is best. Forget about 2 years time how can we even guarantee our next breath coming! If you want to make that dedication to Guru Sahib then do it while you can, don't delay. Educate your Dad about Sikhi with love.

wjkwjf, veerji in christian they have exorcism to fight again negative energy, spirit so how does sikhi help to remove or fight against this type of black magic and similiar negative things.

VJKK VJKF! Guru Sahib has saved us from all types of black magic by blessing us with the Sarbloh (iron) Kara. People with black magic powers make sure the victim has no iron on their body as their powers will not work. If we ever do come across any of these things we should start Jaap of Bani/Naam and we wont be affected.

I need your help to start an online petition. So I was in central london about to go into the night club and the security said to me I have to take my Kirpan off. I was so discussted, it's the 21st century and night clubs are not allowing Amritdhari sikhs like myself in with kirpans.

Vaheguru! You were saved, just as Bhai Joga Singh who was falling into the pit of hell. We shouldn't be going to such places anyway, be grateful for being saved.

Parents are making me get married to someone who is in the same caste as me. Even though there is no caste system in sikhi. Shall I follow my parents wishes or decide my own path? Do parents always know what's right?

Caste is completely abolished in Sikhi. You should follow your own path and don't base it on caste as it doesn't really mean much. A human being is always subject to error, we should follow our Guru who IS perfect.

As a Sikh we should accept Hukam and except death when it comes, we shouldn't really be taking our own life.
