I have come back into rehat maryada after 12 years, I was young and fell into wrong sangat. Panj pyare have given me thankaa when i went pesh but a lot of gursikh folk still frown upon me even making comments on how I've done it once will do again, sangat is important how do I gain it back?

First of all realize that we cant do anything on our own, its all a blessing ji. That's a very long time to come back to Rehat but don't look back now, just keep going forward and thank Guruji for putting you back on the path. Your probably in the "boy who cried wolf" situation where no-one believes you can keep your Rehat but keep going and prove you can.
Again sangat is a real blessing too, and whatever sangat you keep it's guaranteed that that's how'll you become. Find Gursikhs and explain to them that you need help/support to stay on the path and they're bound to help you. Don't get to bothered about any comments made - take it as kirpa. Remember to ardas for good sangat that wil save you.

What is the actual timing of Amrit vehla? I assume that I should wake up anytime before sunrise and start my meditation. Is it also necessary to finish all my meditation and nitnem before sunrise.

Vaheguru - amrit vela is the last Pehar (3 hour split) of the night so 3-6AM but many Gursikhs will say 12-6AM which is also fine because if you're up before the last pehar and do your Naam then that's more laha (spiritual benefit) as the Vela of Amrit comes up.
We should aim before sunrise and we don't necessarily HAVE TO finish Nitnem exactly before sunrise as it fluctuates throughout the year but if you do that in your own love then you will get even more laha.

What is the Dasam Granth? What is Guru Granth Sahib Ji?

Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the living Guru for Sikhs. It contains writing of 6 Guru's and has come straight from God. Sri Dasam Granth Ji is the Bani (respectful way of saying writings) of the tenth Guru (last human Guru) - Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

What does the word 'har' mean?

Va He Gu Ru - four parts and the mantar 'Hari' is from the second age of Treta, Means nourisher (Hariya karan vala), destroyer (Haran vala) and also a name of Vishnu.

What do you do if you miss your nitnem on one day ? Can you do two the next day ?

Make sure that doesn't become a habit but for a one-off if you do miss it for some reason then definitely do 2 the next day. Make sure you take care of your Nitnem as it's very precious.

Satsrikal paaji... I have serious issue of concentrating while doing japji sahib ji, my mind is thinking about every issue. Please suggest some method to improve my concentration.

Ajaypal
SSA Ji! Please tell me... lol. You're not the only one, one who control his mind has won the whole word - Man Jeetai Jag Jeet, A good way is to focus on the meanings of the Thukh when reading - you can get meaning briefly from English translations or in more detail on our channel.
If you get a chance, try the Japji Sahib game. Start from 'Ik OangKaar' and whenever you're mind wonders start from 'Ik OangKaar' again, see how long it takes to reach 'Jinee Naam Dhiyaha!' :D

It is clear that a number of Guru Maharajas hunted and presumably ate meat. If an ordinary man were to do the same would he go to hell?

Vjkk vjkfateh,
No Ji, guru Ji was vahegurus light on this world.
the reason he did this was to give them mukhti from their present form so they could move on.
to even be struck by the guru is a blessing in itself Ji.
Looking at the beginning of SGGS then we see that it begins with Ek, and this Ek refers to seeing vaheguru in everything, then how could you kill vaheguru?

Which is an easy way to remember japji sahib

Listen to it every day and hold Gutka Sahib in romantised or Gurmukhi if you can understand. You'll be amazed how fast you learn.

is it ok to take kacherra off at time of giving birth ? or in similar situations.

Best thing to do is keep it on body and tie to bottom of leg/foot.

What is the 4th state in ashpati 16 in sukhmani sahib. How do you know you reached there

Sukhmani Sahib is a very simple but extraordinarily deep Bani ji. The 4th astpadi stresses the need for good behavior, so the 4th stage is when we get Bibek Budh which is when we lose all sense of duality and realize God is near at hand. We will then easily be able to differentiate between Gurmat and non-Gurmat and walking on on the Gurmat path.

Do sikhs have a concept of hell?

Heavens and hells do exist but all temporary. One hell is a place we may go after death but think about the other meaning of hell. We could be on this earth and still in hell as we aren't really living - we are living in hell whilst physically alive.
One who forgets God and forsakes the Guru, falls into the most horrible hell. ||3||

VJKKVJKF. Waheguru the gurmantar is guru's mantar, so is it true that the guru (in the form of the 5 pyare) gives you naam during the amrit sanchar? So basically, is doing naam simran for a non-amritdhari meaningless? Less effective? The same thing? Thank you (please be honest)

Jasraj Singh
VJKK VJKF - not saying you don't get anything from Naam before Amrit but a great Gursikh once said: before Amrit all the Seva, Bani, Naam you do it gets written as '000000' and adds '0' each time you do it. But when you take Amrit a '1' goes in front of that! So all that naam comes in use, but don't just think that's it, you will get blessings before Amrit too !

Haven't found any videos on the Basics of Sikhi page (maybe I haven't looked hard enough) I know that female infanticide is completely not permitted, but what is the Sikh view point on abortion? If the child is going to be born with serious disabilities? Child as a result of rape?

;) - Q5- Views on organ donation, blood transfusion and abortion? 29:53

Are you going to do katha of any Sri Dasam bani anytime soon ?

Jaap Sahib, Chaupai Sahib and Tav Prasad Savaiye Katha is on channel now Jee!
(More to come ONLY with Guru's Kirpa)

is it true that human fertilization is explained in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, about the female egg and the males sperm and is it coherent with science

Hanji - there are loads of Shabads in Guru Granth Sahib Jee about this:
agan binb jal bheethar nipajae kaahae kanm oupaaeae ||1||
We are formed from the fire of the womb within, and the bubble of water of the sperm. For what purpose are we created? ||1||
But remember Gurbani is beyond Science.

Wjk wjkf .....is that must for the sikh to do kirtan sohila before sleeping??

WJKK WJKF - If you were ill and you didn't take the medicine then you'd get worse. In the same way we are stuck in Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh, Ahankaar and we need the medicine of Gurbani to be cured. Kirtan Sohila is also important as you are protected throughout the night,

WJKK WJFK is god outside of time and can see see him when we reach sach khand?

VJKK VJKF! In Mool Mantar it says 'Akaal Moorat,' - Vaheguru timeless and without form Jee. God is not an old man with a beard sitting above the clouds Jee, beyond our limits. When we merge into God like a drop of water merges with the ocean then we will be one.

What if the kashera gets off during greesti jeevan?

If Kacchera ever comes off one must get Pesh to Panj Pyare Jee, Kacchera is a gift.

Wjkk wkjf.. What is bir rass? What does it mean?

WJKK WJKF - English language cannot do justice to describing it but it's not anger but sort of anger in a positive way - sort of rage with good energy. Perfect example would be what Mata Bhag Kaur felt when 40 Mukhte returned deserting Guru Ji.

How should a Sikh celebrate his/her birthday ?

Do you have to go pesh for masturbation even though controlling kaam is hard as a teenager? Or is begging for forgiveness while doing areas enough?

Vaheguru - it depends really on an individual. You can be forgiven by Ardaas but there's no point if you keep on repeating the mistake. The fact that it's a physical action it would be best to go to 5 Pyare Jee.
Sad state of the Khalsa to see what's happening nowadays. Its not hard just because of age - the Khalsa was meant to be Nyara (distinct), Bhaji would give advice to start keeping good Sangat and reading more Bani. There are Q&A's on our channel about Kaam and controlling it...
