Is it okay to listen kirtan after sohila sahib?

I sometimes leave kirtan on over night or sukhmani sahib on repeat.
But I would urge you to be in bed with eyes close ready to go sleep. Kirtan sohila should basically be your last action before sleep.

When you die will your soul keep the memories of your most recent life ? waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fathe great job btw thanks to gurus kirpa with me finding your channel you guys have changed my life <3

Your soul now has the Karam (Karma) of ALL your past lives so that's why we do Simran, read Gurbani, Seva etc. to wash odd all this dirt.

What's the difference between nitnem and naam? Is doing nitnem in the morning 5banis good to begin with ? Or should I be doing Waheguru jaap along with that ? Sorry I'm new to this. I'm actually sorting my self out with Guru's kirpa and hope that Guru sahib blesses me with Amrit.

Vaheguru - that's Kirpa ji! Guru Raam Daas ji clears it up for us:
FOURTH MEHL: One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord’s Name. Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar. Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased. Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord’s Name. One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food — that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru’s Mind. That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is kind and compassionate — upon that GurSikh, the Guru’s Teachings are bestowed. Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of that GurSikh, who himself chants the Naam, and inspires others to chant it. ||2||
Simran then Gurbani jee.

VJKK VJKF. How to deal with corrupt Gurdwara committee members. Knowing things they've have done things that is wrong on many levels. How to deal with such people?

VJKK VJKF! This is common nowadays, but we youth need to change our mentality. The Gurdwara committee members have done a lot for us by getting these Gurdwarey open. We need to approach them with respect and let them know what needs to be done. Get the youth together in the Gurdwara and set up Sikhi youth classes/forums where you can all get together once a week and discuss Sikhi together, we need to step up and start educating each other. Its the lack of knowledge that people get from going to the Gurdwara that needs to change.

What is the best way to teach a 4 year old about sikhi, god and put them on a spiritual path. The concept of god is probably difficult to comprehend. He loves your 'First Steps Book' - by the way.

Would highly recommend out 'Mighty Khalsa - Kids' playlist on our channel. We have 10 videos so far with more to come, got Katha for kids and also songs...

Could you please tell me what lines Guru Gobind Singh wrote in the Guru Granth Sahib.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Bani is in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib.

I usually do path sitting crossed leg on the floor. However, when I' m tired I find it easier on a chair. Is this disrespectful.

nope that's fine Ji... sometimes I walk around and do nitnem because I fall asleep whilst sitting on the floor

Gods ever flowing pen as in Jap ji sahib is changing your karma. Does this manifest to changes in the lines on your hands, your forehead or both.

both, as you read gurbani and contemplate but then move on to apply it your life then your karma are being wiped away.

I think of the 5 chors as forms of desire. Even anger as this is the desire to achieve a particular outcome which fits in with our plans. Do you agree ?

ultimately the chor are led by ego... if your ego is hurt you become angry and if you insides are burning in jealously because somebody has something that you desire then there is the effect of kaam.

Is it wrong to do mata tek to a brahm giani eg Baba Isher Singh, Baba Nand Singh , Gurbachan Singh Bhindrawale etc

nope its fine Ji... do it off how they feel and if that mahapurak attaches them to SGGS Ji

Did any of the Gurus have more than one wife?

hanji....some gurus had more than 1 wife.
for example guru Har rai had 8 as his wives were deities in their passed lvies and wanted to marry vaheguru. Hence they did.
If you don't understand these concepts then do Ardas and ask that one day we will understand this. Therefore don't doubt the gurus as they were from a place beyond what our small minds cans understand.

VJKK VJKF . How can we do seva. Can u give some examples.

VJKK VJKF! Seva is when we serve others with complete and utter selflessness with nothing in return. There are many types of Seva - washing dishes, cleaning, Chorr Sahib, Kirtan etc. are all typical types of Seva. However Parchaar is also a big seva, just simply spreading the love.
In Gurbani it says, 'Sant Kee Seva, Naam Dhiyaiye,' which means the Seva for Saints is to Jap Naam, VAHEGURU!

approximate optimum age for Sikhs to marry?

Back in the days it would be once someone is 16 they have full responsibilities and married but now we've delayed it. 20-30 would be ideal.

I think 90% of the questions asked here are about kaam.tv, Internet, music are playing a big role and taking us away from sikhi. but you guys are god sent and actually trying to make us aware of this and helping the young generations. please dont stop this and keep up the gud work u doing for sikhi

Its funny because when Guru Nanak Dev Ji met Kaljug in a physical form he came with two things in either hand - tongue and private parts. Kaljug said these are the two powers that he comes through. Most questions are about these two on here.
It's all Guru's Kirpa we do nothing at all...
I am just a fool, but millions of sinners just like me have been saved. Those who have heard, and seen Guru Nanak, do not descend into the womb of reincarnation again. ||4||2||13||

Is the use of contraception permitted in Sikhi? I.e between married couples for family planning.

How can I control Lust? - Q&A #8 UC Davis SSA: http://youtu.be/ZLXxbyg4Dpwbasicsofsikhi’s Video 111430671666 ZLXxbyg4Dpwbasicsofsikhi’s Video 111430671666 ZLXxbyg4Dpw
Lust is what is eating the world today and not enough is being said about it. First we need to control what we take in with our eyes .... tv, music and pictures. We may think that nothing is going into our minds but truly our subconscious is storing these images which can eat us up during the day.
kaam is a energy, we want to turn kaam to naam so we need to jap naam and read + understand gurbani which acts as a broom to sweep away the dust and dirt that is preventing us to go deep withing ourselves and find vaheguru.
Thirdly, sangat also has a big play in this. Personally I had many friends making inappropriate jokes which would make me go back to where I started with in regards to lust.
Fourthly when thoughts and urges come to you then, do exercise or take your mind away from this. We need to stay busy and try to always be in company rather than by yourself.
Finally ardas is the key. Ask guru Ji to hold your hand on this journey and stay strong

How can one do everything enough to still be accepted by god by even doing a little bit of paat and remembering guru everyday be enough

it's hukam to complete basic nitnem of 7 banis throughout the day and do simran of vaheguru (remembrance).
However sikhi isn't about ticking boxes its about changing the way you see the world and they way you are yourself. By asking what you have.... your not fully giving into the guru I.e. not willing to give your head.
We need to understand vaheguru is the giver of givers.....no one will give like they do to us; we just need to widen our eyes to how he helps us every moment of our lives.

Should sikhs only have sex to pro create and is contrception acceptable. If the answer to the first part is No, how would you know you are not over indulging even if you partner was youe spouse.

VJKK VJKF Ji. Just wanted to thank you Ji for coming to bow Gurdwara. You and the team are such an inspiration. Hope to see you soon. VJKK VJKF.

vaheguru. All gurus kirpa jj

hello i'm christian and I had a question during punjabi wedding why is it that the bride throws rice behind her when she is about to leave her parents house

thats a Punjabi thing.... nothing to do with sikhi.

About the previous question on parties. I haven't been blessed with Amrit yet Ji been blessed to be allowed to try and be a sikh I should of made this clear Ji. Would the answer still be the same. Also I've witness ardas being done at parties which is so wrong do I partake in ardas do I touch floor?

Vjkk vjkfateh,
its the same tbh because the sikh rehit maryada says a sikh shouldn't have alcohol etc so no point being in such environments to be honest with you Ji.
This is a tough one, personally I wouldn't partake in the Ardas and would leave if I was there but do it based off how your feel in that moment Ji. Also depends what the Ardas is for Ji.
