I think it's.. An option? If you feel that you've lived long enough and it's time to move on go for it. There's no point in living a meaningless existance just for the sake of living.

Depends on the person. In general Japanese women encourage femininity, being in good shape and try to look their best. While Swedes are pretty much the opposite.
