What's your pet peeve?
People who's entire personality/being revolves around their gender or sexual orientation.
I'd like to hope these people will grow out of it when they become older but I'm not sure. It's mostly teens. And since I don't really hangout where these people usually do, nor do I want to associate with them I haven't experienced the full grown cancer of it. I try to avoid it yet I get expoed to it.
It's most common among teenage girls (obviously they don't call themselves that since that's not special but that's what their passport says). I can name one "friend of friend" that I recall, she wrote everyday online, bragged and it was ALWAYS about how gay she was. Every update everyday. And then one day she was a he or them, something new anyway.
So naturally the "i'm the gayest" stopped. (Being gay is somewhat mainstream so I get it, gotta be special) and God have mercy upon your souls if you misgendered (that's the worst sin possible) even though her/them/xir hobby was to assign (wrong) gender identities to fictional characters. Strange isn't it?
Me pointing out that Dick Grayson wasn't some demisexual agender-fluid-whatever got her so pissed she blocked me on twitter! (I was simply stating that the character is a cis hetero male, aka the worst possible "combination"). What a mature way to handle "critique", right?
Not to mention how hypocritical of her/him/them to misgender on purpose when said person hates when said person gets misgendered. Hypocrisy is very common among these young special snoflakes (emphasis on special)
And there's this other kid, a girl who then became a boy and then genderfluid (mix of both genders I think?) and then agender (no gender? How does that work? You have to have one) because the person.. Felt like it? And then it was back to genderfluid the week after that. It gets very confusing of course, and you MUST use the correct pronouns or all hell breaks loose. So it's your job as an outsider to keep track of their changes, not knowing is not acceptable!
If you know me/people I know you can probably figure out whom I'm talking about. But my conclusion is that these kids are the "emo kids" of this time.
Hopefully they'll grow out of it.
