what qualities do you look for in a person?

the most important quality to me is treating strangers kindly, especially staff at businesses ^^
muhammad ali said it best: "I don’t trust anyone who's nice to me but rude to the waiter. because they would treat me the same way if I were in that position."
it's a //huge// red flag if someone is rude to people who are just trying to do their jobs, like waiters, cooks, cashiers, etc. I was raised to always be grateful for their service even if it isn't up to your standards. you never know how hard of a day they've had or what's going on in their life !! if someone gets your order wrong or you don't like the food, you just kinda suck it up and move on.
my dad's family is the reason why I feel this way. they're rude to waiters, complain about their food all the time, and cause scenes to try and get free stuff. it's embarrassing to go out to eat with them TTvTT they also happen to be terrible people in general,,,,,,which could just be a coincidence, but the way they treat strangers 100% reflects their racist, homophobic, awful personalities. I think there has to be some sort of link there.

What's the best costume you've ever worn? 🦸‍♀️🧛‍♀️🧝‍♀️🧟‍♀️ Doesn't matter if it was for Halloween or not 🎃 Pic maybe if you have one and are willing to share? 😄

a haunted lawn bag x"D I wish I had pictures, but I'll do my best to describe it.
on this particular halloween, my family was too busy to get a "proper" costume together. it was already beggar's night - the day of trick-or-treating - and my brother and I had to come up with an idea in a last minute rush.
we took some lowe's bags from our garage - the kind you'd put leaves, sticks, grass, etc in - and drew scary faces on them, with big, spikey teeth and angry eyes. we cut the faces out so when we put the bags upside down over our head, we could see through the holes.
after that, we grabbed some fake plants from inside our house as well as some sticks we found on the ground outside. we poked those through the bag and taped them on the inside to look like limbs, hair, etc.
we tried attaching our candy bags to the fake arms, but it was too much weight. I think we ended up holding them inside and telling people to "feed us" through the mouths LMAO
this ended up being the most fun I've ever had on halloween. it easily beat all of the costumes we'd paid for, and our neighbors absolutely //loved// them !! it was really fun to make something so simple and silly.

What do you do when your not feeling well?

I have a few things that I do (:
the most important one is drinking sports drinks. if you're having tummy troubles in particular, your body is flushing out important electrolytes and replenishing them can make you feel better! this is something recommended to me by doctors / other patients when I was very sick in high school and couldn't keep weight on. I still have a habit of drinking nothing but sports drinks, though,,,,,sajfhdsjfhdkjfhd whoops
if I can tolerate food, I try to eat something plain and easy to digest like steamed rice, saltine crackers, toast, bananas, applesauce, or soup. some of this is from the brat diet I tried back in high school, while some of it is from personal preferences! I find that salty foods help the most if I'm nauseous, and it's easy to keep crackers handy. rice is super easy on my stomach and easy to buy in microwavable cups if you don't have a rice cooker.
ice packs or those microwavable rice hot packs come in handy, too. and warm blankets or sweaters / pajama pants.
if I have a cold or sore throat, warm soups and hot cocoa are my best friends. I'm not a fan of lozenges (especially menthol ones - yuck!) so I pretty much just snuggle up and wait it out. if it isn't gone in a week, I go to the doctor for medications. I used to get strep over and over as a kid so I have a literal protocol for it LOL

Who had the biggest influence on you as a kid?

definitely my mom! I spent the most time with her since my dad had to work a lot. I've picked up a lot of things from her, like how she scrunches up her face when she squints, her political views, and even her word choice. for example,,,,,,everyone here says pop, but I say soda instead since that's what she calls it (:

Did you gain weight during the covid pandemic? If you sat on a ballon would it...?

I have ): I'm not sure how much I weigh now, though, since I'm too scared to see the number. I think this is the highest my weight has ever been, just judging from my appearance. probably 130 lbs or higher,,,,,,,,while my target weight for my height is around 100 - 110 oops

do you like raising cane's chicken?

cane's sauce is really good in my opinion !! and their texas toast, mmm. I'll eat their chicken whenever my parents get it, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
not that their chicken is bad, though - it's quite the opposite! I used to //love// cane's. my mom got it for me once or twice a week as a treat back when I was doing physical therapy many years ago.
I'm just leaning towards being a vegetarian or pescatarian now. I haven't quite figured out how cane's falls into that, since their food is, well, meat. rip. and eating meat freaks me out, even if I haven't fully stopped yet.

Would you rather be back in school or working your job?

mtaubs_fitness’s Profile PhotoMichael Taub
I'd rather be back in school! I've never had a job before - ideally, I'd finish my education before I start working. I feel very privileged that I even have that option since I know not everyone does. my goal for now is to return to classes as soon as possible!

Have you ever kept money in a piggy bank?

I used to when I was a kid! I had a plastic piggy bank that was red. I remember picking it out at the store - I adored that thing and was soooo proud of it LOL
unfortunately, I had to cut it to get everything back out again ): the bills I had folded to slip inside wouldn't fit back through the coin slot.
I still have it, but it's been empty ever since then and it's a bit misshapen now from opening it.

Did you register to vote to receive a mail-in ballot?

yep! I have my ballot and I'll be dropping it off today or tomorrow ^v^

Did anyone else get that "you are in a username poll group, answer his question now" push notification from ask.fm? What's that all about? Does anyone know what that means?

I didn't, but I don't have the app anymore since I had to delete it for storage space 0: good luck figuring it out !!

When eating cereal with milk, do you pour the cereal or milk first?

cereal first, then milk! I don't want to splash the milk by pouring in the cereal, and I'm not a fan of milk anyways so I try to add as little as possible after filling the bowl.

Taylor Swift or Selena Gomez?

selena gomez! I was a big fan when I was younger. I still listen to her music every now and then.

School in the uS is not flawed. In the middle east is flawed. They usually put you only to memorize But if you go to American uni in the middle east or travel to the us.They give you opportunities to grow. Induce you with critical thinking. Open discussion. And giving you the opportunity elevate iq

no school system is perfect - I think there are flaws in each country's way of teaching. there's //always// room for improvement.
as someone who went through the american school system from preschool to sophomore-ish college, I could definitely see big flaws, mostly within my local school district from state regulations. these flaws are commonplace among other states as well, not just within ohio,,,,,,but certainly some states are better than others as graduation requirements and budgets differ.
very rarely did my teaching involve critical thinking - it only did after I entered a special program designed for kids who tested higher than average. after I left that program, regular public schooling was just taking daily notes to memorize for tests with occasional projects or jeopardy games to make it seem more exciting (which it wasn't LOL). and we took the same placement test yearly, with the exact same questions every single time. memorize the answers once and you were pretty much set for that one.
I can't say much about higher levels of college since I haven't reached that point yet, but the lower ones are just a bunch of boring required classes before you can even get into interesting stuff for your major. it's mostly writing essays, giving back the information you were taught in your readings, just not word-for-word or you'll get in trouble for plagiarism. there's also some multiple choice quizzes with pure memorization. nothing too interesting or that makes you think.
I'm hopeful that it'll be better once I get higher up! but middle school, junior high, and high school were //definitely// just memorizing and regurgitating facts to meet state guidelines on what they thought you needed to know.

+1 answer in: “Edumacation isn't everything. edumacation usually means 'how long have u attended a place to give u intelligence?' but doesn't that mean almost anything can offer u intelligence?”

Would you rather know you had 3 months left to live or die instantly without warning?

I'd like to know in advance. I feel like I've missed out on a lot of things over the past few years, so being able to go out and live life before I pass away would be great!
