I abhor hospitals. Unsure the exact designation, but visited the ER numerous times in 2013. I think, like, 10x visits. Amazingly, I've never actually had to stay at the hospital for more than a few hours (once admitted).
Nothing grants an appreciation for life like waiting 16hrs at la county hospital only to be treated like a lying sack of shit and sent home without remorse.
Shoplift medical items every time I visit an er as a 'moral victory' and to alleviate the doomed feeling of being completely fucked by an uncaring, corporatized health 'care' system.
A lot of doctors/nurses can be real cunts but the scarce caring one is invaluable.
Remember a time at cedars sinai emergency room when I was shoved in an area with the 'unwanteds.' Sat there for 5+ hrs before a doctor even checked to see if I was alive, which was him asking 'why are you here?' Inside the room were several other people but most notably a gay guy who had killed or almost killed his lover. He kept pleading and apologizing to the cops and doctors, repeating 'i don't know; i'm scared.' Around hour 4.5, I had to shit and the bathroom was 5-6ft from him. Always have felt terrible that the dude's last minutes outside of a jail cell were spent handcuffed to a gurney listening to and smelling my asshole.
Hope whatever caused your hospital visit is cured or aggressive enough to kill you soon/quickly. And I say that from the heart.
