What's the best way to improve your ability to adapt when they'll only play you ft1, single elim?

Come up with a series of low-risk tests ("What do they do if I throw three fireballs in a row/knock down and throw three times/whatever") and pay attention to how they respond. Get in the habit of doing that, and then over time you may start to see common responses and predict personality type based on that.
Also, don't be afraid to go HAM if you suspect their game is pretty tight and you might get outplayed.

Pat why do you hate 3s and why do you have no taste?

I hate 3s because it took a wonderful, elegant system and shat on it. And I don't hate it THAT much. I just think that it sucks.
Re: No taste, that's not very nice of you. I'm sure I'm plenty flavorful.

i was worried for the future of my relationship because i don't know how to be genuinely tsundere but these sharks do brighten my mood, thank you pat

you're welcome~

Alright but if I get a slaw dog wouldn't that technically be putting mayo on it

is this a thing? never heard of this before. also, why y'all got a hot dog fixation lately? i'm more of a burger guy myself.

pat this is dire please help me my boyfriend really likes tsundere type anime girls but i am not tsundere at all what should i do? should i try to be more tsundere towards him? i don't want to be mean either though

Has he actually communicated that he wants this from you? I can think of a bunch of behaviors I find appealing but wouldn't actually want in my relationship.
If so, that sounds tricky -- it's hard to learn new ways of acting towards someone, especially if they're not genuine. Tsundere can be tricky to pull off. You know what's easier? SHARKS. Check this out for tsunderinspiration: http://www.reddit.com/r/TsundereSharks/

If you could take one figurine, toy, etc. that you own and blow it up to 1:1 scale--which would it be?

I think I have Galactus action figure around here somewhere...
Just kidding. It'd be my Altron Gundam model. Shit yeah.

Sakura/Hibiki/Nakoruru. What groove should I use?

Think A, N, or K. A-groove definitely gets you the most damage out of your meter.

Anak means child. DO NOT FAIL ME AGAIN DAMN IT

That's actually one of the ~15 words or so I know, so I was actually mildly disappointed that I missed it.

Why do you think K-Rock is bad. Fight me.

1. Because he just runs around throwing reppukens and kicking stuff like an asshole.
2. Okay!

You said A-Nak and you didn't make a tagalog joke. And you call yourself a flip. *scoffs*

I can't really speak tagalog, unfortunately! That would have been pretty great though.

How was Nakoruru in CvS2?

Fun as hell. Pick K-Nak, harass with crossups and walkup stand jab, JD and throw a lot, and then use the healing super a lot. Trolly as fuck.
Or if you want to win, just pick A-Nak. Whatever.

Out of all the fighting games that you've played, what is your favorite combo? This can be based on best showing of execution, nostalgia or satisfaction.

CvS2 Ryu - c.lk, c.lp, c.mk xx super fireball. Everything about it just feels masterful.

Thoughts on UNiB? Or is it another game with not enough hours in the day.

Seems neat. No idea how it shakes out competitively because I've barely touched it. My main worry is that it'll die when Xrd comes out, which makes it hard for me to want to sink too much time into it.

How long would you say to wait before asking an FGC woman out if she just got out of a relationship?

I've never dated anyone who played fighting games, but the concept of a different set of rules for women who do is kind of hilarious to me.
Also, is this a thing? I just kind of figured that people tend to signal when they're interested/ready to date, and if you're not picking up on those signals either a) back off or b) fuck it go in yolo (aka the "you got no game, but you do have a bunch of quarters" approach).

Do you try to justify liking stuff made from problematic people? And if you do how?

I usually do, and then I think about it for like five goddamn minutes and feel pretty shitty about it. I don't think there's really any clear-cut answer here other than "Don't support shitty people, even if they make cool things."

I'm about to get into a long distance relationship because I'm leaving the country. Do you have any tips on how to make long distance work?

Sure. I managed to keep a relationship alive and healthy for a year on opposite sides of the world, and then lose that same relationship 6 years later when we were just in different parts of California, so perhaps you should take my advice with a grain of salt.
-In my experience, keeping a long-distance relationship going isn't hard because you don't see each other. It's hard because whatever tensions or issues you have in your relationship are buffered by being with each other in person. You know how sometimes you can get in a fight and then without actually working anything out you both end up feeling better (and probably just leave the actual fight unresolved)? Can't really get away with that in a long-distance relationship. The Relationship Conversation is basically gonna be your main tool in this matchup, and you'll want to save most of your meter for Emergency Present Delivery and Surprise, I'm Coming To Visit Right Now.
-Keep looking for different ways to interact with each other. Write each other letters, or emails, or something for the other person to wake up to. Play video games. Watch movies with each other on Skype (like, just both get the same movie and press play at the same time and so on).
-Perhaps most importantly, prioritize these interactions even more highly than you would if you were in the same city. The hard part of doing long-distance is learning how to make time for a voice on a phone over people who are in your face wanting to go do Things and Stuff.
Hope that helps.
