How do u get a lazy horse more forward going?
you have to remember that on a lazy horse, less is definitely more otherwise you're just going to make it dead to the leg. ask once firmly and then a smack with a crop if it doesn't respond, praise the second it goes forward and sit nice and still once it's going. i would aim to just use a tiny bit of leg at each school marker as a reminder to keep going. don't chase and hassle the horse x

good exercises to get a horse to jump more 'upward'
gridwork will help a horse become more bouncy and sit on it's hocks more to get a more uphill jump and stop them from being long and flat. also jumping high cross poles from a trot can help a horse learn to lift through it's shoulders a lot more and bascule, v-poles can also help as well i think

little bonnie is my total world. she came into my life and challenged me from the word go - difficult to catch, difficult to ride... she was just very distant. she didn't want to know me, and at first i was just thrilled that i had a really capable pony that could do everything more than actually wanting to get to know her and love her. but then something happened, i dunno what it was but it changed and i realised that i had been blessed with such a beautiful little mare. and now when i count my blessings, i count her twice because i couldn't have been luckier to end up with her. brave, loving, beautiful, powerful, fast, intelligent. she had everything i could ever have wanted in a pony. i just hate the fact she almost came into my life too late. 3 years wasn't long enough. but better late than never. she's my pony of a life time and i will never ever love something else more than i love her.

roxy is the most beautiful, infuriating, difficult beast i have ever had the chance to ride. everything about her just makes her difficult, from her bitchy, extremely stubborn personality to the fact that physically she's a big mare and just tricky to hold together. but honestly, i can't ever give up on this horse because she's come on leaps and bounds already, and she's like a different horse on the ground; sweet and affectionate and loving. all it took was time, and a shit load of patience. and i'm ready and willing to put the work in the ridden side to make that better, because if she's like that on the ground then she sure as hell can be like that undersaddle. she's my gruffalo, and i love her to the ends of earth and no matter how much of a losing battle it is at the moment, i'll keep fighting it out until we get to where we want to be :)
