Its really hard to get my horse's head down on the flat he just charges around shall I change his bit for a stronger one? He is in an eggbutt snaffle
since you referred to it as 'get my horse's head down' i'm assuming you aren't asking for him to work correctly in the proper way, ie you're using more hand then leg when really it's about asking the horse to reach for the bit and to carry themselves lightly which means you need to use leg to push them forward and into their bit... if you don't do it properly and use your hands heavily, chances are the horse is charging around because it's trying to get away from your hands. dont change bit, school your horse properly and get some qualified help to improve :)
