Do you think fans who try to talk to their bias/idols are lame? What're your limits on fan interaction?
I definitely don't think they're lame. I personally love talking to fans, and others at AH feel the same. I think the limit is to remember that while you're a fan and we really appreciate you, we don't really know you. So fans who act like we're best friends and act like assholes because we do to each other is a bit weird and disrespectful.
So I really love achievement hunter, and its basically my dream job to work there, in really any means, whats the number one thing you would say I should do to work towards this goal?
Prove that you should work here. Make/edit content and post it on the site, and eventually AH will notice.
What do you do to improve your productivity during work? Do you believe that passion is more important than discipline in pulling through tasks?
Definitely. I had discipline at my last job, but hated it. Work got done, but it was slow. At AH I love every second of my job, so work gets done very quickly. Sometimes I watch other youtubes while stuff is exporting, conforming, or copying over to pass the time. But usually I just have a game ready to play in those situations
Just realized you lived a town over from me (woburn) when you lived in mass! Bummed I never got to meet you when you still were here
Spent a lot of time in Woburn and my sister still lives there. Nice town. PS. Ixtapa has great margaritas PPS. On the Border near the Target is one of my favorite restaurants. (Also worked there for two years)
What kind of boss is Geoff? Is he particularly demanding, or strict in any way?
He's very laid back. But because he's more of a friend than a boss, none of us would ever take advantage of that. I still show up to work around 9 and get work done ASAP, even though he wouldn't really care if I didn't. It's a respect thing.
When you asked Geoff for a job at rtx had you already talked about being brought on or were you and Matt just being smart asses?
I've posted the full story about this online, you can probably find it on the AH site or reddit. Essentially we were told to ask to get hired, and Geoff was going to berate us and yell at us (in a funny way) to deter other people from doing that. Or at least that's what we thought was happening.
Hi your my hero I want to be like you some day and today's my birthday! If it's not too much to ask can you say happy birthday to me? It would make my day
Not sure. Might have been after I broke my leg playing football. I was in a huge amount of pain for a week or so after I left the hospital, but I didn't tell anyone because I assumed it was just because of the injury. A physical therapist I had told me I should think about getting an ultrasound to look for blood clots, and against my will, I did. Turns out I had two. One had made its way up an artery in my thigh and another was in my calf. Got pumped full of bloodthinners and was under a lot of surveillance just in case it moved further up my bloodstream and into anything important like my lungs. If the physical therapist hadn't made that suggestion, I never would have went to the hospital.
How were you first contacted about being hired at AH?
Caleb messaged me asking if I could help edit videos for a week if RT flew me to Austin. At the end of the that week Geoff pulled me aside and asked how interested I would be in working full time maybe sometime in the next year. He hired me a few weeks later at RTX.
Okay, the TOP guitar cover is almost done. Also, your flow with the lyrics is ridiculously good. Looking forward to seeing you do more stuff after Game Fails! (Xray and Vav rap?)
The X-Ray and Vav rap battle exists and is totally done on my computer at work. I just don't know if I'll ever release it.
