What does 'set back' means in this sentence "Matt parked in front of a large two-story house set back from the street in a cul-de-sac"? Thank you!

In that sentence, "set back" means 'placed some distance from something else.' In other words, that large two-story house is far away from the street.

hey, i know this question is weird but this suddenly pops out in my head... why we never use v-ing form of 'need'?

You're right: we rarely use "needing." However, "be needing" is fairly common in conversational English. For example, "I won't be needing this." (You would say that as you return something or give something to someone.)

Hi, dude.. I wanna ask you Which one is true? May allah bless us or may allah blesses us? Thx before

With "may," use the base form of the verb. Therefore, "May Allah bless us" is right.

Hopefully,I can speak english very well, cz I really love and really want can chitchat in english. But sometimes, I just feeling so shy to talk in english, cz my grammar just too bad (like, now) Wdyt? and if u don't mind, u can correct what is wrong with mine now:)

Here you go: "Hopefully, I will learn to speak English very well, because I really love it and want to chitchat in English. But sometimes, I just feel so shy to talk in English, because my grammar is just too bad (like now)."
Don't worry about grammar in spoken English. When you SPEAK with people, grammar doesn't matter as much as it does in written English. And if you're talking with friends, peers, etc., it matters even less. For example, when I speak with my friends, we never use perfect grammar; we use a lot of slang and informal English. So don't worry too much. 👍🏻

what does this mean " mask work rights"?

It's a really technical legal term that is related to integrated circuit layout design protection: http://bit.ly/2p9fOT3 (Sorry for giving you a link to a Wikipedia page, but we are not legal experts. That term would be something that you would come across in law school or while studying copyright law.)

what the meaning of lit and slay?

In slang, "lit" means 'exciting' or 'awesome.' It can also mean 'really drunk' or 'high (on drugs).'
In slang, "slay" means 'to succeed in an amazing way' or 'to look really sexy.' If you're talking about a joke, it means that it was so funny that you almost died of laughter.
If you guys are ever curious about slang words, look them up on urbandictionary.com. (⚠️ Warning: the language and examples are often vulgar and offensive.)

According to you as a native english speaker, what the easiest language should we learn after we master in English?

Spanish is pretty easy to pick up. (And if you live in California, it's very useful.)

Japanese, nice. Good luck ^^ May I ask what's your favorite manga/anime?

So many to list, but right now, our favorites are "One Piece" (all-time favorite), "Kingdom," and "Tokyo Ghoul:re."

Spanish, wow. Tell us the basic how to speak Spanish?

Lo siento pero no puedo explicarlo ahorita. Necesito mucho más tiempo y ask.fm no es el mejor lugar para darte una lección de español. 😉

Spanich and Korean, two different languages. This is so perfect :) Are you intending to learn another one?

Since we love manga/anime, Japanese is high on the list.

This is correct?? "Development of diagnostic test on Heat and Temperature at High school"

For the title of a research project/paper, "Development of Diagnostic Test to Measure Heat and Temperatures at High Schools" would work.

Hi, I want to change my phone number next week, and before that I want to make an announcement to my friends. What should I say to my friends, "Next week, this phone number will change to . . ." or "Next week, this phone number will changing to . . ."? Thank you in advance :)

The first one: "Next week, this phone number will change to (x)." 👍🏻

Is it "not to" or "to not"? What's the difference?

They're both OK. You're asking about a topic called "split infinitives." Many grammar purists say that it's wrong to split an infinitive (to put a word between "to" and the verb). They would say that "not to" is the correct form, since "not" goes before "to" (and not between "to" and the verb). However, split infinitives are also accepted as correct. 👍🏻

Is it not to or to not Whats the difference

Can you tell me what is the difference between "anyway" and "anyways"? I'm confused, thanks in advance! :)

In casual spoken English, they're both OK. However, in standard written English, "anyways" is considered informal/nonstandard. 🙅🏻 Therefore, just to be safe, always use "anyway." That way, you won't accidentally use "anyways" in an essay or important professional email.

What is inverted subject verb? And when do we use it?

Here is a sentence with subject + verb order: Henry studied at the cafe.
Here is a sentence with inverted subject + verb (i.e., verb + subject) order: At the cafe studied Henry.
We use it for stylistic purposes. There is no "rule" that says you have to use subject-verb at certain times.
Here are two more examples:
- Henry said, "I'm tired."
- "I'm tired," said Henry. (subject-verb inverted)

What does this sentence mean? "She is not going to hold up on cross." Thanks! Btw I'm glad you're back!

We're glad to be back! 🙌🏻
Because your example sentence is something that we normally don't say, we googled it. The context is "The so-called eyewitness is a hundred years old. She is not going to hold up on cross" (from "The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer" by Michelle Hodkin). Those sentences are dealing with a court case/trial. 👩🏻⚖️
The speaker is worried that the witness, who is really old, is going to struggle during cross-examination: aggressive or detailed questioning of someone. In that sentence, "cross" is simply an abbreviation of "cross-examination."
We hope this clears things up. 👍🏻

what does this sentence mean? " Her looks have got no parallel"?

Aha! "Beauty and the Beast"! 👍🏻
It means that there is no one who is as pretty as she is. That's why in the song, the line says "It's no wonder that her name means 'beauty.' Her looks have got no parallel (i.e., no one is as pretty as she is)."
It's similar to "She has unparalleled beauty," which also means that her beauty has no match, no rival, no competition, etc.

What does outgoing mail means? Thanks!

It means mail (both letters and email) that you are sending to another person. 📬
The "opposite" would be "incoming mail" (letters and email that other people are sending you).
