yup i would if it's gonna be the best for us & if i'm trying to protect someone i genuinely care for. i'm stuck in the same situation as you haha but i guess it's the only thing i can do now to make the other person happier. even though it would hurt a lot since you're forcing yourself to pretend not to have feelings anymore & try to be as cold as possible, i guess things would be better for that someone in the long run.
