Any improv tips?

Keep it fresh! It's always good to have an outline of what you want your story to be about and then go on and be creative!

My school might do the play "Our Town" this year, and I'd like to have a good monologue ready. Any ideas? I'd like to go for the parts of either Julia or Emily. :)

I'm not really that familiar with that show but alice in wonderland is my go to for monologues

Why is it a better idea to audition with a song from a totally different musical? And would it be a good idea to audition with a song on the radio or something like that?

People usually choose a song from a different musical so that they're not type cast as just one character. You need to help the director see you in a variety of roles. And also, choosing a song from the radio is usually a bad idea because its usually best to sing a musical theatre song. You want to choose a song in a similar style to the musical you are auditioning for:)

Do you have any tips for miming?

I don't really know much about miming. All I can tell you is dont talk, stay in character and as my friend just told me, stay in the box, be the box! Best of luck!

I'm auditioning to play Maureen in Rent, any advice on how to prepare or warm up? And any advice on how to hide scars?

Learn as much as you can about the character. Find a good audition song. Make sure you are as prepared as can be. And for the scars (I wish you didn't have them) but makeup or hide them with clothing or jewelry.
