I am auditioning for an opera in like 2 weeks and I need a broadway song (not just 16 or 32 bars) to sing that would be age appropriate for a teenager. I am a soprano who is comfortable with both her higher and lower range. Any ideas?

Maybe something classic and slightly opera-y? I would suggest something from phantom of the opera (if you can handle Christine) or one of
Cosette's songs from les mis

I am going to an audition soon and I don't have any sheet music for any of the songs I have in mind to sing. Is this a problem? Can you recommend any sites for free sheet music?

It's hard to find free sheet music legally. I don't know of any legal sites:(

I bought the sheet music I need for an audition, but I'm afraid I bought the wrong one! When my choir teacher played it for me, it was a lot faster then I thought it would be. It's so much prettier slower. Is there any way I can slow down the song? Would I have to change the sheet music?

Ask your teacher what tempo the song is in and make sure she's playing it in the right tempo. Also make sure the song is from the right musical/artist and that it's not a reprise or anything. Break a leg!

What would be a good song to audition for Pippin? My voice teacher and I were thinking about God Help The Outcasts from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

I'd listen to your voice teacher, God Help the Outcasts is an amazing song! Break a leg!

Yeah, you can always try. But you shouldn't get your hopes up unless they want to not have a tap dancing reno which would be weird...

Yeah^^ but still, you never know what the directors vision for the project is

To the person wanting to be reno....you can't unless you're a strong tapper or your show isn't going to stay true to the normal standard of tap. Try for Hope or something if you aren't a strong dancer so you don't get your feelings hurt...

While this is good advice, still try for it! You never know what the director has planned for this show. Yes Reno is meant to be a strong tapper but still prepare yourself for any role you want!

I want Reno in Anything Goes, but I can't tap dance. Advice, please?

Be willing to learn. Take classes if you can. If you can't, look up tutorials online. Do everything you can to be prepared:)

Good one minute monologues for girls? I'm sixteen. Just within a believable range. I can play younger also.

I always like using monologues form alice in wonderland, but I think the 1st time I used one, I was 13-14 but I think they could still be believable for a 16 year old! I would still use one!

Have you heard of the off-broadway show *Fun Home? (I asked this before but I got the name of the musical wrong).

No, but I will look it up!

If you could only see three people for the rest of your life who would it be?

My family.
My parents and my brothers. One brother is 4 so he only counts as 1/2.
So that's 3 1/2 people:)

What do you think is the best way to increase self confidence when singing? I can easily sing alto around friends and other people, but I'm always afraid to get into the soprano register (except in choir), because I become nervous and won't hit the simplest notes. Any tips please?

I used to have the same problem! I used to tell my choir teacher that I was an alto because I was afraid to sing the high notes. Now I'm singing soprano 1! Really just work your voice. Do warm ups to increase your range so your voice is stronger in higher notes! And then just go for it! Try singing soprano and if you can't hit the high notes at first keep working at it. I'm sure a choir teacher or voice teacher would be happy to help you!
