Are you here to make new friends or to just spend your time??

For the last few years I’ve typically made friends by being in shows with them, so...

If you could go anywhere right now where would you go?

Dunno. Is there another Earthlike planet out there?

What kind of life do you want to have - luxurious or adventurous?

You can’t have both? Is the position of international bon vivant not available?

Love the podcast - more please! Maybe I missed this, but what does the title "Strutting and Fretting" mean?

Thanks! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the podcast and are looking forward to more. Lucky for you, there’s a bonus episode this month so be sure to spread the word and tell everyone you know to subscribe!
The podcast’s title is derived from Shakespeare’s “Life’s but a walking shadow” soliloquy in MACBETH (V:v). It’s always reminded me how theatre, like human life itself, is a work of temporal art. You have to enjoy things in the present and moment by moment, because soon it will be gone - never to be repeated.
Since it’s not a direct quote of the Scottish play, I feel okay uttering it a lot in front of actors at my hou— er, umm, I mean, Studio E42.

What is your favorite restaurant? Where is it located?

Ruby’s BBQ. It is located in Austin, Texas... of the past.

What's the craziest thing you've done?

Take personal questions from total strangers and anonymous friends and answer them.

What are you looking forward to about this year the most?

Opening A FEW GOOD MEN on June 8th! stageworkshouston.org

how often do you look back on your life?

I’ve learned there comes a point when you’ve got to quit doing that and focus on making life better in the present.

Do you trust yourself? What advice do you have for people who don't trust themselves?

Make good choices until you can trust yourself.

Do you believe in horoscope compatibility?

I’m sure it’s a fun hobby, but a terrible way to get relationship advice.

Where is the funniest place you have ever fallen asleep?

A screening of SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN. I hear some performances were funny but I wouldn’t know because I slept through it.

Would you like to stay young forever?

Depends. Do you mean the literal forever? An eternity where I watch all my friends grow old and die but I keep going? Or the figurative forever where I don’t look like I’m aging but live roughly the same amount of time I would have anyway?

How do you handle showing affection with someone who is not your significant other i.e. on stage? How do you react to them showing affection to others?

It’s part of the job and since my wife is also an actor we both understand that. We handle it the same way we would handle playing serial murderers. Actors identify actions, attitudes, motivations, and emotions that go into the “this is the character, not me” pile. Failure to do so can drive one crazy.

If your other half did something that upset you, and continued to do it even after you told her it upsets you, how would you feel?

Upset.

Which branch of the military do you most identify with, if any?

Right now? I mostly identify with Lt. J.G. Sam Weinberg of the U.S. Navy’s JAG Corps. You should come see him next month in A FEW GOOD MEN at Stageworks in Houston.
