Jack, River, and Picard beam down onto a planet. That is either the start of a bad joke or a good fan fiction radio play/short film. When you write this, may I please have a role? And I SO MUCH want to see Jack with Q. Make it so.

Hmm... not sure when I could fit it into my schedule, but I certainly do want to get back to writing after holidays. I haven’t been serious about it in years, and have a few old drafts to dust off. I’ve never really tried writing fan fiction, but a Jack, River, and Picard story would be a fun scenario for sure!

UNIT soldiers? Not Rory or Captain Jack? Where would they fit in the Trek universe?

I don’t think Jack or Rory can be STAR TREK redshirts without redefining redshirts. What makes one a redshirt is the high probability you’ll die a usually horrible, often preventable death. When redshirts die, they stay dead. Both Jack and Rory are too important (and too reanimated) in the DOCTOR WHO universe for redshirts to be their counterparts on STAR TREK (but UNIT soldiers aren’t).
Now that I think about it, I don’t know if I even see either Rory or Jack in Starfleet. I think we’d be more likely to stumble across Rory as a humble medic, working in a hospital on whatever far-flung colony Amy is actually running. Rory is probably the guy sending a distress call after a Klingon attack or some bizarre impending space disaster.
If Rory is a footnote, Jack deserves his own mini-series (of novels probably). He might’ve been in Starfleet at one time, but out of it when his real story begins. Likely Jack was discharged because he disobeyed orders and rescued his away team, putting the whole ship in danger. Everyone is alright at the end, but Jack is drummed out of service by an embarrassed, unworthy captain.
With Jack’s intelligence, longevity, fun-loving nonjudgmental curiosity, and need to fight on the side of chaotic good, he could pretty much do anything he wanted to after that. It opens up all sorts of cool story possibilities. Like if he stays in Starfleet at all, he’s probably recruited by Section 31 immediately. Or maybe he joins the Maquis, or becomes a gun for hire during the Dominion War.
Or if we want to just have fun: I could totally see Jack as an archaeologist alongside River Song (with Picard joining them on a dig while on leave), or maybe some kind of traveling rogue merchant (but way way cooler than Cyrano Jones).
The only thing for certain about Jack is if he’s in the TREK universe, he’s almost certainly dating Q.

Why spring turns to summer and then autumn?

Seasons change on Earth because it revolves around the sun on a tilted axis relative to its elliptical orbit.

What is your favorite ice cream?

My favorite as a kid and usual go-to still is cookies ‘n cream. I usually enjoy ice cream with chocolate and or crunchy bits in it.
That said, Blue Bell had this amazing Italian Creme Cake flavor I wish they would bring back.

Second: don’t count an introvert out, either. We may hate small talk and take time to process feelings and situations, but typically we make some meaningful long lasting friendships and deeper conversations if/when we let you in.

Neato, relevant, and entertaining. Been called worse. What fun are questions, however, without discussion and comment?

Not much. And I’ve been called way worse too.

Star Trek or Doctor Who: pick only one.

That’s a horrifying prospect, but if I have to choose one, it’s DOCTOR WHO every time.
As much as I enjoy TREK in all its flavors (including DISCOVERY!), DOCTOR WHO is about one very intelligent person alongside (usually) ordinary open minded people making a difference for the better in the universe.
As much as I love the optimism for humanity that TREK presents, I don’t necessarily want to be part of what is technically the military to experience it.

not getting irritated by exclamations: "Every time I look, you always are in the web"?

If I had a web presence, it would more likely annoy someone else than irritate me.

So: you have just been asked by the BBC to be the fourteenth Doctor. What is your outfit and who/what is your companion?

Mercifully, in a real life situation, it wouldn’t really be up to me so much as the producer and costume designer. I know frock coats have been done to death on DOCTOR WHO, but I’d still want one. Consider the photo the first draft of what I’d try for.
As for companions, I would want to delve into Earth’s past instead of the present. At the risk of being “too Leela,” a female gypsy assassin would be cool, especially if paired with a knight who’d been left for dead on the battlefield. Visiting an older Romana and Susan would also be fun!

What is your favorite recipe? ??

12 oz Goslings Ginger Beer
4 oz Tito’s Handmade Vodka
squeeze of lime

Role you most want to play but have not (yet)?

I’ve always wanted to play the “odd man out” character on a STAR TREK series yet to be created. This is the alien bridge officer that throws up a mirror to humanity. (Think Spock, Data, Odo, Tuvok, T’Pol, and now Saru.)
(Of course, I would love the challenge of playing the Doctor for the Beeb, too. LOL)

Do you think your nationality influences the way you are?

No. I have a love of both absurd and dry humor, the BBC, and Earl Grey, but my nationality/genetics/heritage or whatever is not the least bit British. I have adopted elements of this culture that make me happy.
