Like... in my phone...? 288. But I could probably delete a lot of them and never notice.
Did you have any experiments with appearance? Would you like to change anything?
Sometimes I think about dyeing my hair blue, but it would severely limit my onstage casting opportunities.
Do you like to play chess? How can I learn it?
I like playing, but I think much more emotionally than logically so I rarely win. (At least that’s my excuse.) If you learn the way I did, you have a smarter friend somewhere who is willing to teach you. It doesn’t take long; you can probably understand how the pieces move in 20 minutes.
Would you like to learn to play guitar? 🎸 Or do you already know how to play it?
If I could quit my day job, I would absolutely learn to play.
On a scale from 1 to 10 how weird are you?
I really wouldn’t know how to answer that. Growing up, I was teased a lot for liking “weird” things that are now pretty popular.
How far would you relocate for your "dream" job?
Of course my wife would need to agree, but if the casting director for DOCTOR WHO or the current STAR TREK called, I or we would at least temporarily relocate to Cardiff or Vancouver. (That’s not likely though, and mercifully I can do a lot of acting right where I live already.)
What's your lucky number?
74,384,338
You can get one more life. In what century would you choose to live?
Whichever one has FTL travel and solved the problem of time dilation.
What kind of extreme sport are you interested in?
What do you need to invest in?
Rearranging some things in my life to audition for paid acting gigs.
How does your nutrition differ from other people's?
I don’t know. People so rarely have a label listing their Nutritional Facts.
Would you wear clothes with prints of dogs? 🐶
I haven’t yet. Maybe if they were astrodogs...?
have u ever been heart broken?
Of course.
When did you get your first phone? What was it like?
My first phone was (I think a Christmas gift) from my parents circa 1990. Garfield’s eyes opened when the receiver was picked up, and whenever the phone rang if I remember correctly.
Do you know how to skate? ⛸ where in your city can I skate?
I broke my leg ice skating when very young and I’ve never really regained any real desire to go back on the ice. I have a pair of quad roller skates and I’m not bad on those, but any shoe with a blade on it is not for me.
Do you have any allergies? For what?
I’m allergic to some specific types of mold and pollen. Ironically, also “Timothy” grass and other grasses. I have problems with oranges and grapefruit. Lemons also bother me a little, but I seem to be totally okay with limes. I think it has something to do with varying concentrations of citric acid. I used to have issues with corn syrup but adapted to tolerate it as it was in EVERYTHING when I grew up. My peanut allergy must have also been pretty mild as it hasn’t bothered me for decades. I guess now you know how to kill me. Proceed wisely.
Do you play a musical instrument?
I can play an E chord on a guitar, but otherwise, no sadly not.
The sax has its uses, but now that it’s no longer the 1980s, hands down the guitar is cooler.
What words or sentences would you teach your parrot?
Antidisestablishmentarianism
Would shark cage diving interest you?
I barely know you.
What is the actor version of a musician seeing a wrong depiction of a rhythm or musical symbol?
Hmm. That’s not an easy analogy for me. Seems to me, that musical notation is precise in a way that a script is not. Looking at sheet music, one knows exactly what sound should be made, by what instrument, for how long, at what volume and speed, what comes next, and when to be silent. I’m not saying there’s no creativity in performing written music, of course there is, there’s just more of a detailed roadmap possibly making it easier to spot a misprint whenever something’s wrong. I often think music is where mathematics goes on holiday because math is quite precise. By contrast, a playwright or screenwriter can put underlines, bolded text, italics, and blocking in their script all they want and even if the director honors all that (rare) and the actor fulfills it, it’s still subject to a wide interpretation on whether the “right note” was hit. An actor’s non-musical performance just can’t be “measured” quite like music can. Still... if the relationship of the analogy you’re looking for is “frustration,” to the actor I would suggest that the overuse of “wrylies” (a written directive in a script for a character to say something a certain way) might be a source of irritation (and may even indicate an amateur writer). I find people who shoot film but don’t bother to learn screenplay format equally annoying, especially now that there’s so much software out there to make it easy.
