What's your quarantine routine?

ManasviKoshiy’s Profile PhotoManasvi koshiy
I have not made any schedule yet.
Reason, I know this Pandemic will end soon so if I changed my routine based upon temporary situation, it would be a waste.
So my current focus is to do things calmly. Possibly one important task to be done in a day. Then moving to the next task.
However, yes I agree I am not having a good schedule now.
I wake up around 6-7 am then have my green tea & breakfast by 9-10. Then I would sit on my table which has my laptop, chargers, markers, pens, 2 diaries, 1 journal, 1 magazine, 1 rough notebook, a copy of Norwegian Woods (Novel by Haruki Murakami), 1 is my course book, a notebook and obviously my phone. And I will sit in the same place for about 7-9 hours or even more. And I keep juggling between these things the entire day!
I only leave the place for having lunch/ dinner and for helping mother for sometime and for evening walks and that's it.
My quarantine routine is mundane.
However, I am thinking of devising new ways to make my day more interesting.
Wishing everyone luck!

Whats your quarantine routine

Do you believe in miracles? Have some ever happened in your life?

I believe because I have seen one. My junior brother woke up one morning with a terrible headache which deteriorated as time went by during the day. By afternoon that day, he couldn't walk, talk or see. He could only groan with pains. That was how our journey to different hospitals started. Of course he was treated for malaria, infection and all kinds of ailment until we went for all types and kinds of Scan. We did MRI and the neurologist told us it was brain tumor and referred us to a neurosurgeon who directed us to take him for MRA. He said it is pituitary Adenoma and we have to operate. Though I am not a medical person but seeing the MRA it was there and even spilling over. His condition worsens as days passed. We were told that there is no space at the general hospital because they have more urgent surgeries they haven't gotten space for yet
So we resolved to go to private hospital or fly him abroad for surgery. His report was sent to US, they confirmed it as said.
But all thorough we were praying, grout prayer, chain prayer and others were also praying with us. We decided that he should stay apart in prayer and get him ready spiritually and emotionally for the surgery.
But as he stayed apart praying, all of us praying too, his eyes started opening he started seeing little by little, and by the 9th days his eyes opened so wide but his pupil wasn't dilating.
To cut the story short we went back for all the test and none of them shows any sign of tumor. It has completely disappeared. The doctors couldn't believe it and they did more and more tests anyway his before and after MRA and MRI and all the rest is still with them for analysis. It's been 2years after. He's doing great.
Isn't that a miracle!?

Do you believe in destiny? What's yours?

khilji143’s Profile PhotoAlauddin Khilji
I believe everybody's born with strengths & weaknesses & if they're honed in the way they ought to be, they'll accomplish great things. Everybody's destined for great things. In a sense, it's predetermined, but you have to work hard to fulfill your destiny.
Before I tell you my destiny, or what I feel is my destiny, I'd like to point out that a person's talents & abilities are no measure of their self worth & any comments on my own are in no way intended to make myself sound superior to any of my fellow human beings.
I'm destined to help people. I think I was born to put smiles on people's faces & wipe their tears away & to help them on their journeys. I love helping people out, sometimes even when they definitely do not deserve it. I'll go out of my way for anybody. It's not a selfless destiny, this is how I get my kicks!
I'm destined to teach. I've an uncanny ability to be able to relate to an incredibly wide variety of people & my presence demands a certain respect. When I was younger & studied in school, one of my teachers told me I'd be the best teacher in life because I used get as tough as a teacher when asked to take care of the class being a class Captain/Monitor.
I'm destined to learn. I'm blessed with a thirst for knowledge & am ridiculously curious about everything. I research things for fun a lot, & love new experiences. I'm also incredible at picking things up, or figuring things out without needing any help. I just want to know everything there's to know, but with as little help as possible.
I'm destined to create. I've an innovative mind & a very diy attitude. I don't want to retire until I've fully designed a completely self sustaining house, with vegetable gardens.
I believe I'm destined for many things but most are covered by these categories. My ultimate career goal is far too long to put here. Let's just say, I certainly haven't limited myself.

What would you do with your 15 minutes of fame?

That's quite interesting but only for the time being.
I would like to spread a message to all those desperate souls, that stop making efforts to be famous. Yes that's the message.
Weren’t expecting this? Let me tell you this by a little elaboration!
For a moment, lets suppose you are famous. Now What?
With Fame comes ordeals. For a moment you will feel like the world exists for you. But, after some time it will pinch you like a needle. You will get all the unwanted attention. You wont like it. Later on if somehow, you lose your fame, you will get into series of depressing phases. And that's when things go wrong.
So, shouldn’t you try to be famous?
Well! yes, you should definitely try but, not for fame but for success.

In the end...?

If I say that I don’t love you, will it make you stay for another day?
And if I pretend that I really don’t care,
would you want me more in the end?
But the truth be told, I cannot tell a lie; all of you just drives me crazy!
And for your love, I would surely die; Will you meet me there in the end?

What makes you happy?

Post something about feminism.

ManasviKoshiy’s Profile PhotoManasvi koshiy
Feminism, a word that is empowering for some and hated by many. Feminism literally means the advocacy of equal rights and opportunities of all genders. The feminist movements refers to a series of political campaigns for reforms on issues such as reproductive rights, domestic violence, maternity leave, equal pay, women’s suffrage, sexual harassment, etc
But lately the word and the movement has been misunderstood by both men and women. Feminism is now associated as “anti-men” or a “man-hating” movement by many. People think of feminists as angry women, asking women to not wear hijabs and covered clothes and criticising housewives for their choice.
Although all feminism does is preaches equality but several men and women don’t want to claim themselves as “feminists”. Statements like “I believe in equality, but I am not a feminist” or “I am a humanist, not a feminist” are often said by folks. But why are people not comfortable calling themselves feminists? Well, it’s not their fault completely. Pseudo feminism and feminazis are definitely noticeable in today’s world. Feminism isn’t about superiority or inferiority of any gender. It isnot to degrade men.I have often heard that if feminism is all about equality “can I slap back a woman if she slaps me?” Violence against you must not be tolerated and no one has the right to hit anyone, irrespective of genders but why is one entire movement brought down to whether you can hit the other gender or not, why is the whole concept of feminism viewed with certain wrong instances in mind?
Radical feminists want to eliminate gender roles for both men and women and they do fight for men too. Gender equality is their issue also. It is unfortunate to see people mocking feminism. But the fact that there are individuals who misinterpret the concept of feminism and use it against men doesn’t really change what it actually is.

Life is too short to __________ ?

Life is too short to tolerate intolerance (or spend time with intolerant people).
There are many places to visit, tastes to savor, ideas to explore, people to meet, books to read, songs to listen and adventures to embark upon.
Keep your mind open to everything that is new and unexplored. No book/idea/philosophy/artwork is too sacred to reject (or too sacrilegious to accept).
Be tolerant and explore everything that comes your way with open heart. It might be the last chance to go down the road you always yearned to tread.

How long does it take to really 'know' someone?

khilji143’s Profile PhotoAlauddin Khilji
There is no pre-set time limit. A person learns new things everyday about himself. I do somethings that even surprises me and tells me that I don't even know myself, then how can i understand another person.
You can prepare a list of things that you need to know about a person and you figure out that person on that merit but it is not necessary that you have covered all the things, you have just covered the things that matters to you the most. Later in life, you might change and the set of things that matter to you might change with you and you'll start looking at that person differently who has himself changed. So basically, you can never fully understand a person forever. You'll have to update your knowledge with every passing day and thus the answer to this question is forever.

Daily Reminder?

It is not a daily reminder it is living the impermanence of life now. Life is. All you are is this sensation and being of life right now, there can be no holding to the past when concious moment by moment of life as this. Living here with no sense of a me as a story in time is ever newness, it is eternal, living as the eternal is a state of holding to nothing because there is no one perceived to be holding.
You as a separate self dies to thisness. So life is lifeing now, the reminder of our mortality is This.

Most upsetting thing is?

Gender equality is a hot topic in today’s world.
Yes, we need both boys and girls to get the same opportunities and be treated the same way. We absolutely don’t want any stereotyping and we don’t want anybody to tell anyone what they should choose to do with their life based on their gender. Yes, there is gender bias in this world and yes, there is still a lot of female infanticide, a lot of dowry harassment and a lot of unequal opportunities. Walk into a super market like Walmart may be, in the US, check out the different texts printed on the t-shirts of boys and girls. From a tiny age onwards you can see the conditioning starting. While most of girls tees are only pink and read ‘I am a cutie’, ‘Born to be cute’ etc., most of boys tees say ‘Little surfer’, ‘I love to hike’ etc.
And yes, around the world a lot of activists and feminists are trying their best to bridge such gaps.
And now, coming to my personal experiences. As far as I remember, my parents treated me and my brother the same. We live a simple life, we never had to make any clothing choices based on colors (like girls wear pink but boys don’t etc). We were given equal education and provided equal support. And I have been fortunate.
I now ask this question - Is gender bias an issue that applies only to females? And if people really want to show off their moral high standards, why do they wish to not want a boy? (as if you could really wish). It upsets me every time I think about gender biasness.
I would urge to people, keep your desires to yourself and stop showing your jealous and irrational emotions on other people. When we say ‘men should stop abusing women’, it also means that the day when we give equal love and preference to our boy child and girl child and raise them up with equal morals, we raise men that are loved, and will in turn give back love. Amen! Rant over.

What do you think about getting revenge?

An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind - a line from the movie Gandhi (1982).
Revenge is not a natural trait in human beings but resulting from culture and society. Human beings hurt others due to lack of complete knowledge as a result of false beliefs. Other human beings taking revenge for those ignorant deeds is also an act of ignorance. In reality, the intrinsic nature of human beings is being kind, happy, just, and want to love and be loved. If human beings could live by these innate traits, there will be no wrong deeds, no one will get hurt and there won’t be any question of revenge to deal with. For that to happen, all human beings need to be made aware of the complete existential knowledge.
There are countless examples in history where human beings have displayed examples of immense kindness and unconditional love, that too during the times of great distress and suffering at the hands of other human beings. Instead of revenge, instead of an eye for an eye attitude, these human beings set examples through their beautiful acts and thoughts, that it will go on to inspire the future generations till the humanity exists on this earth.
