Cockroach Theory
A beautiful speech by Sundar Pichai - an IIT-MIT Alumnus and Global Head Google Chrome:
The cockroach theory for self development
At a restaurant, a cockroach suddenly flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With a panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group also got panicky. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach away but, it landed on another lady in the group. Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama. The waiter rushed forward to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out of the restaurant. Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior? If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed? He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos.
It is not the cockroach, but the inability of those people to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach, that disturbed the ladies. I realized that, it is not the shouting of my father or my boss or my wife that disturbs me, but it's my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me. It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me. More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that creates chaos in my life.

If you got a free cheque for $5,000 right this second, how would you use it?

Dilkash20’s Profile PhotoAdv. Dilkash Rana
“IF YOU WANT THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE, YOU HAVE TO EARN THEM FOR YOURSELF”.
Frankly telling, I would rather struggle to get everything I have than to let someone give it to me. I would straightaway deposit the cheque into either STATE/ COUNTRY FUND or would give it to some NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, or an ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY, or maybe to the WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION. (I'll tell you the reason at last)
I've always thought about doing something for the SOCIETY/ WORLD before dying. Even that, I have registered my BODY PARTS up for DONATION after my death because things that I can not take along with me after my death can be useful to anyone in need.
After my death, I'LL NOT LEAVE A SINGLE PENNY for my future generations, instead would DONATE EVERYTHING.
Reason — “I NEVER WANT THEM TO HAVE ANYTHING THAT WASN'T MINE”.
And once when you are done with your life, it's time to return what you've got from your life. It's time to surrender the things that you can't take along with you.
Remember — Your one decision can make a lot of difference!

Want to make more friends? Try this: Tell us what you like and find people with the same interests. Try this:

If you could read the thoughts of others to know who your friends or enemies are , will you keep your friends close or will you keep your enemies closer

I go by this famous quote by a famous Indian poet of the 14th century,Kabirdaswhich I think is best suits my personality.
"निंदक नियरेे राखिए, आँगन कुटी छवाई।
बिन साबुन पाणी बिना, निरमल करे सुभाइ।"
("nindak near rakhiye, aangan kuti chavai.
Bin sabun pani bina, nirmal karr subhai")
Which roughly translates into:-
You should always keep the person, who always criticizes you, near you.
Since his/ her job is to criticize you, they will point out every minute flaws inside you.
This way, you can improve yourself and you become more clean and pure, than you would with soap and water.

Everything changes when you begin to love yourself. You no longer send out energy of desperation or need to be filled from the outside. You become a powerful source within yourself that attracts better. The more you love who you are, the less you seek validation and approval.

Drop a truth.

You lose love. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone. And then, without you even realizing it, these pieces come back. New love enters. Better friends come along. And a stronger, wiser you is staring back in the mirror. No matter how bad it gets, better days are always waiting, hoping you’ll make it there to accept the smiles and joy that they’re offering.

Is it easier to forgive or forget?

MianFursan’s Profile PhotoFursan
It is Not easy to Forgive or to Forget.
But when you forgive someone, you allow yourself to be the bigger person,
to accept that we are not in control of the wrong doing that happens to us,
That we are strong enough to help Ourselves when other people leave,
That we will be there for others, always.
When you forget, you also forget the value that person added to your life and what you learned from them.
We may eventually forgive that person but never let yourself forget the pain, the hurt, the suffering they put you through,
And if they really matter, they will stick around when you treat them like they treated you.
That's why there's a popular saying... “FORGIVE BUT DON'T FORGET”.

What word is a lot of fun to say?🙄😂

muhammadabuzar1’s Profile Photo• Muhammad Abuzar •
I am a Bengali!
People say that “BENGALI'S EAT WATER”.
Although we say it like, “JOL KHAABO” and it sounds funny.
But that does not mean that “WE EAT WATER”
We do not have a word like “PEEBO” or any other word in our DICTIONARY to express action verbs like DRINKING and EATING differently, and that's the basic reason why we say “KHAABO” for both EATING and DRINKING!
We all DRINK WATER, Don't we?

Perks of following you?

If you follow me:
1. My feed is full of mature answers to questions. I avoid answering accusatory/ arguing/ irrelevant/ offensive/ promotional questions. Instead I'll send question back to you if I had to give an answer to your question with reference.
2. Sometimes or everytime, you'll find my answers to be longer than required. This will either make you read through my answers and finally you'll either end up stalking my profile, spamming me with likes or coins according to your preference or you'll just ignore my answers because they are too long.
3. I always stick to honest views. I have certain views, and whether they attain popularity here or not, I express them. You can be sure that when you read something from I share, you are reading something I genuinely believe in. You might not like it, but you know there is no hidden agenda behind my take.
4. At times I would send you questions, but my questions might not be worth answering because I no good at asking questions, but I really love answering your questions. So mind me the next time I send you any questions.
5. Once you've followed me, you'd start admiring my write-ups, would send me some positive questions later. I might answer them or maybe not. But, I'll try my best to answer your questions if they match my preferences.
5. Despite getting too much of attention, love, respect, positive vibes from everyone. You'll get to read or probably will be receiving hate or negative questions/ shoutouts anonymously/ through some fake accounts about me because I have some overly impressed fans out here, who keep promoting my profile like this.
6. At times, you'd get annoyed at me and would end up judging me for all the hates about me and finally you'd unfollow me thinking me to be a two faced girl which I am actually not. And I can't actually explain things out to you because at times I myself start judging myself for all the hates about me.
This is what you'll get if ever you follow me!

What is the best way to deal with stress?

MianFursan’s Profile PhotoFursan
The first step in dealing with the amount ofstressyou have is accepting what it is. You've to understand & accept these changes. There is stress associated with the massive amount of upheaval many of us are facing. You need to identify this stress, define it, & realize that it’s not associated with something you did wrong. If you focus too much on the stress itself & let it overwhelm you, you're only releasing more of the stress hormone, which is going to make it feel a lot worse.
Start assigning a name to your stress, understand that it is from situations in your life that couldn’t be avoided, then look to other ways of reducing it. This can help a lot with your mindset & how you react to stressful situations.
Both your mind & body go through the wringer when you've stress, so you need to focus on calming both your mind & body. Sometimes, this means just taking a minute to practice deep breathing, while in other cases, you have a little more time to focus on meditating or practicing mindfulness. You need these extra moments throughout the day that'll help you deal with stressful situations as they arise. Doing this can prevent it from getting worse & leading to complete overwhelm.
Dealing with your stress & overwhelm always depends on your physical health. Not just because stress can affect you physically & actually make you ill, but because when you eat right & exercise, it has a long list of benefits for you.
If you want a healthy mind, you need to start with a healthy body. This means eating a healthy,well-balanced dietwith lots of fruits, veggies, lean protein, & whole grains. Get regular exercise & don’t forget to drink your water each day. You can even spend some time meditating or practicingyogato help relax as well.
These small changes will make a big difference in your physical health, which will, in turn, help your mental health as well. It'll make it easier to deal with the changes we already have faced & any new changes to come.

what makes you happy

HaSanTaRiq311’s Profile PhotoHassan Tariq
I, personally, find myself in complete bliss when ideas come quickly to my mind. The ideas which are rife with profound conclusiveness and sublime exactness. When you go back to philosophy, it tells you that what you are getting as an outcome is, basically, an upshot of all those eclectic things which you have been exposed to over the period of time. So, a cynical brain will suggest you that if you are not getting anything pristine, then, why fritter your time in these things. But, then you tend to recall history and it suggests that a very few people, actually, could articulate the various aspects & universality of human nature/thought process at one place. Believe me; it is a sheer delight to be engulfed by ideas/thoughts. What you leave behind for others—whether it's ideas-written or spoken or any form of institution/organization which support life & its root cause that is evolution—is the means of happiness for society as a whole. And, these are the things which give me the impetus to go ahead and get the things done.

What’s worse than a heartbreak?

1. Realising that there was a time when your parents lifed you up for the last time.
2. Regret about the lost time that you wasted.
3. Realizing that you need to break up but still being in a toxic relationship because you love them too much.
4. Thinking about being productive all the day but you end up doing nothing.
5. Realising that there are people who don't have a roof over their head, who don't have their parents with them, who lost the person they loved the most.
6. Realising people die from hunger.
7. Realising that people with no means achieved their goals with hardwork but you cannot despite being all the means you need.
8. Realising that teenagers commit suicide just because they couldn't score the expected marks in thier exams.
9. Realising that girls get molested by their relatives. (Sometimes their own Father, brother).
10. Realising that innocent people and families die in terrorist attacks.
11. Realising that there are senior citizens who are thrown away to die by their own childern.
12. Realising that you will always regret that “one thing” that you wish you had done.
13. Realising that people commit suicide just because they were bullied either in real life or the virtual one.
This is just some of them, there are always people in the world who are in need of help. There are always people who are suffering. People who are just not having the best day.
I see so many people here on @ask.fm or “internet” if you may, spreading so much negativity. If you can't spread positivitydon't spread negativity. You have the power to either make someone's day or ruin it.
Why can't we work towards spreading positivity? Want to make someone happy? Smile. Give them a compliment. Appreciate their work. Tell your closed one's that you love them.

What do you think people think of you?

fragranceofsoul’s Profile PhotoNuha Sarwar
Does it matter? What matters to me is what I think about myself. Thinking about what others think of you is an unnecessary task and out of your control. But, on the other hand, you can control what you think about yourself.
If there are some things you would like to change, you can change them. If you make mistakes by doing so, you will have no one to blame but yourself. Placing so much importance on some one else’s opinion of you is unfair to you and them.
If ever we go by what people think about us, then we will be burdened by their perceptions rather than being who we truly are.
Earlier, I used to worry about what people thought about me and that made me miserable because I was trying to live up to their expectations. Yes, I was universally liked but was miserable from inside.
Once I stopped caring about what people thought about me, my reputation as a nice girl took a beating, but at the end of the day I'm a happy person.

What career advice would you give to your younger self?

1. Remember that, it's completely fine to FAIL. There are days when I handled Failures with a BIG SMILE, but my SUCCESS made me STRESSED everytime..
2. TIME MANAGEMENT matters most.
3. To an extentthat ONE EXAM question paper is going to decide your FUTURE, don't run everytime over those QUOTES.
4. PARENTS might SCOLD, even SLAP, it's just because of LOVE and AFFECTION they hold over you, never make your parents FEEL BAD.
5. The PEOPLE I LOVE and FEEL CLOSE are very FEW. I never RUSHED for MAKING FRIENDS. But I WAITED and THOUGHT a lot to make over a FAMILY with them.
6. Be it a GIRL or a BOY. Maintain same ATTITUDE with EVERYONE, because we can't act for every now and then.
7. TRAVEL to a PLACE about which you have NO IDEA. OBSERVE hills, streams, moving trees, etc they TAUGHT me lot more than NCERT books did.
8. Just SIT CALM for FEW MINUTES. Don't let any IDEAS, FEARS, NOISES, nothing RUN over the BRAIN, just LISTEN to the BEAUTIFUL SILENCE.
9. Neither I EXPERIENCED a Complete HEART BREAK nor BROKE OUT. So, it might be fine if you SKIP OVER it.
10. Try to UNDERSTAND this.

HOW TO STAY CONSISTENT IN LIFE

To be consistent in everyday life needs self discipline. If you aren't disciplined, you can't be consistent either. To lead a disciplined life, you need to enrich focus on some common characteristics.
Think positive: It's not easy. You'll not always win and you've to admit this fact sportingly. That's the positivity of mind.
Face the reality: Don't rely on beliefs. Beliefs are based on illusions which never exist.
Make decisions as you encounter life: Do not copy other's experiences.
Be brave to stand alone if you want to be extraordinary: Stop expecting from others to make things done for you.
Problems are integral part of life: Concentrate on finding solutions inspite of counting problems.
Don't hesitate to ask help from persons of concerned field: Nobody knows everything. So as you. You can enrich your knowledge as you unfold different mysteries of life.
Do not over think: It has no positive output except increasing anxiety and other ailments.
Do not use abusive languages when you're angry: Anger will get withdrawn by time, not by throwing words.
If you start a thing, just finish it.
Be knowledgeable: You can't opt shortcuts due to lack of proper knowledge. It leads nowhere.
