Are you going to be part of Red Velvet's fandom?

my fandom is shinee world. but i am a fan of everything sm, and i have been for many years. just because i enjoy other things doesn't mean i'll forget about shinee. i'm not leaving shinee world. you can't get rid of me that easily!!! XD

Did you change fandom? :( all i hear RV, RV, RV . . .

no...of course not. but are there any shinee updates to talk about?? no, not really. i wish there were more but shinee's on break...and i just bought a lucky box and updated about all the merch. anyway i like rv and i like other groups too. sorry if you don't like me tweeting about it but this is actually my personal twitter so i'm not going to apologize for what i tweet...i'm just a fan! not a fanbase or anything...and i will never stop supporting shinee as my #1. but i do have other interests!!

why do we care about celebrities?

it's just human nature. gossip and fawning over popular (aka successful aka attractive aka talented) people is just another way humans socialize. even children do this. before they really care about celebrities, they care about the popular people in school. maybe it's admiration, maybe it's jealousy, maybe it's both. also, common interests help us form bonds and friendships with others, or warn us who we should stay away from. that's why fandoms (of anything, not just celebrities) are so large and so strong.

Hi heidi.. i can read hangeul but i can't translate it. I mean, a few simple word i can understand it.. but when reading a long sentences, i can't. can you suggest me what to do.. i wan't to learn so bad.. but i dunno what to do :'(

well if you can read the letters that's a great start!! all you need to do is work on your vocabulary and grammar. if you're a very beginner level, i would suggest working on vocabulary first. when i was first learning korean, i would use any website and any korean language learning book i could find. the "beginner lessons" from a lot of these resources are very good for building basics. here's an example of one that I like: http://www.learnkoreanlanguage.com/learn-korean-beginners.html
near the end they even have some tenses and grammar. but everyone is different, so if you don't like this you should look for something else that suits you better :) don't give up though~

hi sweet! I'm writing a BA thesis abt South Korea's role in Asia and I want to know if there's any information in English abt companies or gov abt export and such... It was pretty hard for me to find it TT thanks in advance! ~ ♥

errr well i'm no expert on these things, but i'm sure there's plenty of what you're looking for. if you want real documents and journals, you should check a database. i used Google Scholar before. but i really don't use those often, so i don't know too much about them. just keep searching! and keep your search limited to those types of databases with credible sources and info ^^;; good luck >.< sorry i can't be more help

You lost a lot of your twitter friends huh...? Is it because of your hiatus?

because i was severely depressed...when i was depressed, i didn't know how to handle it so i cut communication with almost everyone. it ruined a lot of my friendships, but you know, shit happens...at least i'm better now.

Heidi~ what if JongKey perform 'Talk Dirty To Me' in SMTown or SWC or Keystavid? what are gonna do? :3

are you kidding me i would laugh and cry at the same time and then i would probably throw myself off the roof of my building hahahahaha
((btw jongkey performing ANYTHING is perfect))

Do u know when's shinee,s comeback?

no idea :( because of taemin and super junior and the concert and key's musical and their japan tour, it seems like they might not have a korean comeback until 2015 after the japan tour is over T_T

hi heidi, is there any way i can get this bottle (http://www.1300k.com/events/chance/chanceView.html?f_sp=sb513&f_eno=63590&bid=MM0022&f_deviceflag=M) because i can't read korean ;;;; sorry for the trouble

yes, if you click one of the photos it will take you to the sale page for that bottle. it says overseas shipping is available. but if you want to design one yourself, i think there are websites that let you do that. or you can order a shinee one with a design you like from a fansite that's selling them. but if you want to order it from the website you might need someone who knows korean to help you step by step to make an account and place the order >< i can't explain it all in an ask, sorry

what is 평가하지마 mean?

평가 means "evaluate/rate/assess", so 평가하지마 means something like "do not evaluate". I don't know the context but.. yup ^^

Hi Heidi! ^^ For the Lucky Box memo pad, is the member's face on every piece of the paper or is the photo only for the cover of the whole pad? Thank you <3

The photo is on every page! It's super cute :) here's what it looks like.

Hello! Do you know if there is a way to offer any scenarios/scripts to korean drama channels? I really want to try, but I don't know if it's possible and which channels or centers are opened for such stuff.. I hope you can answer. Thank you lots in advance <3

Actually, I've never even thought about that before o__o I have no idea how you would do that, but I think the best way to find out is to email some different companies and ask. But I think even if they do accept that kind of thing, it should probably be in Korean...because they won't want to translate something just to check it out. hmmm ><;; sorry I really have no idea about this!!

Hey Heidi! I will be living in Korea and I would like to know SHINee's schedules. How can I know that? Thank you so much ㅠㅠ

All of SHINee's schedules and notices (info about events you can attend) are posted in the schedule and notice board on http://shinee.smtown.com ^^

what i need to do to become an official shawol? with the card id and stuff? ㅠㅠ

SM hasn't opened the 'SHINee World' fanclub for registration since early 2009, so no one can become a member now. We don't know when they will open the fanclub again, or if they will at all. Until now, SM hasn't opened any fanclub in years. We thought they might be getting rid of fanclubs completely, since SHINee and Girls' Generation's fanclubs haven't been opened for 5~6 years and f(x) never even got one. But since EXO's official fanclub EXO-L just opened, we were excited because that means SM hasn't forgotten about us or given up on fanclubs. But EXO-L is a bit different from other fanclubs (it's open globally, it's free, and there's no physical ID card or merch). Since it's different, we're still a little worried that it might be special for EXO and that SM might not open our fanclubs again. Or if they do, they might be like this one and not give us an ID card. I'd be really sad if that happens. Anyway, you can't join a fanclub until the "registration period" opens. For SHINee World and other SM fanclubs, we don't know when that will be.. ㅠㅠ keep hoping...

Where did u get this pic http://t.co/BlmcHoOWNO? Im confused... the pic in kyuhyun twitter is not that pic??? Only kyu's convo with changmin..so???

kyuhyun posted 3 or 4 photos. sometimes you cant see it on some apps. check again, try scrolling sideways.

Hi, since youve seen SHINee afew times in fansigns, im just wondering if they shave the hair on their arms. Hahahaha this is probably abit weird and awkward but i've been really curious about that for awhile

omg...haha i never actually looked closely at their arms o.o but usually koreans aren't very hairy on their arms!! i don't know if they shave them but either way i don't think shinee would have very hairy arms hehe XD ;;

Wowwww I'm very impressed! I guess you're good and talented in language skill!

oh thank you T_T i've always been very interested in languages, they come pretty easily to me. and now i'm studying linguistics :D

I see i see. Can you recommend me pretty places and cafes i should visit in Kor? And what are the places which sell kawaii and cheap things? Thankyou so much for answering!! ^^

you should go shopping around edae (ewha woman's university) for cute cheap stuff, and also visit the edae campus because it's very beautiful!! as for cafes, i'm not sure about specific ones to recommend...but you gotta go to a cat cafe or puppy cafe ^^

heidi can you PLZZZZ tell what ppl rumored about Jonghyun in that cafe recently? Anyone wont tell me :(( just saying it was bad thing you shouldn't know it :'(

i'm so sorry, but...i have to say the same :( to respect jonghyun, it shouldn't be talked about...if i told you, that would mean i was spreading the rumor too. it's not that i don't believe you're a fan or that you're a good person, but even just telling someone what happened keeps the rumor alive, even if you don't believe it. especially if i said it here in public, that would be bad. here, rumors are dealt with by cutting them off completely, pretending they never even existed...which mean no mention of it...at all. that's why fansites and shawols are blocking their data from being shared on those sites, bc they are cutting all ties. i'm really sorry...it's nothing against you or anyone else. but we really can't and shouldn't talk about it ㅠㅠ;;;

Can you explain how prerec works? So they do a rehearsal, they record the live audio first, then the choreo, then closeups? How does SHINee do it? Thanks!

it depends on the group, show, stage, song, etc! usually they do one rehearsal (where they check the cameras and background LCD screens/props etc are all working correctly and the members have enough room on the stage, etc), then they do some takes until they get what they need. if there is a mistake or something they may stop the performance and have them start over. if the video doesn't come out well, they'll ask for more takes. they don't always do an audio runthrough (without full dancing), i've only seen that rarely. many times performances are like half lip-synced. where they are really singing but they're singing over their own audio in the background. or they just lip sync completely. the closeups are filmed during the normal takes (since there are like 5-10 cameras filming at once, they all film different things and different angles, some are closeups). but if there is something special that needs to be done for the stage (for example, some of shinee's wss and everybody stages where they had the camera pan by some of their faces while they laid on the ground) they can take some time to set that up and film it separately. they may even use a person standing on the stage holding a camera by hand. so they chop together bits of what that guy filmed and bits from the other takes so you don't actually see him standing on the stage LOL that's what they did for shinee's dream girl ballad ver at mbc gayo daejun! the camera that panned across all their faces and around henry was a guy walking around on stage and another guy following him and holding the camera's cord. LOL that's a bit funny.
i've seen artists (including shinee) go up to about 10 takes. but most of the time, shinee finishes in 1 or 2 takes. it's so disappointing, waiting outside for 6 hours and then going in to only see shinee for 10 minutes LOL. they have quite a reputation for being super quick. shinee are one-shot wonders. haha i remember i saw an everybody recording once where they did one single take and we were just waiting there while they reviewed the video, and then they're all "it's good, you can leave". LMAO shawols are just like UGHHHH *rolls eyes*.....so proud of shinee for being perfect all the time keke but mannnn i wish they took longer at recordings!! XDDD

how did you learn korean? did you learn by yourself?

hushk28’s Profile Photokhansa
yes, by myself. i never took a formal class, only some informal ones taught by volunteers from the university and church in andong. the classes were pretty short though, and very lenient. i don't consider them similar to a university class. mostly i just study by observing, and reading books (like korean teaching books, grammar books, not novels. though that would help too in different ways!) also listening to kpop helped me, and living in korea for two years...obviously helped a lot ^^;; haha

okay thankyou for answering! so im planning to go to kor just for a holiday but im kinda confused, shall i take a course for korean language or can i just go ahead to kor and use my not-so-well english skill? -since there are some ppl telling me than koreans' english arent that good:/

you can definitely survive in korea if you don't speak korean. really, you can survive anywhere if you don't speak the language, but it just makes it less convenient. and you're forced to depend on others for almost everything. so it's always good to study as much as you can! if your holiday is short, then just basics should be fine. but the more of the language you learn the more you will enjoy yourself and feel comfortable. i really reccommend you learn as much as you can! :)
