uhhhhggggggg i really hope you come up with an idea for bandau soon! ahhhhhh im really anticipating it! maybe they have a battle of the bands type thing coming up and their band mates start getting pissed that they're friends/they get suspicious of foul play?

i'll try my best, anon!! and thank you for the ideas, too ;u; i think i'll probably try and fit in some of the tension between the two of them being friends in rival bands; there's a lot to be explored in that!

baeksoo / one of them is dying of a terminal illness and they spend their last moments together on the hospital bed

i debated over this for a while, but i think i will have to turn down writing this. it's not that i have anything against the prompt, but i don't feel terminal illness is something i can write about without a lot of time, research, and careful thinking. like with previous prompts i've turned down, it's more a personal comfort thing than anything else.

Sunggyu sighs and replies, "I don't have to be cute because I'm the youngest, do I?"
"No," Myungsoo says. "But I like it when you're cute."
"I dislike it," Sunggyu says flatly. He waves his arms around bonelessly, in a mocking attempt at aegyo, but Myungsoo just laughs and pats him on the head affectionately before reaching out to put his arm around Sunggyu's waist.
"See? I told you, it's a waste," he says.
"You're so weird, hyung," Sunggyu says, but he leans over and rests his head on Myungsoo's shoulder anyway.

baeksoo / main vocal rivalry in exo

"I won, so admit my superiority," Baekhyun crows, pointing the noraebang microphone at Kyungsoo and smirking.
"Noraebang scores have nothing to do with actual singing skill, just how loudly you can scream into the microphone," Kyungsoo says tersely.
"All I hear are excuses," Baekhyun replies. The tips of Kyungsoo's ears start going red. (Joonmyun discretely shoves a few bills at Chanyeol in a vain attempt to bribe him to sit in between them during the car ride home. Chanyeol shakes his head solemnly and passes them back.)

jongbin; jongsuk is a arrogant rich kid but gets lost in the mountains and ends up needing to live with woobins family in the woods in their mountain shack until they can bring him back in the summer. (of course by then jongsuk doesnt want to leave....)

Jongsuk has a way of growing on a person, Woobin thinks, because he's not entirely sure when he stopped being annoyed at Jongsuk ("It's like he has no concept of how to live without somebody handing things to him on a plate," he complains to his mother, who is clearly not paying attention) and started thinking to himself that Jongsuk's actually kind of endearing. "I did it," Jongsuk says triumphantly, wiping his forehead as he stands back to look at the fruits of his labor. "Every room is /sparkling/ clean, okay. Not even you could find any fault with it."
He can't, to be honest, but he tries anyway. "Good job," he replies. "But it took you all day."
Jongsuk rolls his eyes but smiles. "It takes you all day when you have to do it too, so don't even tell me that's a real complaint," he says.
"Yeah, whatever," Woobin says, which he knows is quite possibly the worst comeback ever. Jongsuk just laughs, and Woobin feels like he should be irritated, but he's not.

Outside, the sky is clear and the stars shine bright. Jongsuk, he knows, has a certain fascination with them -- "I've never seen so many of them before," he'd once admitted.
They lie on the ground together, side by side. The late night dew forming on the grass is wet on the skin, but neither of them say anything. "They're still beautiful, every time," Jongsuk murmurs. "When I look at them, I kind of feel like I don't want to leave."
Woobin kind of doesn't want him to, either.

Thoughts on Xiumin?

first and foremost, i admire him very much for deciding to be a part of exo-m despite the language barrier, etc. i know he sometimes gets shit for not knowing much mandarin and/or being too shy to speak it, but honestly, i've been in a mandarin-speaking household my whole life and i still get nervous when i have to speak it ;u;
a random collection of opinions and thoughts and impressions:
- he seems very collected and responsible and reminds me of a mature upperclassman type? he definitely doesn't act as if the other members should treat him differently for being the oldest; if anything, it feels like he wants to take care of them bc he's the oldest. forget kris, xiumin is the true senpai
- i think he's more talented than sm is letting us see bc he can dance pretty well and he got into sm through a singing competition. why that is i don't know, but i definitely hope we'll hear him singing more in the future!!
- probably the kind of guy who makes friends with a lot of different types of people and is generally easy to get along with. he seems pretty non-judgmental, ig?
- but i also get the impression that he's probably (personally) a stickler for the rules, altho he would understand why others might not be. he seems very... proper? well-mannered? i'm not sure the word exactly i'm looking for...
- he's very... un-idol like? i don't know how to describe it, exactly, but just how quiet he is seems at odds with the industry he chose to go into
- i sometimes wonder if he's discontent with how exo and his role within exo has played out, but i don't have any strong opinions on whether he is or isn't.

There's a certain look that stylists seem to like to put on Woobin: monochromic color palettes of white and black and grays, cuts that are long and sleek, and layers upon layers. "Your pants are looking awfully tight today," Jongsuk comments lightly. "Do you think you'll be able to walk straight?"
"Non-participants shouldn't be backstage," Woobin replies in a tone of affected loftiness. "Normal people can go sit down in their seats and wait."
Jongsuk smiles slightly. "But my seat's all the way in the back, and I don't think I'll get a good view. And then I won't be able to see my favorite model when he comes down the runway -- so I have to take my chances when I get them, you know?"
"I'm quite tall," Woobin replies. "I think you'll manage."
"Who said I was talking about you? My favorite model is Lee Soohyuk," Jongsuk says, wrinkling his nose in mock distaste. "Although I suppose your point still stands -- he /is/ quite tall."
"And here I thought you were here to support me," Woobin says, and sighs.
I was, until you told me to get out," he teases. There's a pause, and the next he speaks, his voice is a little softer than before: "That outfit suits you well -- you look good."
"Thank you," Woobin replies -- Jongsuk likes that after all this time, Woobin still sounds so genuinely flattered when people say little things like that. "The pants really are tight, though."
Jongsuk laughs. "Walk carefully," he says. "And make sure to look near the back when you get on the runway, alright? For your biggest fan's sake."
Woobin makes no promises, but when he comes down the runway, he holds his head up a little higher than usual.

Jongin is...?

- almost my chingu, so it's ok when i think "oh no he's hot"
- easily shipped with almost all of exo
- he seems like a really great guy overall? he comes off to me as shy and earnest but tries to put up a confident front and that's just really cute to me haha
- i'd be friends with him n__n

what are some of your studying habits?

- i never study past 1am. at that point, it's already super late and i don't think my brain will take in more info if i tried, anyway Q___Q only once have i ever studied past 1am, and it was the kind of "i looked up once and it was midnight, then i looked up again and it was 2:30am HOW" incident.
- i memorize by (hand)writing, so i take class notes, i take book notes, i make study sheets. i make study sheets of my study sheets, repeat ad nauseam. each time i try to consolidate each version more, leaving out the things i'm confident i won't have trouble with. with math/econ, i do as many practice problems as possible.
- i always take breaks after 2-3 hours -- don't wanna burn myself out!
- if i am tired, i always choose to sleep rather than study. if i'm hungry when i'm studying, i always stop to eat a snack. i tend to value health>>>grades, so i take precautions to not stress myself out too much, as i tend to deal with stress in very unhealthy ways.
- i listen to music as i study.
- i usually study by myself, i don't really feel productive studying in a group :(
- studying time = pajama time
- it's hard for me to study with my laptop because the internet is so distracting and my will is so weak (；▽；) so i try not to, if i can help it ...

exok ; ot6 ; high school!au / everyone is struggling to get into college and there is lazy baekhyun who does nothing but sleep and yet does the best amongst the six, getting into an ivy league

The morning after results from Yale come back, Jongin comes into school with a frown on his face so wide that nobody even has to ask to know why he's upset. "You know, going to an Ivy doesn't really mean anything anyway," Joonmyun says, attempting to be consoling about things. It really doesn't help.
"I can still believe," Jongin mutters under his breath. "Brown hasn't gotten back to me yet."
"Just give it up," Sehun advises. "Brown basically isn't an Ivy anyway." He doesn't even have to look up to dodge the pencil Jongin throws in his direction.
"You've already gotten into plenty of good schools, though," Kyungsoo says, reaching over to pat him on the shoulder lightly. "Don't feel down, Jongin."
"And, hey, you're still going further than the rest of us," Chanyeol points out. "I don't even know if Baekhyun's gotten accepted anywhere yet." There's a pause. "Actually, I don't even know if he managed to turn in any of his applications in on time, for that matter."
From two desks down, Baekhyun asks, "Are you guys back-talking me? I think I heard my name." He yawns and picks his head up, stretching his arms out before turning to look at them.
"We're talking about colleges. Have you heard back from anywhere yet, Baekhyun?" Chanyeol asks.
He shrugs. "Yeah, I got into a few places. Tufts. Pomona," Baekhyun lists off, pausing slightly between each school. "Uh... Johns Hopkins. And also Yale."
"That's ni -- wait, what?" Chanyeol asks.
Jongin turns to look at Baekhyun so fast that for a second it almost looks like his neck is in danger of snapping. "You," he says, "you got into Yale."
"I guess so," Baekhyun replies, and shrugs.
"It's official," Sehun says. "Baekhyun is now that guy everybody simultaneously hates and wants to be. Congratulations, Baekhyun, on your stunning achievement."
Baekhyun rolls his eyes and gives Sehun a thumbs-down before settling his head back down into his arms to resume his nap.

aside: ivies really don't mean anything tho!! e__e it's about the student, not the place of study. "doing the best" when it comes to getting into college is v subjective. (i don't mean to preach tho, i get where you're coming from!)

Woogyu as cats!

please imagine that woohyun is a gray cat with puffy long-hair fur and sunggyu is a chubby tabby that could give grumpy cat a run for its money

The best thing about being domesticated, in Sunggyu's opinion, is that all he's really expected to do in life is not pee in places other than the litter box and attempt to not attack things. As far as his human owners are concerned, he could lie around in the sunny patch under the window all day, and they'd just coo at him for being so adorable. He's just claimed his favorite spot on the couch and is ready to sink down into the third nap of the day when he remembers the worst part of being domesticated: the company.
"Are you sleeping again? Let's do something fun instead," Woohyun says, poking at his side. Sunggyu attempts to ignore him, rolling over to his other side, but Woohyun doesn't let up.
"Don't want to," Sunggyu replies. "Leave me alone."
"But," Woohyun says. He won't stop pawing at Sunggyu's fur.
"Stop it or I'm going to scratch your face off," Sunggyu says.
"We're declawed," Woohyun replies cheerfully. "C'mon, isn't it boring sleeping so much?"
Sunggyu kind of wants to try anyway, but he really hates moving. "Sleeping is the best," he grumbles. "I don't want to get up right now."
For a few moments, Sunggyu thinks he's somehow managed to win the argument -- but then, Woohyun sinks down next to him instead, a little too close for Sunggyu's comfort. "What are you doing," Sunggyu asks flatly.
"I'm sleeping," Woohyun replies. "Since it's apparently the best."
Woohyun is kind of comfortable, which is the only -- the /only/ -- reason that Sunggyu allows it.

I am so dumb hahaha I read krischen as KITchen and got excited and then confused why you wrote kris??

kit/chen would go something more like this:
"chen gege," kit whispers. "sing into my ear, chen. sing me to sleep with your beautiful, melodic voice. also can you introduce me to suho?"
"what," chen replies. he does not speak english, but he does not need english to know that this girl is probably saying weird things.
... UNLESS you mean kitchen as in the place where you cook things, in which case ignore all of this CR Y

Krischen; Hipster Chen is mad that Kris (who he thinks is totally not cool/hipster enough) got the job at the campus coffee shop instead of him, but is eventually made to see the awesomeness that is Kris/the fact that he got hired because he brings in so many girl customers.

Kris doesn't speak any Romance languages except roughly twenty words of badly-pronounced French. He doesn't have an opinion on Foucault (not to mention his severe lack of thought on Nietzsche's Übermensch), nor has he read a single word of Proust, and Chen's attempt to start a conversation with him about Joyce's Finnegans Wake leaves Kris blank-eyed. "But you at least follow Pitchfork, right?" Chen asks, as a last-ditch attempt to like Kris.
"Is that a magazine on farming or something?" Kris replies.
Chen sighs and shakes his head. "Just give me my mocha latte, you pleb," he says. There's not the faintest doubt in his mind that Kris doesn't have any of the qualifications to work at a coffee shop, never mind the fact that the only qualification one truly needs to work at a coffee shop is the ability to work a brewer and some semblance of the understanding of customer service.
"Okay," Kris replies. He seems faintly amused, for some reason or another.

It takes a while, but after two weeks of careful observation, he finally gets it. "He's a chick magnet," he says to Joonmyun as the two of them sip coffees and do their readings for their introductory sociology class. "Albeit mainstream and rather bland, his face and fashion sense appeal to the common female teenage and-or young adult."
"I think you are acknowledging Kris is hot," Joonmyun says. "Are you acknowledging that Kris is hot?"
"I'm merely observing the social phenomena arising from the fact that his demeanor is classically attractive, although what is considered classically attractive in and of itself is just a social construct, anyway," Chen replies. He's pretty sure that the entire sentence he said was full of meaningless buzzwords, but then, most of the sentences he says are full of meaningless buzzwords.
"Haha," Joonmyun replies. "I'm telling everybody you think Kris is hot."
(Okay, Chen admits to himself grudgingly. He maybe-kind-of-not-really finds Kris hot, but only in a strictly ironic hate-attraction kind of way.) "Haha," Chen echoes. "I'll tell everybody exactly what you think of Oh Sehun's ass."
Joonmyun shuts up.
