woogyu; woohyun dragging sunggyu onto a ferris wheel and they battle uncomfortable silence
From the moment they get into the Ferris wheel car, an uncomfortable silence takes over, and as they rise higher and higher Woohyun begins to regret dragging Sunggyu onto it in the first place. "The view is nice, right?" he asks, rather weakly. Sunggyu nods without looking, though, continuing to stare intently at his lap, and Woohyun can't think of anything else to say.
It's not until they're at the very top of the wheel that Sunggyu suddenly blurts out, "I'mscaredofheights."
Woohyun stares. "Come again?" he asks.
"I'm. Scared. Of heights," Sunggyu repeats, tone somewhere in between irritated and terrified, and it'd be funny if his face weren't so pale.
/Oh, fuck,/ Woohyun thinks to himself. "I am so sorry," he says, "I didn't mean to --"
"I know you didn't mean to," Sunggyu cuts in. His knuckles are starting to go white with how hard he's clenching his hands, Woohyun notices.
"I'll remember that next time," Woohyun promises, reaching over to awkwardly pat Sunggyu's knee -- he's pretty sure that's not going to make Sunggyu feel any better, but he can't think of anything else that might reassure him. "Is there anything I can do to help in the meanwhile?"
Sunggyu looks up for the first time. There's a moment of hesitation, but then he reaches out and grabs Woohyun's hand, clutching at it like a lifeline. "I'm going to close my eyes now," he says. "Tell me when it's over."
A few minutes later, they finally reach the bottom again. "Thanks," Sunggyu says quietly (Woohyun immediately stores it into his memory banks -- it's not a word he hears often from Sunggyu), but when he tries to let go, Woohyun holds on.
