What would you give to your boyfriend for Christmas if you had one? Gifts for men are so fucking hard :(

I'm kind of good at buying presents.
Sweater, cologne, a watch, scarf, belt, tickets to some concert, cineville jaarkaart, museum pass, subscription to a newspaper/magazine, books, records, a lighter with inscription (thinking of giving my dad one for Chridtmas. "There's a light that never goes out" engraved would be kind of hilarious but he probably wouldn't get the Smiths reference).

What are your plans for today?

Haven't done anything productive so far. Except for eating donuts and vegetable crisps. Think I'm going to watch Lawrence of Arabia now. And I'm cooking risotto for dinner. Skyfall's on TV tonight but I kind of want to read "Transparent Things" too.

Haha, no! It's all makeup!
My closet mostly consists of Zara and the likes, so you could easily obtain my wardrobe (sort of), haha. ;-)
I don't shop much. I don't like shopping as an activity, definitely no hobby of mine. Looking at my closet, I mostly seem to buy blouses and jumpers and I have a weakness for fancy dresses even though I rarely have an occasion to wear them. My latest purchase is a pair of earrings from Topshop, a silk slip dress (Christmas present from my mom) and a book on postmodernist film.

Are you high maintenance? Explain.

I'm doing my homework with pin curls in my hair, a face mask while I'm waiting for my nail polish to dry before I can elaborately do my makeup even though I don't have any special event tonight. I'd rather be late for class then having to go out without "my face on". Even though I don't mind going out in my pyjamas to walk my dog or to get groceries from the supermarket ha.

Sorry, I thought it was a lipstick. I'm just such a sleepy head these days.. sorry for double asking!

I'm obsessed with a nude polish from Rimmel, 127 "Gentle Kiss". The Rimmel x Kate Moss nude lipstick line offers some great colours. Maybelline 24hr lipstick in 640 "Nude Pink Beige Rose" is great.

Any exciting weekend plans ahead?

Haha, why would you care about my weekends? ;-)
Anyway my weekend in retrospect:
On Thursday I skipped class to go to the cinema at 10.15 instead to see "Y'aura t'il de la neige à Noël?" and in the evening I met up with a friend for dinner and "Jane B", a film about Jane Birkin by Agnes Varda, shown in the most unlikely place I've been to so far to watch a movie. Friday I took the train to Maastricht to visit Mandy. We had cake for lunch, visited some shops and then we had really good burgers for dinner. As soon as I got home I watched "A Very Murray Christmas". On Saturday I took it (a bit too) easy, cleaned my room and then got ready to go to the movies to see "El Club". I met up with Silvana afterwards for "Mon Roi" and a few glasses of red wine. Just got home from Amsterdam. I went to the Magnum photo exhibition in Foam and met up with my family later for lunch, a bit of shopping and burgers at Thrill Grill. It won't be long until I pass out on the couch, even though I really should be studying. I'll try to make up for it tomorrow by getting up extra early (who am I even kidding though).

No, I don't give a fuck about Christmas. I'm a Holiday Hater. I find it all so corny and superficial.
I don't expect any presents even though we'll be exchanging gifts. In that case, I'll just ask for cheap, practical things, such as tights and makeup fixing spray. I much prefer splurging on gifts for others.

Hi Kim it's still me..unfortunately I haven't made up my mind yet..so I need a last advice from you. Between the Gucci loafers and the Valentino black tango shoes, what would you choose??? Thanks again for you time and kindness :-)

You're not making it any easier, as they're completely different. ;-) The Valentinos are prettier, but the loafers look more comfortable and suitable for every day. Still, if you wear heels often and you're sure you'll get enough wear out of them, I'd pick the Valentino pumps. :-)

Which curling iron did you buy? I'm hesitating still which brand actually will do the trick..

I bought the cheapest one I could find, haha. Just a regular curling tang by Tectake for €12,95.

Do you ever curl or straighten your hair?

I bought a curling iron last week, now I'm one step closer to Old Hollywood Glamour, haha... I never ever straighten my hair, it's straight enough already.

Which book(s) are you currently reading and how do like it so far?

The Autobiography of My Mother by Jamaica Kincaid. If you're into Marguerite Duras, Anaïs Nin, Jean Rhys and postcolonial literature, you'll love this (I am). I'm trying to decide on which book I want to write an essay for my Postmodern literature course, so I'm leafing through some favourites. The trouble is, I can never choose. I can't choose between things I love, ideas that all seem equally bad/good etc so I might change topics until like a few hours before the actual deadline, haha. :|

Which cooking books or authors do you like?

Sophie Dall, Jamie Oliver, Nigella, Ottolenghi. I'm not much of a cookbook reader and buyer though.
