Yes, I like the redones. I like the normal 501s too. I don't like blue skinny jeans.

Which far away countries or places you still like to visit one day?

I know this is a super genetic answer but I honestly want to go everywhere. However, I would love to visit Mexico and Indonesia again.

Maastricht isn't at the top of my favourite cities list and I don't know the city well. I like Burgerlijk (great burgers), Dominicanen kerk for books, coffee lovers, cafe Zondag, Trader's Pop, Dille & Kamille and I've been meaning to go to the Bonnefantenmuseum since like forever. Enjoy your trip. :)

What are your weekend plans?

I'm meeting my best friend in Amsterdam tomorrow to visit FOAM and lunch and some shopping. Later on two other friends will join for dinner and some of us will go to a Old Hollywood party. I'm sleeping over at one of my friend's, so on Saturday we'll probably go out for breakfast and a movie. I need to study on Sunday.

Do you ever wear shorts? I'm thinking to cutting off my Levi's 501 and turn them into shorts.

Why do you care??? Last week because I had too many gin & tonics. But that doesn't really count. I can't remember the last time I was sick.

I usually buy my books in second hand bookstores. Browsing through shelves of old books is one of my hobbies.
The nail polish is €2 polish from Hema in "Ready Red" nr10 and the lipstick is Maybelline 542 (I think) in "Cherry Pie".

movie director, actress, novelist, film and literary critic, journalist, poet, academic writing smart books and essays and teaching at top universities, painter, artist, musician, curator, photographer, publisher, distributer, film programmer, baker, barista, bookstore owner, interior decorater, art director, stylist (not really, but still it would be nice to get paid picking out clothes), diplomat, journalist in russia, makeup artist (also not really that much, but still)

Amsterdam obviously, definitely! I like Rotterdam, Den Haag (I live there), Groningen, Maastricht, Haarlem, Leiden, Utrecht (although you won't need a whole day for the last three)

What is your favourite book? Have you finished reading Americanah? How is/was it?

Oh my god, I'm answering this a year late. You've probably read Americanah by now. I thought it pretty good and a very important book as it addresses very important issues that more white people should be aware of.
I always feel like re-reading Salinger, Nabokov, Wilde, Plath. I'm happy to have read Carol. If I had to choose just one book out of many favourites, I'd pick Lolita.

Haha, good to hear I "look" like a literate girl.
I currently don't have any time to read fictions as I have to read hundreds of pages of academic texts for my classe every week. :-( I was reading a biography on David Lynch but that's currently on hold. Last fiction I read was in January, Carol by Patricia Highsmith.
There are countless of books I still want to read, so I'm not even going to attempt to liar some here. The next novel I'll pick up depends on my mood, who knows what's going to be on my bedside table next. ;-)

Oh, niets aan het handje. Ik had ze besteld via mn zusje's account, dus de bestelling wordt naar het adres van m'n ouders gestuurd.

Ja, maar ik had geen zin om te reageren. Inderdaad moeilijk kiezen, ze zijn zo verschillend. Dat paar van H&M heb ik besteld, maar naar een ander adres laten versturen dus ik weet niet hoe ze in het echt zijn. Misschien gaan voor het paar van COS? Die zijn ook in het echt leuk en ze zijn vast comfortabel.

Is modernity a choice?

First there should be made a distinction between modernity and modernism. Modernism is the product of modernity. Also important to note, modernity after Western standards is not a means to measure civilization.
Modernity isn't something one chooses or measures either. At least, you can choose it up to a point. You can choose whether you want to make use of technological developments but modernity is primarily an episteme which develops outside of individual choice. As modernity is both a historical period and a set of socio-economic and socio-cultural norms and practices. I'm not sure in what context you're asking whether modernity is a choice but I'd say it isn't.

I don't think it's as good as the previous collection, but I like the supima cotton mesh crew neck sweaters (the second one, not the one with the contrasting colours), milano rib v-neck sweater, v-neck tunic, boat neck t-shirt, cotton stand collar sleeve shirt, extra fine cotton sleeve shirt, cotton patterned shirt, oxford shirt, seersucker sleeveless dress, belted long sleeve dress, supima cotton knit dress, oxford wide leg pants, seersucker pants, cotton twill pants, seersucker flare skirt.

What are your plans for today?

I baked brownies, visited my grandmother, bought stuff a IKEA in under 15 minutes, read a bit and I watched two movies.
