Shai- I asked the recent question regarding oils a couple of days ago. Thanks for much for talking the time out to education us about our hair & for repeating the same advice! Many of us are learning for the 1st time how to properly care for our tresses. Really grateful for your wisdom!

That's what I'm here for. I love sharing what I know so we can have more curly girls with pretty hair.

My hair is so damaged I can not even wear my hair down anymore without it looking crazy. It is constantly breaking off and shedding. It is EXTREMELY DRY and I have no idea what to do!! I need your help! Any suggestions as well as business hours so I can schedule an appointment for this Saturday. :)

Please call the @CAPELLAsalon (818)784-4247 for a consultation. Sounds like you can use a good trim & a treatment.
As far as your damaged hair it's a life lesson that you should share with your friends warning them about hair damage from chemicals & heat

From reading your blog & watching your youtube channel it seems that you're not crazy about oils. Are oils a def no or is the way in which oils are applied the problem? I use Deva One conditioner & Heaven in Hair & this is not always enough, especially in the winter. Suggestions for kinkycurler. thx

So many girls abuse oils & they apply it to wet hair using it as a styling product. Some even add more daily to get shine but it ends up a greasy mess. Certain oils will go rancid if left in hair too long. I just can't justify leaving oil in hair for a week, 2 or even 3 without a good cleanse. If you go gardening & your hands get dirty would you coat your hands with oils? I doubt it. Your scalp is part of your skin & it needs proper cleansing so you don't have buildup or end up with a smelly head.
I've seen great results from girls that use coconut oil as a pre cleanse. The excess oil is removed with your cleanse and then you follow it with a moisturizing conditioner.
I'm here to encourage women to have healthy but also fresh hair. Nobody wants to smell a dirty head.

By using devacurl selection of products, will I get Capella salon results or close to it ? And how long will it take to get Capella salon results?

We teach our clients when they come in

I normally use shea moisture in my hair with some conditioner from the shower but since you prefer that your clients don't come in with shea moisture, I was wondering if I should just leave the conditioner in or come with no product when I come in for a haircut

It's impossible to remove the Shea butter in order to properly hydrate your hair. Please stop using it at least a week prior to your visit to maximize the best results from my treatment.
Please leave some regular conditioner in your hair & add a little gel for definition. Make sure there's no Shea in your conditioner either.

After years of straighteing my hair I no longer have curls what's the best way to get my curls back I'm already stopped putting heat to my hair ! Also what products do you use

Well, you'll have to gradually cut off the hair you fried & treat the new hair with respect. Keep it curly & moisturize it

Are you going to come to London?

When 20 girls organize it & pay for my hotel & airfare. I can't wait to make it happen

So the only way to trim my hair every 3 months I have to straighten it cause no one specializes in cutting curly hair.. I was wondering if it's bad that I'm straightening it every like 4 months. Will it prevent my hair from growing?

You don't wear it straight so you shouldn't cut it straight. Blowfrying your curly hair straight will burn your hair & damage your curls.

I need your help! My curls are dry and do not move at all! They just look like a mess but I live in South africa which is way too far from us

My blog is very helpful ->>> ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com

You're not really answering the question though... How exactly cleanest my scalp?

By scrubbing it really well with a sulfate free cleanser

Sometimes after I have restyled my hair I pull it downward in sections while blow drying on a cooling setting to stretch the curls. Is this potentially damaging to my hair?

Shouldn't if you're not stretching with a brush

I think I've brushed out one side of my hair too much from constantly using a side ponytail on that side only and now that side of my hair has less defined curls than the other. How can I get my curl pattern back on that side?

When are you coming to england???? Or France?

As soon as 16 girls can organize it & pay my travel expenses

How exactly do you remove build up?

By washing hair with a silicone free shampoo it will eventually remove all buildup

Some say to not put shampoo at the top of the hair, when washing, only 2 inches from the scalp and when conditioning only put at the top because when rinsing out it will flow down the hair to the ends and DO NOT lather, is this reliable advice?

Cleanse your scalp & condition your hair

If I sleep with bantu knots every night will it eventually change my hair texture?

I've never tried that

How often should I deep condition my curly hair ?

At least once a week with a silicone or paraben free conditioner

You should post a video on YouTube or on your website on how to properly diffuse curly hair

It's different for every person. I'll teach you when you come for a cut

Okay so I'm in the process of growing my hair out and I've notice as it gets longer my curls are becoming looser... Is this normal ? At one point when I was a child I did have super long hair and my hair was basically straight with just ringlets at the end ... But I haven't experience that since I w

The longer it is the heavier it is so it weighs it down & stretching it

We'll I straighten my hair a lot and have died it and bleach it a few time and I really want my curls back what can I do ? Please help

I'm sorry but it's nearly impossible to revive dead hair. Lesson learned, now treat it properly. Follow my advice on ->>> ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com

People always say it good to braid your hair at night when you sleep so it'll grow ... Will this mess with my curl pattern ?

Depends on the braid & your hair
