Hi, I have a lot of natural hair.. and I just wanna know so I don't make this mistake, if someone has lice and you let them use your flatiron, can the lice get stuck on the metal part and then it goes in your hair?

I love your work but I'm afraid of getting a devacut because I'm scared that it won't be even if/when I straighten it. I've seen people complain about uneven devacuts (not by you!!) on youtube. Is that a common problem?
It depends who does it. It's not meant to be worn starlight; you're not supposed to blowfry the curls straight.
Must very difficult to cut even curls with this method that's why my 20 year experience helps me create better hair.
But please tell your trusted stylist you want to wear it straight sometimes & they should accommodate you.

Just scheduled an appointment to Big Chop with you in 5 months and will be flying in from Panamá after a horrible and unwanted perm experience. Now I'm on a mad dash to grow my hair out as much as possible before then, any tips on expediting or aiding hair growth?

Can silicones mess with your hair texture? My hair wet is a textureless, Afro. It takes tons of conditioner/gel to define my curls. I'm not good with hair typing but my hair possibly is some 3c and mostly 4a. Or how can you define stubborn curls?
Silicones are bad because they coat the hair with a layer that blocks moisture from penetrating making it difficult to create a defined curl

I have a good length of hair but im not sure how to describe my curls.All i know is that the longer my hair gets the curls are loose almost looking like waves,starting from the middle of my head.on the other hand the shorter curls are more tight.Is this normal?
It's heavy so the weight stretches out your curls. Unless the ends are damaged from chemicals or straightening

The right gel is perfect. I only use DevaCurl products

I've heard great things but for some reason every new client that comes in her hair smells really sour & it leaves a heavy layer of buildup. I'm not a fan

I don't think they are "treatments" because they WILL destroy your curl pattern forever regardless of what is advertised.

there is no possible way of me going to LA because I am under 18 therefore one of my parents would have to come with me and they are busy with work so do you have any general tips for dry, lifeless, 3b/3c curly hair? I read your blog and i have been avoiding silicones and sulfates but anything else
