Is an at home color dye more damaging for your hair even if you want to go darker?

Usually it is. But formulations can be tricky if you're not an experienced colorist. I never recommend "do it yourself" hair coloring. It will cost you more to fix it later!

I don't like shea butter because it contains silicones that build up on hair & sulfates that remove the natural oils our hair needs.

It could if it's too tight with strong hold gel; it could encourage breakage

I used to use so many different hair products in my hair. But I narrowed it down and been using this method for the past 7 mouths. Aussie Hair Insurance leave-in cond. spray, Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine leave-in cond. cream, hair serum mixed with coconut oil sometimes. Sound like a good method?

If it works for you then you're using the right products. I'm just not a fan of sulfates or silicones!

Never heard of oil stimulating hair growth but if you see a change, go for it.
I'm afraid the oil will clog pores

Consult with your stylist. It's difficult to tell because I can't see how tight your curls are & how healthy your ends are.
Key factors are: products, styling, trims, heat or chemical abuse, and a complete healthy haircare

If done right with a careful stylist they can help as long as you hydrate your real hair
