are there any shampoos and conditioners that I can buy that will help restore the curls I fried when I relaxed my hair ?

No. You can't revive dead hair

i recently relaxed my curly hair and obviously my hair looks bad now...no tight curls...more like waves and even straight in some sections when its wet...i want my curls back however i live in canada! ..what is the best way for me to get my tight bouncy curls back again ?

Cut the dead hair, start fresh & don't abuse your hair. NEVER STRAIGHTEN IT NO MATTER WHAT (relaxers, perms, texturizers, blowfry, flat iron, tight braids, etc) Keep it curly!

I notice you say "after treatment" a lot. What exactly is the treatment ? Is it something that can be purchased?

The treatment is the haircut, buildup cleanse & hydrating without a heavy layer of product. For the haircut you must come to the salon

How do you make hair flow and be shaken around and returning to its original position? I know you're the curl doctor that's what you do but what causes hair to stay static?

I use products that don't build up. The pix you see are right after the trim & treatment & sometimes color so the hair is in great condition. Trims make a huge difference!

I know you don't recommend this but I want to straightin my hair but I need advice on how because my curls are so tight at the root..also it looks dry..Does the keratin treatment work? Will my curls go back? PLEASE HELP

Straightening your curls is the best way to damage your hair! Keratin will ruin your curls too

What are your recommended methods for those who can't afford to come to you right now ?

What is your opinion of tight braided styles for a long legnth of time?will that promote growth?

It will promote BALDING! This happened from overuse of braids

Is doing the big chop really the only way to repair damaged curls?

It's best to avoid it by treating the hair properly so it doesn't have to be cut off. I can usually tell by looking at the hair if it's beyond help.
A good trim always helps. Good hair care requires regular trims every 3 months just like you take your car for tune up or get your teeth cleaned.
If you follow my recommended hair care methods you might be able to save some of the hair.

So if you already got the deva cut and your trying to get a trim would you get your hair trimmed the same way or could you get it trimmed straight ??

Straightening curls is never a good idea unless you don't mind damaging your curl pattern. If you don't wear your hair straight you shouldn't trim it straight.

my daughter's hair is so thick that will washing it I have to plan it and for big plats just to wash it she would like to wear her hair natural and curly but its so thick I have not been able to find a product to make it not seem so big and able to manage after being curly.

My blog is really helpful -> ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com

If I come in for a consultation will you be able to tell me more or less what my curl pattern will look like and how short the cut will have to be?

Definitely (818)784-4247 consultation helps

Hi! I'm getting a haircut from you soon & I see you said to bring hair clean without oils etc but all my styling products have oil in them. I can wear my hair clean with no product but it is poofy curly. I'm not sure the curl will be defined enough to get a good cut. Is aragan gel by Eco styler ok?

I'd rather it be clean than have oils in it. For best results don't rinse conditioner all the way out
Hair must be dry, curly & no tangles!!!

What do you think of Moroccanoil and Oidad brands???

I call Ouidad Ouidont because I don't like how they recommend clients to get "relaxer" to fight frizz. Dry hair needs moisture not more harsh chemicals.
I also don't like their method of cutting. I had to fix a lot of their cuts.
Moroccan Oil is nice but I don't think it's great for curly hair

A few months ago my mom gave me a texturizer for just the back bottom of my hair because she said it was not curly just puffy but now the bottom of my hair is not really as curly as the top it's more wavy type I know it was a bad idea but what should I do? Will it get back curly like the rest?

I don't believe in messing with natural curl pattern so I will never use heat or chemicals to damage the curl.
Learn how to work with what you got. Regular trims are important so make sure you have your stylist check those ends. I recommend 3-4 trims a year

what do you think of the following products: KeraCare Conditioning HairCare System, Fro, Curls and mixed chicks?

Same rule of thumb; if it's sold at a discount shop like Target, Sally's, CVS, Rite Aid, Ralph's, etc it's not quality product.
I can choose any product for my salon & there's a reason you won't see these in most salons either. I only use what I feel is the best line out there. DevaCurl never disappoints me

When I wake up in the morning my hair is a total mess to the point where I have to redo it by wetting it. Is wetting my hair every morning bad for my hair?

Water won't hurt your hair

you want us to use DevaCurl so bad. but what if income doesn't allow one to buy from that product line? If CVS', Walgreen's, Target's, Walmart's and drug store products are dead end and cheap and won't work, then what do we (the ones that can't buy DevaCurl) use?

I understand. It's the best I've seen in 20 years. Try to read the ingredient list on other products to avoid harmful ingredients & maybe you will discover something else. My blog explains what to avoid ->>> ShaiAmiel.tumblr.com
Maybe instead of buying 5 cheaper products you can invest in 1 good product?

Do you believe in heat protectors? If so, which product would you recommend?

What do you mean? To use when you blowfry it straight? If you diffuse your hair, you don't need to protect it if you're using quality products.
My blog explains about proper product use

where did you specialize in curly hair, which institute?

I've been doing it for 20 years. Most of my knowledge is self taught thru experience & studying the science of curly hair.

My hair keeps breaking off every time I wash it... Anything I could use to prevent that from happening again?

3-4 trims a year, no straightening, good products & please read my blog

How do I keep my hair from breaking off?

Avoid all straightening with heat, cold air, flat irons & chemicals. Proper product use. My blog is very helpful

my spilt ends come too far up and I can't cut all of them off or my hair will become too big and frizzy, what should I do?

Visit a hairdresser that can analyze your hair. I recommend 3-4 trims a year to avoid this
