What single piece of technology makes your life easier?

My laptop (MacBook Pro). Without it, there wouldn't be any Mahafsoun all over the Internet. Haha All I create, I use this little thing, and have been using it for around 2 years now just to make Mahafsoun-related stuff.

You said in an interview that you're self-taught in belly dance! Congrats,it's too hard. If I say that I try to see videos of belly dance, including some video classes, only to try to learn some steps on my own, could you give a tip or something that I could do to make this easier or more efficient?

Thank you very much! Learning it alone isn't for everyone, and I myself won't stay like this forever. Eventually when I find a teacher I'm inspired by, I will start taking classes. I highly suggest watching dancers that inspire you. Mine for example is Zoe Jakes. I adore her feminine and smooth style. I think the more you watch a dancer you admire, the more you start to learn how they do those moves. Then look into tutorial videos that you can find all over YouTube. I also highly suggest Rachel Brice's DVD.
Also, more importantly, never give up. It gets complicating and stressful at times, trying to make your body do things that it isn't used to. Just make sure you warm up beforehand, and keep it up, eventually your body learns to follow the steps.

What do you think about tribal fusion belly dance? Do you like it?

Of course I adore it. It inspires me a lot. The techniques that it takes to do a decent tribal fusion performance is intense, something I want to try out eventually.

If you could only listen to one band for the rest of your life, what band would that be?

A Perfect Circle. I believe I would choose APC because their songs have both softness and heaviness. I don't mind playing their music 24/7. I'm always in the mood for some APC.

Hablas español??

Nope. Well, I know what this meant without the need of Google Translate. :P I know just a few words.

How often do you go to the movies?

Very rarely. I have a friend of mine, however, who calls me and drags me to the movies with her now and then, when something good comes out. I rather watch movies at home.

Do you like the Shaytards?

I used to watch them every day! Now I'm a little too busy with my own YouTube and internet works to follow some of my favourite YouTubers as much as I could in the past.

What do you want to know about the future?

Nothing. I rather live in the moment and figure everything out when the time comes. :)

This is Carlos Escamilla, and I have a question. When did you became a HUGE video gamer?

I was never "that" huge, but I started playing video games when I was 13 or so I guess.

Are you ever going to dance or perform with finger cymbals?

Maybe some day. Their noise irritates me, and only sounds/looks nice when the dancer knows how to use it, which I clearly don't at the moment. :P

Will you ever make videos showing how you do your photo shoot and daily mak up?

I've been asked countless times, so possibly I will.

What is something you do every single day?

Other than the necessities of eating, drinking and breathing... :P I am always working online concerning "Mahafsoun". I do at least a little bit every day.

Do you speak Arabic ?/understand Arabic ? , or know how to spell Arabic syllables ?

I don't, however I can speak, write and understand Farsi to a point.

I know that you are now a youtube partner. Please don't change who you are because of it. I have seen many rising stars do a completely 360 with their ways and personality...just to generate views. <3 Can you promise this? ;.;

Becoming a YouTube Partner is nothing compared to all of the other great things that happened to me as an artist. If those great things didn't manage to take my light away, this insignificant success will not either. :)

Do you sing? If no, have you at least tried to?

I do sing, and just like playing the piano, it's just a hobby for now.

Do you plan on taking belly dance lessons again? Or do you even plan to teach in the future?

Yes to both. I can't ever stop evolving, and I am always pushing myself towards learning and trying out new moves and techniques. I already do one-on-one lessons. I believe that we can always teach others who are new to this art, while learning from those who are more experienced.

do you play video games? if yeah, which one is your favorite?

I used to play video games for hours, before I started managing "Mahafsoun". Now I occasionally play. Mostly on my PSP, since I can have it anywhere with me. Two of my last favourite games were GTA San Andreas and The Sims 2.

what is your favorite TV show?

I don't own a TV or cable for around 5 years now (consumed by the Internet), so I am not up-to-date with the shows that are on TV today. I follow a lot of online shows and Channels on YouTube, though.
