How come you rarely ever use shield drops? I remember that you used to really big on it back a few years ago so it's weird to watch your matches and never see it now.

I was very rusty at both Evo and Apex (since I barely touched the game in 2013), but I've since relearned it. It'll be included into my game next time you see me play ;)

how do you feel about the current melee tier list?

Yoshi is underrated, Ganon is overrated, thats the only big changes that should be made imo. I think the top 6 are very interchangeable.

Wear do you get your scarfs?

The one I had at Apex I got as a gift from a girl, so I don't know where she bought it. Its a famous brand tho, should be easy to find. I also have an old one that I bought in Spain :v

Well, honestly, I don't think any smasher is even close to being good enough to deserve awe and fanboyism, but there are a few who's playstyle I like more than the rest. At the moment I like a few parts of each one the top 5's playstyle but I don't prefer any one in particular.
If I want to look for competitors to admire and learn from, I look for "normal" athletes and people who excel in fields that are more developed and have tougher competition.

Since Rolex is the only person who beat you in Project M, what are your thoughts on Snake/Rolex? Are you studying Snake more now or do you not care as much about P:M?

I beat Rolex twice at a local before, and I really don't care about PM. Snake is a very gimmicky character and Rolex mains PM (which tbh I have no respect for), so theres that.

If the matchup was simple enough to be taught through a question like this then you would already know it. Take some time to teach yourself how to learn matchup and how to ask better, more specific matchup related questions instead :v

What do you feel about Armada? And also how did you feel about the ban incident he made?

I've commented on this a couple of times so I'll keep it short; weird ass ban, armada is acting like a fucking 3 year old and is too scared to speak to me face to face (we met several times after the ban) and overall, I can't help but just laugh at him and this whole situation.

What did you come in expecting for results in EVO? Did you feel you had some chance of winning? And what are your expectations on Apex 2014?

I try not to think about what I'm going to place except that I'm aiming to win since you're usually just setting a limit on yourself. Of course, that method isnt fool proof and since I hadn't played at all (cept for 3 days 2weeks before Evo) and was focusing on marvel, I can't say I was expecting to do incredibly well. I guess still did okay anyway
As for Apex, I'm aiming for the very top in all games I'm entering; KOF13, UMVC3, ssbm teams and singles and project M. I'm much less rusty in ssbm now compared to Evo though, so I'm more than hopeful ;)
My main problem will be that I'm working a shitton until Apex, and I won't have any time to adjust to the timezones either since I'm arriving on thursday night. I'll make it work tho!

how are you preparing for the falcon (hax/s2j) matchup this time around? :) But in all seriousness, you seem to be really good at figuring out matchups I would guess you don't get to play much of in sweden (puff, djn's bowser for example). What's your process in preparing for those matchups?

I haven't really started the practice for my slightly more unexperienced matchups yet (for this years apex) since I've been focusing on just getting back into the game overall. After HF-Lan this weekend, I'm going to take a hard look at what matchups I need to improve in and go through each of them. I'm think very actively when I play, so unlike many who play more based on past experiences I can handle being under experienced in matchups relatively well just by knowing the basic theory behind it. Check back around next week for some more specific examples :)!

Do you think you are better than Ice? What were your last friendlies like?

I think I'm better than Ice. I beat our last set went 3-1, 3-1 and 2-0 (with jv4 stock) to me, but that was quite a while ago. I'll be facing him in France this weekend though, and I'm sure we'll see then ;)

hell no. I was scared by the octopus and the sharks in Wind waker when I was younger, I could never manage riding a giant fuckin whale

Any fox tips on beating a very aggressive falco with a fearsome punish game?

Well, full jumps and bairs are good. Uhhhh, focus on staying out of his biggest combo starters (dair, shine, utilt) until you're 50+% and then go in. You're going to need to have a good defense game along with a good punish game so focus on that.

who are you teamin with at apex?

I don't know yet! Ice is teaming with someone else. I'm going to start searching soon :>

why would you want to play smash4?

I'm pretty sure smash 4 is going to be good, and theres hopefully going to be better competition than Melee currently has.

What did you do to improve before you were a top player? What sorts of things do you think aren't emphasized for improvement practices but should be (if you feel like giving an example, what are some things a low-mid level falco player could do to improve)?

I could go on for hours about this, it's a subject I've thought a lot about. I would honestly prefer to not explain what I did, since I picked up the game very quickly to the point where I don't think my experiences are particularly valuable to the average newbie. I'm kind of busy so I'll probably talk more about this subject later, but for now I'll give you some quick tips:
1. Focus on improving your fundamentals, and try to stay as far away from specific, gimmicky things.
2. Try to think about how you can improve your mindset. Whether it just is how your mindset is when practicing or about how you think during tournament matches, you will need to learn how to properly control how you think, act and go about learning things if you want to improve as quickly as possible.
3. Please don't practice tech skill/execution all day. Any top player could beat a incredibly technical fox without using shffls, wavedashes or lcancels, because that really doesn't make much of a difference in comparison to raw fundamentals.
4. Don't be afraid to play "gay".... I hate that I have to say this but Smashers really need to improve on this part.

Are you planning on going all fox at apex? It seems like you were also playing marth a bunch recently too...

I'm going all Fox at Apex2014. I was planning to switch to Marth since he fits my playstyle better (and he'll prob be my main in smash4) but since I'll be working very intensely up to Apex I really don't have the time to make the switch viable
