If you're lucky enough to hang out with the rich kids, I think it's a necessity to keep up with expensive clothes (not to fit in but to feel in)
I guess it's different for everyone. Despite being exposed to different social groups, i don't feel the need to impress anyone with what I wear. I like branded clothes, true, but I also enjoy buying from online shops and bazaars. Sometimes I'll wear the same skirt 3-5 times a month. It doesn't really matter as long as you know how to change up the look to make it look fresh. But it is t necessary to buy expensive clothing frequently just to be called a La Sallian :D
