What is a converter anyway?
It's somewhat a lens and serves as an extension for the original lens attached to the camera. For the 55mm f1.8 macro lens, once the converter is attach to it, you will no longer adjust yourself way too far just to take the perfect shot. And using the converter as well, you can nearly focus on the object you wanna take. Tho you're just 3-4inches away from the object, your camera can still focus on the object and snap a photo. On the other hand, for the 18-55mm kit lens, the converter serves as a wide angle lens which is helpful when you're taking a snapshot of a group of people. And addition to that, it also serves as a semi-fish-eye lens for landscape photography. :)
