Here are some personal favorites of mine, if you think I've left out someone essential feel free to tell us and we'll talk about them as well! MC Ride (Death Grips) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cinJDxLUsNY "Last night 3:30 in the morning / Death on my front porch / Can feel him itching to take me with him / Hail Death, fuck you waiting for / Like a question no one mention / He turns around, hands me his weapon, he slurs "Use at your discretion, it's been a pleasure, Stefan." Ride's lyrics are so mesmerizing and indecipherable at the same time that entire message boards and subreddits have been created in their honor. Admittedly, most of them are only concerned with the memes, but every once in a while I come across a 1000-word essay on how Government Plates (2013) is based on Freud's concept of the superego. "On GP", however, is the first time he refers to himself by name, revealing another side to the serial killer / conspiracy theorist persona he's cultivated all these years, and like a torn-off page from a burnt diary, its contents will always be a mystery. Jeremy Bolm (Touché Amoré) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ5yfreafAw "I was once asked / How I'd like to be remembered / And I simply smiled / And said "I'd rather stay forever." / It was possibly my loudest cliché / But felt better than just walking away." The most relatable lyrics are sometimes the most honest ones. By sharing their insecurities with the World, the lyricist risks scrutiny but is also greatly humanized in the process. Instead of seeing him as a one-dimensional entity that exists solely within the confines of the music, we begin to realize that he's just a regular guy who's just as vulnerable as us when faced with existential dread, and perhaps just as clueless too. Tomas Haake (Meshuggah) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag1aNHMz914 "There's a fee for every lie / The currency: your dissolving integrity / Will you make it to the top of the tree? / Is the fortune there to be found? / Chameleons are a short-lived breed / Maybe fate will find you dead on the ground." Meshuggah's music is analogous to an erratic but highly sophisticated android whose A.I. is modeled after his mad scientist creator, complete with a general hatred toward the human race and an intent to ridicule every facet of its existence. If it wasn't for Haake's lyrics, my description would've ended at "sophisticated android". Daniel Dumile (MF Doom) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpex2Gy9oJY "Living off borrowed time the clock tick faster / That'd be the hour they knock the slick blaster / Dick Dastardly and Muttley with sick laughter / A gun fight and they come to cut the mixmaster / I-C-E cold, nice to be old." There's a saying that goes "A single verse by MF Doom is better than most rappers' entire careers." and I'm not saying it's true, I'm just saying that every argument you can make against it is already the losing one. / Earthmover /

Maaf mas Bas baru bisa sempat balas,Saya coba review Dried Cassava eh eh ehhh The Dead Weather sekenanya...The Dead Weather – I Feel Love (Every Million Miles) http://youtu.be/98oMvKF-78YSemakin kesini side project Jack White and Alison Mosshart ini justru terlihat berhasil memberikan kesempatan kpd mba Mosshart untuk outshine semenjak sepertinya The Kills kurang dapat memuaskan dahaga-nya untuk stage killing, ditambah Jack juga disini bisa pamer skill drum-nya... Tapi tidak bisa dipungkiri, riffs and signature guitar tones-nya selalu kental, sekali dengar kita juga tahu ini ciri khas former The White Stripes frontman.DRUMMING TECHNIQUE, DESIGN, AND DISCUSSION WITH DEAD WEATHER DRUMMER JACK WHITE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVL5ylN3ffYSaya sempat penasaran siapa nih rapping ala2 Bestie dalam lantunan ala Korn di lagu Three Dollar Hat “I got three young kids and a badass wife,” ternyata bung White sendiri, not saying is a bad thing, justru terlihat di album ini mereka exploring sekali tanpa lari dari esensi asli The Dead Wheater. It’s loping bassline, swinging drum rhythm, and psychedelic samples could easily sit in the mix of a Mobb Deep or Wu Tang record."What Alison Mosshart and Jack White ultimately share is the idea that rock’n’roll means great sound effects above all else. The guitars they adorn their hi-tech, swamp-blues alt-rock with can be described metaphorically as power-drilling or machine-gunning; they can also be described as literally sounding like a power drill or machine gun. Thus no one would ever describe their microtone-heavy bluster as some kind of relic or return; there’s no garage in it à la the mechanistic Black Keys, nor any grease à la the song-impaired Alabama Shakes. Dead Weather songs like the previous “Bone House” had wall-scraping Tom Morello moves, but here they divebomb deeper into split octaves and distend their waveforms into grotesque disfigurement. Is it a six-string or a 6.0 jobber length?" GUITAR TECHNIQUE AND DISCUSSION WITH DEAD WEATHER GUITARIST DEAN FERTITA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5QcGChLH9A
"Sometimes, as on “Three Dollar Hat” or the ?uestlove-esque breakbeats of “Mile Markers,” White’s decision to give his drums a thin, dubby pong-tone makes them sound unintentionally hilarious, like 311 stopped in for a few bars. But unless an overreaction to rockism has led you to deem the varying riffage “samey,” there’s little to complain about 12 songs in 43 minutes by icons of varying likability." - SPINBASS TECHNIQUE AND DISCUSSION WITH DEAD WEATHER BASSIST JACK LAWRENCE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D03gQAtc3gcWill this be Mosshart's biggest album of her career? Cause we know White can always make something new, he's a genius. In the end, Dodge And Burn does exactly what its name suggests – it manoeuvres out of the comfort zone you would have predicted, and ignites brightly before eventually smouldering out.[ Koyaanisqatsi ]
Circa WavesVenue | The Foundry No. 8 SCBD Lot. 8 ,Jalan Jend. Sudirman Kav. 52-53 12190 Jakarta, Indonesia "Live reviews Circa Waves have gone from playing small room venues to main festival stages and it has barely been a year since they released their debut 'Get Away/Good For Me' E.P. The quick transition was undoubtedly boosted by an opening slot on this year's NME awards tour in-between. It's short and snappy indie pop music by definition, with infectious choruses and catchy "ooh"s in tracks like 'Good For Me' coming to life in a concert setting. Essentially, they sound like a less moody, equally as poppy The Vaccines with the bounciness of Vampire Weekend. The formula of swirling guitar riffs and easy to sing a long to song lyrics create the perfect indie pop gig, no matter the size of their crowd. I first saw them last year performing to a small but excited audience at Nottingham's Bodega and it was clear from that debut tour that they were ready to be big indie music players. Then, at Rock City, the Liverpool based four piece opened the NME awards tour, playing to a much bigger audience and debuting new single 'Stuck In Your Teeth' which was a highlight. Performing before the likes of Temples, Palma Violets and Peace, I felt that they gave one of the best shows of the evening! October 2: Deafheaven - New Bermuda https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6it-7KIzjmM Deafheaven have produced in four years what most groups only dream of producing in their entire careers; an album that is undoubtedly going to be hailed as a classic by future generations of music fans. But have they reached their artistic peak on Sunbather? Probably yes. Which is why you'll be better off not expecting much from New Bermuda. I did, and I'm pretty sure it's earned a spot on my top 10 of the year so far. Wavves - V https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-80zLGzgXc If you like your punk rock singalong-able and quirky without being too preachy and/or complex, this one's for you. Actually, as long as you're not one of those guys who act depressed all the time and refuse to acknowledge the existence of fun, you're in for a treat. Loma Prieta - Self Portrait https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYGHS_sLeOw I can count with one hand the amount of hardcore punk bands out there that can provide me with the same kind of sonic intensity that Loma Prieta have provided since their inception about a decade ago, which says a lot about their mastery of the genre and how experienced they've become. On Self Portrait, however, most of the aggression has been replaced by a sense of triumph and even euphoria in the form of anthemic, post-hardcore-influenced vocal harmonies and guitar melodies that are undeniably beautiful. . Other notable releases: Swans - The Gate, Autre ne Veut - Age of Transparency, Kylesa - Exhausting Fire, Indian Handcrafts - Creeps, Janet Jackson - Unbreakable. . October 5: Spectral Wound - Terra Nulius https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpWhtyVMSR4 I'm usually turned off immediately by traditional black metal, but I can get behind this. October 7: Nicolas Jaar - Fight (single) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM6lRdPO7So Jaar has been killing it this year with his Nymphs series as well as that weird little soundtrack album he made for an equally weird movie from the late 60s which you can download for free: http://t.co/5HtoSw0gKF . "Fight" is more of a traditional Nicolas Jaar track though, complete with dem tasty vocal samples and glitchy beats. October 9: Protomartyr - The Agent Intellect https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC7M9ztfS4U Who would've thought that there'd be people making good post punk in 2015? City and Colour - If I Should Go Before You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbStWiWDCEI I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this was made by the same guy who made "Save Your Scissors" Kacy Hill - Bloo (ep) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpqhQ02OcC0 Ever since hearing her feature on Travis Scott's "90210" back in September I've been on the lookout for her music and I pretty much got what I expected. She's basically Lorde for people who are too proud to listen to Lorde. . Other notable releases: Mayday Parade - Black Lines, Johnny Marr - Adrenalin Baby, Ryan Hemsworth & Lucas - Taking Flight, Jake Shimabukuro - Travels. / Earthmover /
Di tempat kemarin, you better perform like mad or else no one paying attention, I've witnessed for years banyak band2 yg lagi perform sisa yg nonton itungan jari sedangkan diluar yg nongkrong banyak bgt karena everybody know everybody except the band itself.Sedih karena kehilangan kenangan di tempat itu - IYA - plus lebih convenient deket dengan possibly others venue (Borneo dan Ecobar), bnyk pilihan tmpt makan plus Amer, but venue and event supposedly yg di Rooftop Rossi akan lebih baik dan Shun tetap akan aktif bersama dukungan Studiorama, Robby Wahyudi Onggo and Mirfak Prabowo yg sering buat acara di Mondo. Dan lagian yang kita lihat always the same old people, dimana pun acara-nya, it's still feel the same...Oh heads up, the first event on the new Mondo bakal digarap anak2 Studiorama, jadi ditunggu saja.Hope the best for the new Mondo! Oh yes, last day at Mondo (last Saturday) was as friendly and warm as usual, twas a good closure.[ Koyaanisqatsi ]
It's probably too late to help me, but it would be great if we could find something in the future that means children don't have to undergo such awful treatment and have a better chance of survival". . A psych project headed by Malang's own musical talent named Raoul Dikka, Low Pink's songs exhibit his ability to write highly-likable arrangements by interjecting colorful pop elements. Songs like "She's Not Your Queen" and "Across the Moon"—that can be heard on the band's Soundcloud—are fine examples. It will be Low Pink's first ever performance, but you can already expect big things from them." https://soundcloud.com/low-pinkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c720qvr0evM Pijar // cinta remaja Pijar "Pijar will be one of the two bands who opened for @__thegarden__'s concert at 365 Eco Bar, Jakarta on October 9, 2015. Consisting of vocalist/guitarist Alfredo, guitarist Ican, bassist Lizam, and drummer Aul, the Jakarta-based band are creating songs that remind us of bands from the land of Britannia in the mid-2000s favored especially by NME. Thanks! We're thrilled that people are reacting positively to our account, but we'll be even more thrilled if you guys keep 'em questions coming no matter how crazy they may sound in your heads. Remember, the craziest questions can lead to the most important discussions, so fire away! Today I'm going to share some of the best music I've discovered on Bandcamp in the last two to three months with the aim to familiarize those who are unaware of the surprisingly vast amount of good music one can find on this platform. I hope I can make this a weekly thing as I also want to talk about how to best navigate Bandcamp at a later date after doing some research. In the meantime: 1. Edamame https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slYrJNMXBKU Bandcamp: https://edamame.bandcamp.com/ Atmospheric, sample-heavy beat music that is equal parts mesmerizing and relaxing. Fans of producers such as Burial, Clams Casino, Shlohmo, and Scuba will fall in love immediately with this guy while the rest of you will want to find out more about the scene. 2. High Skies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Uy5gQ9Y1Xo Bandcamp: http://highskies.bandcamp.com/ Ever wondered how Carl Sagan would sound over some repetitive, minimalist electronica? Me neither. But these guys have, and they ended up creating a journey that simply needs to be experienced. 3. Knxwledge https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOzXOmxlE68 Bandcamp: https://knxwledge.bandcamp.com/ I did some basic arithmetic to discern just how prolific this guy has been throughout his career on Bandcamp and the results are..interesting. Since 2009 he's released a total of 69 projects, which is give or take 12 projects every year, which means he released a new project every month for 6 years. It's hard not to be skeptical toward a musician when they seem to not put as much thought into their music as we'd like them to, but they're under no obligation to give a shit about that either, so what's it gonna be? 4. Airs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-92fWAqA86Q Bandcamp: https://airs.bandcamp.com/ Starting out as a lo-fi black metal band, Airs have evolved into masters of modern shoegaze while still possessing the somber and melodic edges of their harsher past. 5. pinkshinyultrablast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-cISmtXk1M Bandcamp: https://pinkshinyultrablast.bandcamp.com/ These adorable Russian shoegazers are back after 6 years of hiatus and they're as underrated and as catchy as ever. / Earthmover /
