Cuz Nameks can regenerate any part of their bodies as long as their head is intact, and King Piccolo died by gettin impaled, i think he should have regenerated considering that Piccolo survived gettin broken to pieces as a stone
Regeneration takes energy, and we saw Nail lost a lot when he grew back his arm, so I don't think he had any left, plus he used the rest of it to birth Piccolo Jr.

Gohan was the best written and had the best character arc until Toriyama ruined that by giving into peer pressure like a 12 year old girl, so Vegeta does now, despite him being a manlet.
