in what outfit do you feel your cutest?

This is a hard question because it always changes but I am allowed to attach one photo here so this is one.

Violetta o Casi Ángeles ? Rosado o violeta ? Zapas o tacos ? Pop o regaetoon ? Cumbia o regaetoon ? Compu o net ? Net o cel ? Leer o escuchar música ? Joda o vagancia ? Bailar o dormir ? Salir o viciar ? Viciar o mirar tele ? Negro o blanco ? Pollera o pantalón ? Dieta o mucha comida ?

I haven't used Spanish in maybe 2 years. Why are you doing this to me?

what do you find attractive in the opposite sex?

I'm usually mostly just attracted to having mutual interests and being able to get along well with their personality and then whatever else comes after and there's really no set rules. Also, it's important for them to be able to dress themselves in a way that they look put together.

what's your opinion of push-up bras?

They're fine I guess I don't have any strong opinions here.

having a boyfriend doesn't necessarily mean you're straight - you could be bi, for example

Yeah that's true but I identify as straight~

What is the most beautiful place in the world?

I haven't seen every place in the world but I must say Kyoto is pretty high up on my list.

Is it bad to wear low cut shirts in Japan? How low can you go (lame joke here)

It would be bad in a business setting yeah. That's the only place I think you really need to be cautious because it's more strict than in other countries. Outside of that, people might just look at you a little funny maybe depending on how low it is? They don't sell as much clothing here that's low-cut either.

Can you rec any good animes? I'm at the point where I've seen most of the big ones that pop up when I google for anime recs and I'm looking for something a little off the beaten track. I like cheerful ones, or ones with good characters, such as nagi asu <3

Ah yeah I can try! I honestly don't watch ~that~ much anime but...
-"Yama no Susume" (the English title translation sounds dumb so I refuse to use it): My friend who recommended Nagi no Asu to me also suggested this one so you would probably like it. It's like 13 5 minute episodes so it's really easy to get through! I found it all condensed into one video on Youtube. It's just a cute story about girls who like climbing mountains.
-Nichijou: It's kind of quirky and has me in tears from laughing so much so I recommend it if you want to try something kind of silly.
-Kuragehime: was one I randomly found on Hulu and loved. In short, it's about some otaku girls and a cross dresser. It's funny and really sweet.
These are a little less current but...
-Chobits: It will always be one of my favorites. It love the clothing designs in it too.
-Paradise Kiss: By the same artist who did Nana and it's about fashion students in Tokyo.
Also here is my Anime List account if that helps a bit so you can see other things I have watched: http://myanimelist.net/profile/teadaze
I hope that helps~

How much free time do you have when working as a teacher?

It really depends on what your schools are like and how many lessons you have to plan per week. Usually I work hours from 8 am-4 pm during which I have a few classes and some free time in the teachers room where I plan most of my lessons. Most of my schools don't have a computer for me to use so I usually make the handouts and materials when I'm home either after work or on weekends. Since each grade level is more or less at the same point in the book, it's not like every single class I teach is a different lesson which makes it easier for me.
Long story short- I have a good few hours free after work on week days and it depends on how much work I have to do for my lessons and my weekends are usually free but that depends on how much I plan ahead. ;)

Is living in Japan as good as you imagined?

Yeah it's basically what I expected in general and I guess I knew what I was in for because this isn't my first time in Japan.

What's the max age of a guy you are fine to hang out with?

I don't have any set rules. Whether I want to hang out with a guy or not is more dependent on how he treats me than his age. I have guy friends who are ~35 and I'm 22 and it's fine because they're nice to me.

What's a polite way to respond to compliments in Japan? I know Japanese people value modesty a lot of the time, so is it better to go "oh no, not at all" or just say "thank you!"

I'm actually not entirely sure. I usually just respond with something like "Really??? Thank you!!" and haven't had any problems with it. Being here as a foreigner, there are some cultural things you really need to respect like taking your shoes off indoors and things like that, but for small things like this, I think no one will be harsh on you if you respond in a way they aren't used to because they probably know you aren't a native Japanese person so they won't hold you to those same standards.

Do you think Japan has a bigger stigma against fat people than America?

I don't really know because I haven't personally experienced it. Most of the clothing here is made in small sizes as most people here are of a smaller size so I imagine it's more difficult here to shop for larger clothing sizes than in the US even though people complain about that. I get that it's certainly not an ideal position to be in in America, but I think it would be more difficult here simply because the large majority of people are within a certain size range. I think they are trying to branch out more though. If you're curious, google "marshmallow girls" and the brand called Punyus. Beyond that, I'm not sure because I'm a smaller person myself so I don't have any firsthand experience.

Do you have any advice for teaching Japanese students?

Teaching English?
Depends on the age/context I guess.

oh, those aren't a big deal at all! those are just everyday things that happen to everyone. u shouldn't feel bad or embarassed!

Yeah it wasn't actually that bad just I would have rather not had to deal with it.

As you are staying alone in Tokyo, how often do you finger yourself?

I'm not staying alone in Tokyo and what is this question even.
Go away.

I've heard that Japanese guys aren't interested in dating Western women. Is that true?

I really don't know that much personally. I think it's impossible to make an assumption like that about a whole group of people. I will say when I was abroad, Japanese guys were interested in some girls in my group so that just shows some of them may be interested. There are always exceptions when you make a broad generalization like that. ;3

what happened to embarass u today? :o (saw on twitter)

Really dumb things like dropping money while trying to pay for something and later trying to pay with a bill that was too small. Meant to give them a 10,000 yen but handed over a 1,000 instead. Oops.

What have been the hardest parts about living in Japan so far?

Not being able to read everything is really hard at times but I got a really amazing app that was free and I am just going to plug it now. It's called "Imiwa" and it's a Japanese/English/etc dictionary but if you install a Chinese keyboard on your phone, you can draw the kanji (Chinese characters) to look them up if you don't know them. It doesn't need internet to work either so it's a huge lifesaver. I also just feel bad when people speak to me in Japanese thinking I must understand everything they say for one reason or another.
Other than that... I guess not knowing where everything is and having a smart phone with maps for that. Though I'm getting on quite well with just a flip phone. I'm kind of surprised but definitely going back to the stone age with a phone like that is also hard.
And... recycling is really complicated here and it makes me not want to clean my apartment because of all the work that has to go into separating it into like 8 different types.

How well do your students speak English? :o Is it hard teaching when you're not fluent in Japanese?

In some classes, there's one student who is exceptionally good and translates for everyone. One of those girls I know of went to an international school in China so that's why she's basically fluent. It varies with the rest of them really. The younger elementary school students almost seem like they know more than the older junior high school students just because they're more willing to use it. I feel the other ones have just matured enough to become self-conscious, especially around me, a native English speaker. I see their textbooks and they haven't been taught thaaaat much each year. Compared to my Japanese textbooks, I'm lightyears ahead of them in language but you can only teach them so much at a time.
It's not hard teaching because my company trained me to use only English in the classroom so my job is to not use any Japanese and I try to make that clear. However, sometimes I have to translate things the students say to me. For example, if they don't know how to ask a question in English, I repeat their question to them in English before answering it in English. If they're still confused I see if I can translate my answer as well but that's usually not the case. I don't ever only speak Japanese to them but sometimes I have to use it to give my English phrases and vocabulary a context but knowing as much Japanese as I know is so useful for that. Also, I always have a Japanese English teacher in the room with me and how much they assist depends on the teacher and class. The ones in the ES don't actually know much English at all beyond what's in the textbook but the ones at the JHS are quite good at English so it's really helpful.
Sorry this answer is super long but I hope it explains some things to you!
