Why do/don't you believe in God?

i dont because i was never raised to believe in him, ive never gone to church, and i went to a catholic summer camp for a week once and that was scary as shit.
i just believe in living for myself and not because i was put here by a higher power to live a sinful/sinless (im still confused by this) life

since all this homosexuality fighting has been brought up again, id like to share something my dad told me a while ago when i asked him his take on gay rights
"im not gay and i dont support it, but i vote for their rights just so they have nothing else to yell about"
but seriously, for all the bible die hards who think that gay marriage shouldnt be legal for some reason (dude its not like its forcing you to marry the same sex) it doesnt involve you and your rights, and not everyone believes in the same stuff so just chill out and let people get their damn right to marry who they love.
