Read that a release date has been set for Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun! Will there be a collector's edition for it? Please please please let there be one.

Nozaki-kun is a show that is near and dear to my heart. The comedy was so fresh, characters were interesting and enjoyable...even the silly tanuki thing hit all the right spots. Definitely something on my personal top 5 list.
I would LOVE a collector's edition of Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun, but just me saying something won't make it happen. If you have been to one of our panels before, you know that we always stress how important it is to let your voice be heard. Your opinions matter more to us than you may think, so make sure to let us know on our social channels (Facebook, Twitter, G+, Tumblr) that you want a Nozaki-kun box set to happen. If we see that there is a demand, it is way more likely that we will take a closer look at a show to see if it is CE worthy. Again, make sure your voices are heard, because we're listening. ;)

Given the scintillating success of Akame ga Kill on Toonami, is there a physical release in the works sometime soon? ^_^

Scintillating indeed! We are so happy about how well the show is doing, everyone here is going nuts. :) As far as the home video version, I am happy to report that we are working on the physical release right now! While I could tell you an exact release date yet, I can say that things are running pretty smoothly. Very excited!

I loved your booth at AX! The music was great too! Where can I get that soundtrack from your AX booth?

Actually, a LOT of people asked about the music at our booth and where they could get it. Our booth music was done by CRUSHWAX and you can buy his stuff here:

Do you guys have the rights for the 2nd season of Hamatora? and if not do you plan on getting the rights for it?

Well, the first season is about to drop in September, so watch out for that. As far as the second season? I can't really say anything definite, but from my experience there's a pretty good chance that if we got the first and dubbed it, then the second isn't too far behind. :)

Is the Sentai social media guy the big dude that I've seen at Sentai's panels over the years?

Ha! Yeah that's me. I'm the big dude. Come say hi at our booth if you're ever at a con we attend, we can talk shop. :)

How will the "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" release be handled in terms of naming the season names? Will it go by "Higurashi When They Cry", will the second season go by "Higurashi When They Cry Kai", and will the OVA series go by "Higurashi When They Cry Rei"? It would be nice to get some insight.

That's an interesting question. I find that's it's always best to stick to a name that is already known. So, we always try to do that with our titles if at all possible. While we haven't had a discussion about this with Higurashi (as we just announced it), it's more or less understood that you stick with what people know. Thanks!

If a show you guys have licensed only has a sub release and a new season comes out, would you ever consider going back to dub the entire series, or ever just the new season? I'm really curious how you guys make these types of decisions. Much obliged Sentai-Sensei-Sama!!! =D

Would we ever consider going back to dub the entire series? Yes.
Would we ever just dub the new season? Never.
That would be a lost opportunity on our parts, and it wouldn't make much sense to dub the second and not the first, as that would be a jarring experience for a fan of the series. I certainly wouldn't like it. So, If we were to dub a show after the second season has rolled out, there's an extremely high chance that both seasons would be dubbed.

Can you give you any information about the Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun English dub? I'm dying to know!

Ah, Nozaki, one of our favorite shows. I can tell you right now that it's found a home in our release schedule, so a definite date has been set for it. :)

I assume this is a very silly question but I am curious if there's ever been a situation where someone catches you watching anime that hasn't been licensed or acquired by Sentai Filmworks around the office. Is that a big deal, or are you guys just free to watch whatever anime whenever?

We all like anime here. While I'm typing this the girl behind me is watching Umaru-chan, I just had a nice chat with the guy who is subtitling one of our Summer shows, and I have the new episode of SCHOOL-LIVE paused and ready to go for when I finish up Ask Sentai.
I think that if someone ever wanted to watch a show that wasn't ours here, it wouldn't be a problem...but then again, we ARE at work, and for a lot of people it's their job to watch our shows. While I don't think it would be a big deal, it sure would be a waste of resources. :)

Hey Sentai Filmworks, since you putting out show like Akame Ga Kill on toonami can we possibility see more shows coming in the near future like maybe old show or maybe action show. Example, DanMachi, GATE, or Ushio and Tora.

The next Sentai show to make its way to Toonami will be Parasyte -the maxim-, which we are all really excited about, we hope you guys are too! Beyond that, we're not sure, but it wouldn't hurt if you watched both Akame and Parasyte every week with us.

When will we find out the English dub cast for Hamatora?

Great question! We actually premiered the first episode of the Hamatora dub earlier this month at San Japan, people seemed to dig it. :)
The Hamatora English dub cast list is scheduled to be released next week, so watch out for it! ;)

So what's the deal with your Legend of the Galactic Heroes announcement? Streaming? Physical? Bilingual? Sub-only? I need some foppery and whim soon.

Bless you, you golden lion, for using the phrase "foppery and whim." ;)
Details such as these are a little tricky to tack down right now, actually. If you were not aware (although I'm sure you are if you're into LOGH) this particular series comprises 110 episodes (technically they are considered OVAs). That equates to a TON of work on our side. In order to make this the best possible release (dare I say, definitive release?), we are taking care to comb over everything we get with a fine toothed comb to ensure quality. So right now the focus is on ensuring that quality. I assure you, however, that a release date and other details will come. Thanks!

Senpai...if possible can you ask Mr. Christopher Ayers if in the case of getting Little Busters EX, he will maintain the original cast from seasons 1 & 2? Let him know, if possible too, that he is the best ADR director for me! Thank you Senpai

Whenever we get multiple seasons of shows, we always, ALWAYS try to keep the same casting throughout the entire series. It wouldn't make much sense to put out a multiple season show with a different cast every season, and that's definitely something we want to avoid. So yes, if we do end up getting that particular title, I'm sure Mr. Ayres will try his hardest to bring the original cast back. Thanks!

I heard that you will be dubbing Chaika, but havent seen it anywhere on your site or on social media. Is this true?

YES! We announced this over the weekend at San Japan, actually. Chaika the Coffin Princess WILL indeed be getting a dub, and why wouldn't it, right? It's only got a ton of action, a great cast of main characters, a very unique and interesting storyline, and one of the cutest girls...EVER, in Chaika.
We are super excited about working on this show, we hope you dig the end product!

Why are some shows released with a dvd release first but the bluray release isnt for release until several months later?

I believe we've answered this question before, but I'll fill you in on what goes on anyway. So, there is something called a "holdback period" that is sometimes added onto a title. What this means is that we are not able to release that title on Blu-ray until the holdback period is over. That period can be vary title to title, so in order to get a show out to you guys who are waiting for it, we sometimes release the DVD version first, as there are no holdbacks on those. We are continually working to keep these holdback periods from affecting our release strategies with our titles, so hopefully you will be seeing less and less of this occurrence in the future.

Are you guys gonna do any cast announcements for Akame Ga Kill or are we gonna have to wait for the credits to roll on the first ep when it airs? I'm dying to knowwww ;A;

I think it's a lot more fun to go in with your eyes closed! ;)
Although our friends at Toonami have already put out a little sneak peek video, we're going keep the cast list close to our chests for now. The anticipation, uncertainty and curiosity is the best part of a premiere, we think, and we want to keep that as high as possible going into this Saturday.
Don't miss it BTW, Saturday, August 8 @ 12:30 AM ET!

Are there still old anime that is being picked up? Neighborhood Story? Skip Beat! Kimi to Boku? ect.

Yes, and I believe we have thoroughly shown that we are very much interested in older series with our pickup of the every elusive series Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which has NEVER made it to the United States. While I can't say for certain that we have looked at the titles you suggested, I can say that we are constantly looking into older series for possible acquisitions.

Are you guys going to license the 2nd season of Gatchaman Crowds?

Ah, I love Gatchaman Crowds. Ever since I heard that super catchy "GATCHAMAAAAAAAAAN..." tune (I know you know the one) blare out in the first episode, I was completely hooked. It's turned int one of our best and most unique titles, and we are more than thrilled about having it along with the rest of our Gatchaman stuff in the catalog.
As for Gatchaman Crowds Insight, we are DEFINITELY looking into it. I've watched a few episodes already, and it still has that same flavor of beautiful animation, interesting plot, and diverse characters that the first season had. I would say there's more than a good chance that we will get it!

How often is sentai going to answer questions?

So sorry for the delay! We usually try to have an Ask Sentai blog up every other week, but this past week we made our way to San Antonio to attand San Japan (which was a blast by the way), so last week's Ask Sentai turned into this week's Ask Sentai. So, barring any unforeseen circumstances, you can expect an Ask Sentai blog every other week.

Is CHUNIBYO: HEART THROB going to be available on Blu-Ray?

This is one of those titles that, for whatever reason, has a blu-ray hold back placed on it. While we always strive to release our titles with both formats readily available, certain situations beyond our control sometimes affect that release strategy. Although I am fairly confident that Heart Throb will be available on Blu-ray sometime in the future, I can't really say when that may be. Thanks!

How do collectors editions work? Im interested in the NGNL one but wont have money for it until later this month. Are the limited stock or are they usually available for a while and eventually just fade into obscurity and store shelves?

You should be fine. Yes, there is a set number of stock for every limited edition release, so make sure to pick it up as soon as you can!
